gaming Shiny Pokemon Random Encounters

Any of you pokemon fans out there know what this is about I was interested to hear about other's shiny random encounter's of pokemon. Could be from G/S/C Gen. - B/W Gen. I recently caught a shiny a couple of months ago at a friends house while playing my Soul Silver version. Thus transferring to Black.

I've only had one shiny encounter... It was that giant scorpion thing in pearl version

 

Fortunately for me, it happened in the safari zone and it instantly ran away. You're lucky to have gotten ponyta that's one of my favorite shinies, it's like a ghost horse

I know ahhhh the worst time to find one!! I have been trying a masuda method for a shiny zangoose :3!!! I want one sooo BAD xD!

I found my first shiny....at Lake Rage.

But after that I found my first legit out-of-nowhere and not part of the storyline shiny near the Whirlpool Islands. It was a Tentacool. Can't remember what I name 'im.

But after that I found my first legit out-of-nowhere and not part of the storyline shiny near the Whirlpool Islands. It was a Tentacool. Can't remember what I name 'im.

 

I had pokemon platinum version a while back before SS/HG & was fishing with the Super Rod @ the Pkmn league and after a while had an encounter with a shiny gyarados and caught it then when SS/HG came :/ it wasn't rare anymore....

Wasn't the gyarados in the original Gold/Silver shiny? I can't remember if it was or not...

Pretty good catch though! All I ever find is the generic pokemon that area has when I fish (Like in B/W I just keep finding Basculin :/ Maybe a Frillish here and there but otherwise it's all very annoying).

Yes gyarados was a shiny back in the Gold/Silver days! G/S/C had to be my all time favorite of the series! I played those games to the bone as a kid Yellow version was the first pokemon game that I ever played so it's a rough tie between the two generations on which one was my favorite.

I thought so! I used to have Gold, but I had it when I was 9 and completely had no clue as to what to do when I reached Lake Rage and kinda ragequit lol

I can't even remember which game I played first, but it's a three way tie between Pokemon Stadium, Pokemon Snap, and Hey You Pikachu XD I've been in love with pokemon since I was practically born. First handheld game I played was Blue. I don't really have a favorite gen. Favorite pokemon easily has to be Flareon though.

The only legitimate shiny pokemon I've ever found was a Zubat. Of all the pokemon out there, the ONLY SHINY ONE I'VE FOUND...

Needless to say I caught it, but you get the point. Seriously though, the thing looked like a flying turd... It was dark green with rust-colored wings.

I thought so! I used to have Gold, but I had it when I was 9 and completely had no clue as to what to do when I reached Lake Rage and kinda ragequit lol

The masuda method is where you take a pokemon (wifi traded) from another country/region & breed it with completely different region pokemon. Example =: (USA)Pkmn + (Japan) Pkmn= Masuda Method. As long as both pokemon are from separate countries it will work. Ditto's from other countries are a pain to trade for but if you can pull off the trade then do it .

 

You have to have a TON of patience though xD

I've only ever encountered 3 non-Gyarados shinies:

-Linoone in Pokemon Ruby: didn't know how rare they were at the time, but it did surprise me and I caught it. The file is long gone though, I have beaten and restarted that game many times since then.

-Octillery in Pokemon Diamond: I was catching Luvdiscs for their Heart Scales when all of the sudden I encountered it, I had knowledge of them by this time, was so excited when I caught it. It's either still in my Diamond game or in White, I forget where.

-Slowpoke in Pokemon HeartGold: I was EV training my Machoke's HP on them when all of the sudden a shiny one showed up, I was ecstatic about it and caught it. Now it's a fully trained Slowbro and on my Pokemon White game.

 

...and that's it. I remember getting the Slowpoke around summer 2010, and I haven't encountered another shiny since.

Good luck to you too! Zangoose is a pretty cool pokemon It can kick some serious butt if you play your cards right.

I found two shinies in my old crystal file (which I don't have anymore unfortunately) One was a Wooper which I caught and put in my team near the beginning of the game. The other was a Graveler who used selfdestruct

 

I also had a shiny from the egg given by the old man at the day care, but there was like 15% chance of it being shiny so it doesn't really count.

 

But I haven't found a single shiny in the wild since then excluding the Gyarados in Heart Gold ...

Well My Favorite First Shiny Pokemon other than the Shiny Red Gyrados from Pokemon G/S/C/HG/SS was a Shiny Golbat in Pokemon Ruby Version at the Sky Pillaer and now I encountered the same pokemon at the Victory Road in D/P.

Once, out of the hundreds of hours that I played Pokemon platinum. It could of been something much better but guess what? It was a damned bidoof . I avoided the areas with them like the plague, yet somehow ended up with a shiny version of it.

My first shiny Pokemon was actually the first wild Pokemon I ever encounted in LeafGreen: a Pikachu! I caught him with a regular Pokeball, and I will cherish him almost as much as I do Treeko(my first starter ever). I find it crazy how I can have feelings for a damn Pokemon on a Gameboy Advance cartridge I wish I could prove it but I don't currently have anything to play my GBA games on

 

Off topic, what is EV training? I had never heard of it until recently. It has something to do with stats, right?

Any shiny I find is almost always a bad Pokemon.

I found a shiny Stunky early in Diamond, and I later found its shiny evolution somewhere, but I goofed and turned off the game without saving after I healed at a Pokemon Center.

In Emerald or LeafGreen I found a shiny Tentacool and a shiny Zubat, but I forgot to transfer them to Diamond before I reset. :<

I've had a couple of shiny Pokemon, most notably a shiny Salamence. The most interesting catch however was within one hour of starting Pokemon black, I had acquired a shiny Lillipup, not the best, but at least not a Bidoof. It has now leveled up to a Stoutland.

It's funny when shinies appear for me. I have a shiny Tenta (caught as cool, since evolved into cruel, from SoulSilver), Jellicent (caught as Frillish, male), and Basculin. Of these, the only one I EV train off of is Basculin, which I found two of, but I mindlessly killed the first. I've encountered tens of thousands of Audino, Patrat, and Lillipup, but no dice. Then there's the matter of the astronomical amount of eggs I've hatched, likely also in the tens of thousands. I also would plan to name a shiny Stoutland, should I ever get one, Jake. As in Jake the dog. Yeah man.

 

I also found a shiny Geodude fairly early on in Pearl once, but I only had a few Pokeballs, none of which the damn thing stayed in.

 

On a fairly related note, it took me quite a while, but I got Pokerus while EV training a Cloyster in White. Carbon up there has Pokerus too, hopefully active on a few 'mons in his boxes, since it's inactive on Stoutland there.

 

My shiny Jelly has a neutral nature (meh), but a 31 SpA IV, which is pretty dang sweet. It's named Somalia and knows Energy Ball. If you're not keeling over in laughter now, I'd advise you to look up "energy ball jellicent somalia," click on the first link, and read that thread.
