The fact that you said Spongebob is the worst show on Nick is probably the main reason no one has responded to this thread. (Also, I agree with you, lulz) Also, this is kind of the wrong section. Should be in Media discussion.

 

Nickelodeon is absolute garbage today, as well as Cartoon Network and Disney Channel as you said. Nickelodeon use to have awesome shows like Cat Dog, Rocket Power, Invader Zim, tons of others that really can't pop into my head right now. Cartoon Network has Regular Show and Adventure time. That's about it. It use to be full of awesome shows (Courage the Cowardly Dog!). Disney Channel? No. Just no.

 

Quality TV has really disappeared, which is why I began to transition over to the art of Japanese animation when I was still in my single digit ages.

Nickelodeon, when I was a child, was the greatest. We had Hey Dude, Salute Your Shorts, Space Cases, All That, Are You Afraid of the Dark?, and THE ADVENTURES OF PETE AND PETE! Pete and Pete was the best show of it's era, in my opinion. CN had some good stuff back then, too. I still like some of the shows on CN (Regular Show, Adventure Time) and I loved Flapjack and Chowder. I mean, Chowder had Dwight Shultz. He played Reginald Barclay! He was on the A-Team!

I did enjoy Fairly Oddparents when I was young. Cartoon Network has lost alot of value over the years, but I only watch Adult Swim on it. Gotta love Aqua Teen Hunger Force and Metalocalypse.

Truly, it has went downhill. I can't watch TV anymore. Isn't anything good on anymore that I can't get better quality off the internet of. But Nick was GREAT. WAS.

Unfortunately, we are in an era, where TV corporations pick up random talentless kids and drop them in on similar shows so that they can showcase their "acting" and "singing". I find better cartoons on Newgrounds than I do on T.V. the fact that CN only has 2 shows to make profit off of, instead of what USED to be 6 or more, shows that T.V. might die off sooner than expected. The only reason Nickelodeon is trying to be a wanna-be Disney Channel is because they were beating Nick's ratings, thus ushering a new dark age for Nickelodeon. At least, Disney Channel has always been that way...but what's really frightening is that the other stations are trying to emulate that. I didn't like Disney Channel before, what makes you think I wanna see 5 Disney Channel clones?

Except for the Avatar series (Last Airbender + Korra), Nick is the crappiest I've seen it in years. I gave up on Cartoon Network years ago when they started making non-animated shows; I thought it was supposed to be Cartoon Network, not craptacular network. At least Nickelodeon shows a few of the old shows on Nicktoons network or whatever it's called late at night on weekdays, though I guess they're assume everyone who liked shows such as Doug, All That, and Hey Arnold are night owls who don't have to get up early the next morning and can afford to pay their cable/satellite/fios/etc. company to get that channel.

 

As for the Disney Channel, I've never liked it much so no comment there.

Disney channel if FULL of fuck. It pretty much all sucks... Except Phineas and Ferb. Which is Pretty great.

CARTOON NETWORK. Reigns the best.. It has Adventure Time. Gumball. Regular Show. Everything on Adult Swim. Basically amazing.

The thing about Nickelodeon is that they just won't let some of their stuff die and anything that has ever had potential dies in a quick manner. Y'know, at least Cartoon Network and Disney rotate their schedule once in a while.

Here's my opinion.

I believe both Nickelodean and Disney Channel are horrible. Disney Channel has horrible shows like Austin & Alley. Disney Channel's only show that is good now-a-days is that new gravity falls show IMO.

 

Nickelodean is just going all reality shows, which is bad, kids need more cartoons instead of gross girls doing gross things on TV.

 

Cartoon Network on the other hand, is getting way better.

First of all, they are all cartoons now, the only 1 show that isn't a cartoon is level up (which is barely getting episodes anymore. )

Second of all, after atleast 6 years, they started showing old TV shows again on friday nights at 8:00PM EST on cartoon planet.

I think that was a amazing thing to do.

 

 

Also yes, I watch Hub, but the TV i am usually at doesn't have hub on it so I watch it on rare occasions.

This woman, IS ME. I loved el tigre, oh my god. I don't know what it was, maybe because I am spanish, but that show was awesome. Danny phatom was amazing, Ned declassified NEEDS a sequel, (NDSSG, in HS.) that show was funny and entertaining, not filled with drama. (any drama in it is stupid in a good way, cookie trying to get a model to be his date and getting a wolf lol)

Also, im not some guy that treats nostalgia like a drug. I hate nostalgia. Why would anyone WANT to feel it? it makes no sense to me. i was born in '95, so I dont know shit about pete and pete, or all that, or whatever. I grew upi with spongebob and avatar and sonic X and power rangers. They were fine, but I wouldnt want to see them now, becuase Ive grown.

The Legend of Korra was amazing, but now that's over with and the only thing they play now that I watch is classic Spongebob. Besides, their Nicktoons channel is way better, with reruns of Avatar, Dragon Ball Z Kai, and Invader Zim on it.

I grew up on Nickelodeon but don't care about TV in general today so have no real feelings about the likely mediocrity of the channel today. I was basically amused by anything in the day so a lot of shows I loved in my childhood probably wouldn't hold up very well, but there's also shows like classic SpongeBob that I'll always enjoy.
