Fear Factor. I don't see why someone would swim in raw cow blood, eat bull's ball sacks, cover themselves in Snakes, jump from a car to a bus nearly risking their lives, and we cannot forget when they shaved a poor, innocent lady's head bald.

But to be honest.. I still laugh at the people who go on that show!

Some of those used to be good, but are terribly overrated now.

I honestly think Adventure Time is overrated... I couldn't stand 5 minuets of it. It just is such a dumb show, that truly makes no sense...

 

I'll be dead honest, how on EARTH did you come to like My Little Pony if you couldn't even stand Adventure Time for five minutes? five minutes is like the entire MLP intro. You could stand pastel ponies for 2 seasons, but you couldn't stand adventure for five minutes. Just fuckin saying.

 

I think Doctor Who is overrated.

My friend Allison just finally forced me to watch 2 Broke Girls...it is utter crap

Almost all crime shows are overrated at this point. Criminal Minds and Law and Order are fine but then CSI came out and it was fine at first but then there were way too many spin off shows. Seriously why do I need to watch a show with the same basic plot but this time it's in Miami? Sorry if I offended anypony with that it's just that I really don't care for crime shows that much and don't keep up with them so I'm not even sure if my facts are 100% accurate. I'll watch a show every once and a wile but I don't watch the new episodes weekly.

 

American Idol and America's Got Talent are also overrated. Over half of the airtime is stalling, advertisement, pointless suspense, and background stories that nopony really cares about. America's Got Talent is a little better to watch because they show things other than singing which can get really boring. And why does anyone other than singer even audition for America's got Talent? As far as I know, only singers have ever one that show. Again, I don't keep up with it so I wouldn't know. But if you consider yourself a fan just ask yourself this question: Who won last year? If you can't answer that question then you aren't that very big of a fan.

 

And what else is overrated? Almost everything on the Discovery channel and the History channel. When was the last time you turned on those channels and actually saw a documentary on? And how are swamp people history? I don't know but apparently somepony at the History channel thought so. I miss the days when the discovery channel actually showed documentaries, not just some glorified truckers in Canada and Alaska. Don't get me wrong, every now and then they'll have a good documentary that's worth watching. Oh well, at least there's one week that the Discovery channel will actually show documentaries (even though half of them are reruns): Shark Week.

 

Most sitcoms these days are overrated too. I can't name a single good sitcom since Seinfeld ended. The Big Bang Theory is a prime example. I watched it a little and sort of liked it at first but then I came to my senses. Those guys are not good examples of geniuses. "whoa he said a big word I've never heard before. He must be a genius". It used to be that you had to come up with something that nopony has ever thought of before to be considered a genius. Now you can just become a genus like this: "hey I got some extra cups in case we run out" "dude you're a genius!" . Sheldon's meme's are still funny though.

 

Wow I just typed a lot . Makes me wonder why it took me so long to write that essay earlier today... Again, please don't hate on me for what I just said. I'm simply stating my opinions and why I think them.

Any show made by Cartoon Network in the past 4 years. Adventure Time, Regular Show, MAD, Chowder are severly overrated. As well as most of todays sitcoms, especially Big Bang Theory. All of my friends love it, but I don't see how it's funny.

Ditto. There's barely any plot to this, it's basically an "adventure" but it clearly isn't because I can't tell what his main goal was, besides fending off the Ice King many times and trying too many times to ask Princess Bubblegum out.

 

On another note, I think the Boy Meets World and Saved By the Bell are completely overrated because they put it on MTV2, like why? Why didn't they put those two shows on TBS instead? No offense, but I think the laugh track is overused and the two shows basically lacks true comedy or humor in my eyes.

Coming from MOCpages, Star Wars the Clone Wars is insanely overrated, poor plot, awful looking animation, and just plain boring.

 

But for me, it is Glee. Just too much teen drama for my taste. Any musical themed TV shows are overrated.

Discovery Channel Canada has this one really awesome documentary series called Mayday (It airs as Air Emergency in the US, and is on Nat Geo from time to time). It's basically this series that covers famous and/or not well-known air disasters or near disasters and how they happened. It's a shame they don't show it on the Discovery Channel here in the USA, because Nat Geo is far behind on the episode list Edited September 5, 2012 by akimBrony

Family Guy. All they do is rely on jokes that have already been established wether it is through popular culture, or if it's through the show itself without really adding anything else. Also, all the jokes are just flashbacks now.

 

I've heard similar things about The Big Bang Theory, but I've never watched that, so I can't comment.

 

I also agree with @@Bohtty when he says that Doctor Who is overrated, but I still love that show to bits. It's pretty much entertained me throughout my childhood, and got me into horror films.

For me, probably...Danny Phantom. Don't get me wrong, the premise was great and I liked some of the characters. But I couldn't stand Danny himself. I think it's because he kept trying to be witty and, to me, it just failed. It's by no means a BAD show, just not for me.

Adventure Time. I dunno, I've tried it at a friend's recommendation, and I'm extremely random so I thought I might like it....but it's just not my cup of tea.

I loved this show to death for the most part, but this last season has really been mediocre to me. It just seems like FG has it that dreaded phase where creativity is slowly draining away (Certain times, low creativity doesn't affect me, but since FG has gotten less and less funny to me this last season, it does bother me)

 

I don't really have a list of overrated shows also due to the fact that I don't like it when someone calls something "overrated". I prefer to say, "I don't like it as much as other people do", or, "I hate this show yet everyone else likes it"
