I'm a fan of the fourth one myself, although I do like the third one as well. It gives off that Everfree feeling because of the flowing lines, and the fact it's a bird.

There are still some bigs in the game. Try relogging and see if that doesn't If not just try at a later time, sometimes the "represent" buttong works sometimes it doesn't.

I vote for Number 2.

@@Bohtty, I think I like number three (3) the most out of all of those, seems to fit. Also no background is fine with me. I don't care about the colors much either, as long as they aren't something clashing and horrific. :P

Also, Fluttertree anypony? xD

I like Number 2 myself, but the bird could work as well.

And yeah, I just thought being a new member and all the character limit was to deter people BSing their way through ranks. Appears not to be that way.

Fluttertree could work well too, I like it.

I actually made another ranger as a sylvari, and named her Flutter Spruce (Only tree i could think of that slid off the tounge >.>)

Hopefully this maintenance fixes the problems with the guilds so that I will actually be able to see the "Make Guild Emblem" option. xD

Hopefully it's not to late, but honestly option 2 seems to be the best choice, in my opinion. And one other thing, does anyone know if arena pvp is cross-server, or confined to your chosen server?

According to the wiki, structured PvP is cross-server. WvW is, of course, cross server. So ya, you can fight with or against people from other servers. All the info you could ever need: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Structured_PvP

Veil, I do beleive the structured pvp is cross server.

Also, I just wanted to see if anyone else was having a problem representing the guild on a alternate toon. My main (Spyhunter Bg) Can represent the guild, but NONE of my alts (Flutter Spruce, Queen Chrysalys, Darling Rarity) can represent the guild, see guild chat, anything.

Anyone got this problem?

Quick note about WvW. I decided to try out to see what it was like today, do not make the same mistake. Were up against Blackgate who is dominating both us and the other sever were up against. We are fairing slightly better then them but only barely. I wonder if it will ever reset as that's probably our only hope...

I think I remember hearing from one of the betas that it's a bracket sort of deal, with winners fighting winners and losers fighting losers. That way you fight increasingly worse or better servers. Could be wrong about that though. They also reset the fights every week or so if my memory serves me right.

EDIT: From the wiki: Worlds in WvW are matched up based on their ranking using a modified Glicko rating,[4] so that high-ranked worlds will battle other high-ranked worlds, and low-ranked worlds will battle other low-ranked worlds. This ensures that every world has a fair chance of winning matches despite differing levels of player participation or skill.[5]

@ LFE

That is vary helpful, and good to know. its nice to know that if you do bad you will fight lower servers, if you do good you fight high ranked servers. sounds like that they got it down pat to me. lets just hope the next one we are in we can do better then this one.

So, I have to know, am I the only one who is running into the game (I assume it's GW2 doing this because prior to installation my computer NEVER did this...) causing their computer to RANDOMLY restart? I have a funny feeling that it's because of a memory leak in game, because it only happens after about 2 hours of play time, indicating a cumulative problem. My screen will go black, my power will cut, and the computer will restart and ask me if I want to start in Safe Mode. NO.

Everything looks like it's running fine otherwise, and the computer performs normally outside GW2. I'm not running any weak system either. It's an Asus gaming Laptop. Relatively new, under 6 months...We've named it "The Beast". If I don't HAVE to take it to the Geek Squad I don't wanna..But if this is just me, I may end up having to. So has anyone else had this happen to them?

Do you have any idea how hot the laptop is getting? Awhile back I installed a second video card in my desktop so I could use SLI, but the heat was causing severe instability (crashing). Adding in another fan and propping up the case has since fixed the issue. Anyway that's about my only idea at the moment. I could always be completely wrong though. :P

I have SpeedFan installed just for this purpose. I'll have to keep it running for when the game is going I suppose. To my knowledge, the fans don't even KICK ON. And then the computer restarts instantly, telling me also that it isn't a heat dispersal issue. If it was hot, it wouldn't restart at all. The first model I had of this laptop had NO fans functioning and it did that so I've got experience on that one : I'll definitely keep an eye on the temps on the GPU though, I SUPPOSE the GPU fan could've died without me knowing somehow and THAT'S why it doesn't kick on....Argh. -_- I mean literally it runs fine otherwise. Ech....

