Why are bronies so obsessed with spreading MLP?

Why do so many bronies seem hellbent on spreading ponies everywhere? A great many threads here are discussions on the best methods for "converting" people, complaining about people who don't like the show, and a generally unhealthy obsession with this show. With as serious as some people are about spreading MLP, it can seem very cult-like at times, and that is very unsettling. Why do you guys care so much about making everyone like the show anyway?

I can't speak for everyone, but I like to know that people I know around me enjoy the things I do too. If they don't like it, that's fine, but at the very least, they tried it. I like to be able to talk about what I enjoy to my family and friends. People on the internet however, it doesn't bother me either way.

I do mention it to my friends, but I don't say things like "oMGZ U MUST WATCH THIS SHOW IF YOU DON'T WATCH IT/DON'T LIKE IT I'LL HATE YOU FOREVER!!1!!!!1 I ONLY LIKE PEOPLE WHO LIKE MLP" stuff. But yeah, people like sharing common interests with their friends, I think that's why.

Personally I don't give a damn what haters say about us, sometimes I even stand side by side with haters against rabid idiot bronies.

 

Why some bronies are hellbent to spread FiM? Because for them, this fandom can be said as a lifesaver. FiM gave them new a meaning of life, and they thought if FiM works for them, it will also work for others, and the haters will thank them if they got converted

As a Noob in the fandom, I'll admit that I was more bent on spreading MLP. Not as much as normal noobs. But it was still there. I did learn eventually though. However, I don't think anti bronies yelling at bronies every time they do something actually helps and causes them to speared it more. Just a theory.

It's simple. It is because MLP FiM is happiness in every sense of the word. And who doesn't want to be happy?

 

Ok, maybe that's a bit of an extreme reason. But the fact is, it makes Bronies happy, and they in turn feel that others can be happy too if they watch it.

I don't understand this, myself. Nobody tried to "convert" me into liking it, despite living with a brony. It just kind of happened because I don't care what's on the tv when I'm not watching. I've not really tried to "convert" anybody else either, other than maybe saying "you might like this show."

Well I guess it's because they want to show other people who either are haters or doesn't even know about bronies, that bronies are awesome etc. And when somepony likes something, they find it even better when others like it too.

Because it's a quality cartoon that everybody should watch at least once. I, however, keep it to myself, since it is just a show. Although, if someone else does mention it I'll say something.

I like MLP and it has made my life happier. I think your a good friend and your life should be happier too, have you tried adding MLP?

 

Also, I know that most people who don't know about MLP will think that MLP is strictly for little girls. I may use hellbent strategies to convert people because there initial dislike for the subject matter is likely to be much higher than say trying a new fast food restaurant.

i dont actively convert people, i simply answer peoples questions, because people get curious, and yeah ill show them a fan made video or let them listen to a brony song, but basicly people convert them selfs

I put it two ways for me. If I were spreading it, I'd be posting everyday on every forum about ponies and starting falme wars with the haters like i did in my early stage. now I just reccomend it to people who arent haters, and that dont know what bronies are.

I spread it passively by using signatures and avatars of MLP characters on other forums, or use quotes from the show irl or when I am chatting... but I don't tell people that they should watch it. Although I do defend the show from criticism that generalizes the MLP fans in a negative way (i.e. Howard Stern Explores Bronies).

That's a good way to spread without being annoying in my opinion. I discovered friendship is magic because of the avatars of arlong park members so it works.

I talk about it to people but if they show no interest and don't want to talk about it, then I drop the subject and talk about something else. Heck, my brother now watches the show after watching an episode with me. Although he still denies watching it to anyone who asks.

 

Me, I never really care who knows that I watch the show. It's my life.
