Derpy Dash 233 August 12, 2012 Author Share August 12, 2012 Yeah! This is what I play now: I don't have any recent videos, but there is one from 2 years ago when I played bass drum #2: and one from indoor: Awesome! You guys sound really good! I would love to be in indoor drumline some day, but I'm not really willing to put even more time over our already long practice schedule.
bagelbass 29 August 12, 2012 Share August 12, 2012 I used to be a percussionist until I moved to a small private school that doesn't even have a band program. I didn't do marching band though. Lunar Guardian 80 August 12, 2012 Share August 12, 2012 Aha! I found this video of us doing last year's indoor winter show: "THE GRID." I play Bass #1 in this one.
DumbFabric 37 August 12, 2012 Share August 12, 2012 I'm in 11th grade and I play trumpet in the concert band and stage band at my school. I've been playing since 4th grade. Unfortunately, my school doesn't have a full out marching band, but in the past few years a drumline has been assembled, and I joined going into my sophomore year. I play the snare drum. I don't think there are any recent videos of any band from my school.
Juggler 345 August 12, 2012 Share August 12, 2012 I was in a concert band for many years. But we used to march on special occasions. I played the trumpet. I quit because I wanted more time for my juggling. Signature made by Midnightive
Lunar Guardian 80 September 2, 2012 Share September 2, 2012 (edited) Really? I know that our band is going to Orlando this year, and we take a trip like that every two years so maybe we'll be at that contest too! Woah! My band (as well as orchestras and choirs) going to that event also! It seems like this is a fairly popular musical event. I used to be a stranger 7,993 September 2, 2012 Share September 2, 2012 I have this fantasy that someone would transcribe the Parasprite Polka for marching band, and then perform it at a Con or something so people would start following.

That would be cool though. Parasprite Polka is freakin epic

Thunderbolt 35 October 25, 2012 Share October 25, 2012 I've played Snare for Marching band since 7th grade(Now in 9th grade), along our tiny band of about 30 people. I was thinking of quitting this year, but I think i will stay another year or two, Its just that a couple people in the band, (particularly Drumline) who are just total dicks. Well they are in their Jr. year now, so another year and they will be gone. I also have a drum set at home, mabye I'll upload a video or something sometime in the future. be my waifu 2,842 October 26, 2012 Share October 26, 2012 Yeah! I play these awesome drums now: *snip* (They're so heavy! ) Tenors, fuck yeah. I've been playing these for a year and I love it. And they are heavy, but not as bad as the largest bass we have... I've been in my high school band for 3 years now. I do marching, concert, and play the set in jazz band. Our marching festival is this coming Tuesday, actually.
I used to be a stranger 7,993 October 27, 2012 Share October 27, 2012 Has anyone transposed the Pinkie Pie Parasprite Polka for marching band? That would be a good song for people to play as a group, seeing as the original was written for one-pony band.
RippedOffMattress 314 October 28, 2012 Share October 28, 2012 No but my school band teacher was BEGGING me to join. I'm glad I didn't sign up though because another percussionist in the school and marching band keeps telling me about it and it sounds awful. Yeah there's some fun sounding music here and there, but to have to go to EVERY play EVERY Friday is too much for me. I'm kind of a lazy person when it comes to constant traveling. Standard User 2,127 November 15, 2012 Share November 15, 2012 I play alto saxophone in the marching band, wind ensemble, and jazz band. Gotta love that jazz. In my high school years we've played Anthropology, Body and Soul, Wave, Slipstream, and I just realized that no one probably recognizes these names and YouTube loads so slowly for me. But...yeah. Jazz. oOo RIP Forums Writing Centre ;_; oOo
Zygen 6,066 November 15, 2012 Share November 15, 2012 I am in marching band and we're currently doing symphonic band! I play the trumpet and I love our band and our band director is awesome . I'm still a freshman, but I'm already in love with our band. I can't say we made any overly stunning achivements. And to be honest I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post our band stuff on here. Plus i'd rather keep my school a secret. I love it though thats for sure, can't wait for it next year already! 1 Thanks to Gone Airbourne for the awesome sig! Shanks 10,816 November 17, 2012 Share November 17, 2012 I joined the band in middle school and started taking lessons just shortly after discovering my talent for music, I played piano and cymbals. I really got jamming when I joined my high school jazz band as a piano player. Rarity Get's Cockroaches
TheTEChguy27 273 November 17, 2012 Share November 17, 2012 I play snare drum for my school's marching band. It's a lot easier on the back than the bass drum I played last year. Our marching band doesn't do any fancy movements on the football field, but we participate in local parades and play for the homecoming football game. We also go to Disney World every four years, and I got to go last year! Hopefully I'll be upgraded to the tenor drums next year, those are fun to play. Appleloosa 90 November 11, 2013 Share November 11, 2013 I actually missed my audition date and got placed in the pit. (I'm a drummer) well, after like one practice I left. Does that count? (I never got to experience band camp ) other than that, I've done symphonic band from 4th grade to highschool, was in the wind ensemble, and jazz band. I'd like to think I'm a pretty good . Currently, I'm looking to start a band though
Treble Bolt 1,122 November 11, 2013 Share November 11, 2013 Proud member of the Chi-Hi Marching Cardinals!!! Well...I once was...until I graduated...If there is anything I could relive from High school, it would be band...I am a band GEEK and it has only become more of infection to me...I had to get a tattoo on my wrist to remind me of band. I went to collage that did not have a band program, so I was very unhappy with that. I thought about going to college for music...but that'd take the joy right out of it for me if I made it a career. I played trombone in marching band, symphonic band, 2 jazz bands and was the only 'bone player in pit for our 2009 musical "Fiddler on the roof"....I also played bari sax in another jazz band....Since then I've aquired and learned many more instruments (look at my ask me in my sig) "In fire iron is born, by fire it is tamed"
Musix 237 November 11, 2013 Share November 11, 2013 (edited) I'm not in a marching band... Morgielouwho 223 November 11, 2013 Share November 11, 2013 I did both concert and marching. The flute. I was also a varsity cheerleader so I would march in my cheer uniform, hand someone my stuff and book it across the field in time to perform with the cheerleaders. Lol I also did winter guard. Let me see if I can dig up some videos on YouTube.
Fluttershyfan94 5,742 November 11, 2013 Share November 11, 2013 I've never been in a marching band, I've never really been interested in it. Besides I think there aren't any in my country or I wouldn't know I haven't even checked. If I was ever going to play an instrument it would have been a guitar. Avatar tag: shipping 299 November 12, 2013 Share November 12, 2013 I was in the marching band when I was in high school. When we started band in middle school, I planned on being percussion. The day we were to choose instruments no one chose to play the tuba. I figured I would take one for the team and play it. Long story short, I carried that sousaphone on the field, played tuba in symphonic band, and met some of my best friends. I loved being in band. 1 Sig by the one and only Doc Volt!