New laptops will shut off if the heat gets to dangerous levels. Usually this is somewhere around 212F? Somewhere around there. I would install a program that checks the core temps if ASUS does not already give you one. Are you running max settings? Have you tried any other graphic intensive games like Skyrim, Fallout, Crysis etc?

This hasn't happened to me ever as my GW usually makes my computer run anywhere from 170 to 180.

I'm hearing a lot about this game and it gives me doubts.

Can you tell me about the experiece of playing this game?

Is it worth it?

I can't really purchase it since i think it's only by credit card, and my uncle can't pay 60 dollars with credit card.

Do you need to pay monthly to keep playing? If it is like that, then forget about it, won't even pay a cent.

Well that happened to me... but not with a laptop.

I could fix it by changing the voltage source of my computer to another one with more power, now it works fine.

But i don't know how can you fix that in a laptop, i'm not sure if it's the same or not.

@@The Milkman,

Here is my review of the game from someone who was very very VERY skeptical at the start:

The first thing I noticed was that the combat is more than just trading blows. I knew that the combat was real time before I played, but I was very skeptical. It was only until I fought a monster 3 levels higher than myself and won without taking damage. For me the combat was most important since its what you'll be doing the most.

The second thing I noticed was that I wasn't notice quests. At least not in the traditional sense. They are called tasks in this game and they appear when your in the area relevant to that task. There are a lot of group actives where players just get together to work on the same task collectively without knowing each other.

Some other things I noticed, but in no particular order was that the maps are REALLY big and well designed. The landscapes are gorgeous (especially in the human capitol) and it actually makes the walk entertaining. Additionally I've noticed that leveling doesn't really scale exponentially as you get higher levels. It does get harder, but it's hardly noticeable and I rarely find myself watching the exp bar.

The game also promotes exploring. There are 5 types of points on the maps: karma tasks, Points of interest, Vistas, Portal... things and skill points. You get exp for discovering each one and when you find all of them in the map you get a very generous reward. The vistas are like mini jump quests as they are usually positioned in hard to reach, but not impossible, locations. You also get exp from gathering materials which you can do simply by buying the tool required. I have not actually grinded on any mobs at all and I am currently lvl 28. I get most of my exp from the story line, discovering all the points on the map, and from gathering.

side note, the voice acting is actually nicely done imo and the story line quest was the first time I have EVER, EVER, cared about an MMO's lore and back story.

I haven't gotten too much pvp, but I can say that it was a lot more interesting than WoW's pvp, thats for sure. Everyone is on equal grounds in terms of equipment, levels and skill points so it's pretty even and skill based.

The crafting system is pretty mediocre since it's just the basic recipe craft system. Nothing interesting there.

Another big difference is that the skills you have depend on both the weapon you are using and the class you choose. Each class can use a different array of weapon and each one gives different skills. Ex: A Warrior with a hammer will have different hammer skills than a Guardian with a hammer. The skill points are earned not from leveling, buy from completing the tasks at the different skill point points on the maps. There is a lot of personal preference in the skills and even though they don't really change, I like the set up because it promotes skill in combat as aposed to just stronger skills.

Thats about it for the gameplay

The game is one time purchase. Buy the CD and you can play forever for free. I am assuming that, like Guild Wars 1, Guild Wars 2 will be or is already available at retail stores as well as online. I usually do not like games like this, but this is the exception. This is the first time that I've been addicted to an MMO in over five years of playing many different mmos. Something about it just seems to click with me and hopefully it would with you.

TL;DR: Yes it's worth it. So, so, worth it.

I appreciate a lot your reply, very detailed and well redacted...

You convinced me in buying the game, since from what i've readed from you, it seems very interesting and i've been away from MMO games since 2010 and i wanna get back to it now that i have a gaming PC.

However i will just buy it if it comes out in retail version, and it impressed me a lot that you don't need to pay monthly for it.

It should be in retail stores. Check the usual (ex: Walmart, Gamestop, Best buy, etc.)

I know one of our guild members recently got his Collectors Edition version which he had to pick up in person. So, I am assuming that if they had the collectors editions that they also have the regular versions. xD

Glad you liked my wall of text. The game actually converted me. I was surprised none the less.
