I've been playing Worms games since I was 10 or 11, when my mother randomly picked up Worms 2 for a dollar at Toys R Us. It was the first online multiplayer game that I ever played, and I was addicted to it. I made it a goal of my life to introduce everyone I knew to this wonderful little series.

 

The series has many sequels these days, of the 2D and 3D variety, and on consoles as well as PC. But for my money, there's no better way to play Worms than from a sideways perspective with a mouse and keyboard.

 

The current 2D Worms PC title is "Worms Reloaded", which can be found on Steam for $19.99, and is well worth the price of admission for one of the most polished Worms games in recent times. If you don't have it yet, you really should look into it. It's a blast.

 

And a new Worms game is looming on the horizon, Worms Revolution, which will not only be the first 2.5D Worms game, but is also the first game Worms creator Andy Davidson has worked on since the fan-favorite "Worms Armageddon" (not to be confused with the 2009 XBLA game Worms 2: Armageddon). I can't wait to get my hands on this game when it comes out in September.

Ah worms i love this game both of it the 3D and the 2D versions aswell.

Would like to play with it more but it's boring with bots and my friends don't want to play with me anymore. I have no idea why.

I'm not going to lie - I cannot stand the new worms games, and to this day stick with Worms Armageddon for all of my Wormy needs. WA works fine on modern systems with few issues.

I still think the games peaked at Worms 2, due to the huge level of customization that game had. Armageddon is considered by most people to be the best more because of the mod community that surrounds it, rather than because of the small number of additions it added to the Worms 2 formula when it was first released. Worms World Party wasn't bad, but it really didn't add anything at all except the Worm Pot, which oversimplified customization and was more detrimental than interesting.

 

Up until Worms Reloaded for the PC, there really hadn't been a worthwhile 2D Worms game. To me, that game got the classic feeling back. It's not really any better than Worms 2 or Armageddon, but it is super simple to play on a modern computer, which is something that can't be said about Worms 2 through Armageddon (I have tried everything possible to get Armageddon and World Party to run on my laptop, to no avail).

Probably a stupid question, but you have tried following the troubleshooting FAQ at Worms2D? I've never personally had any issues beyond extremely minor ones when using the beta patches and such.

Yeah, Super Cow was great too. I played Worms on the N64 a lot, I also liked Worms 3D for Gamecube.

I jumped on the bandwagon when I first played Worms 3D. One of the best games I've ever played, I blazed through the challenge mode but found the campaign to be a pain in the plot surprisingly, I don't know how that works at all.

I played Worms Armageddon when I was like, ten.

I tried to get it to work on my laptop, but to no avail.

 

I play hedgewars now. Hedgewars is free. (Unfortunately, the community is pretty fucking dead the last time I checked.)

Hahah yeah once when I played Worms World Party with my friend, he has only one worm left and I had my whole team. He got lucky and hit one of my worms which made a barrel explode which killed all my other worms xD

Worms is awesome! When I visit my Uncle's house, we usually play Worms Armageddon together on Xbox 360. It's SOOO fun and addicting, I agree.

 

Sadly, right now, I don't have Worms Reloaded. But, I might get it soon.

oh gosh i love the worms series (though 2d is still always going to be the best)...i used to play it all the time when i was young...and listen to all the little voices you could select when customising your worms..

 

i also liked being able to build my own maps..that was always fun ^^ and some of the weapons were just silly <3

Ah, worms. I have Armageddon, Reloaded, Worms 4 Mayhem and Ultimate Mayhem. I won ultimate mayhem in a contest on the Team17 forums, but due to my graphics card, it is EXTREMELY laggy and thus unplayable.

Even with Ultimate Mayhem in the collection, Worms 3D will always be my favorite Worms game in the series, so many awesome, epic, and funny moments were made in that game, it just can't be replaced, y'know?
