I would have to recommend you practice more on Vinyl with scratch paper. Start with the head and work your way to the body. When you are drawing, start off very lightly placing where you want the parts with soft strokes of a pencil. Work your way into softly drawing in details where they fit. After it's all drawn up start hardlining it. Many people go this route to get a better looking image without the hassle of erasing; sometimes it even looks better with those soft lines put in for effect.
