Okay, for me, the link in AegisReflector's first post works, but the second link in the later post doesn't work - no big deal, but for anyone else who couldn't access the bracket earlier, maybe using the first link will work for you.

 

Also, I noticed in the bracket that Snow Patrol is listed twice - in Game 13 (lower left) and in Game 25 (middle right).

Yeah, I can see some painful matchups down the line for me, including two of mine in Game 10 (Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers vs. The Beach Boys). All five of my nominated artists are in, although I don't know what their chances are of surviving the first round - I have never really heard the artists they're up against.

I all did this on Randomizer. I would have matched them up more fairly but most of the bands that are in are mostly in the Metal/Rock genre, so it was hard to pair them up on my own, so I did it at Random.

 

Can someone explain to me why the videos aren't working on here?

 

Okay, Sigur Ros replaced Snow Patrol (2), so the bracket should now be completely fixed. Thanks for being completely patient with me, guys.

 

As soon as I figure out the video problems, then we can restart the first match. Sound fair?

Also, when I click the "Show Results" button, it says that 10 members have cast votes, but I only see one for Bon Jovi and zero for Megadeth.

Can we start a discussion on the brackets? If so...

 

-I'm seeing Matches 2, 6, 11, 12, 14, 16-18 as the most interesting

-I also expect landslides in Matches 4, 5, 13, 18, 20, 21, 29 and 30

-If Queen, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Iron Maiden, AC/DC or Rush don't get passed the first round...

-The Beatles vs. Anal Cunt?! Holy shit that's gonna be AWESOME!!!

-The most even matchup I've seen thus far in this round would be between Tenacious D and Weird Al, or Nightwish and System of a Down. An interesting placement, to say the least.

Based on what I've picked, I won't get passed the second round (third round if I'm lucky as fuck). My best choice (Evile) is put up against Weezer (and I can see Weezer as a heavy favourite) so I know I won't get anywhere with that unless I get lucky, while I have Coroner up against Daft Punk which is a no-contest pick. Best case scenario is Evile vs. Daft Punk and and from what I known is a dead match there.

 

My Devin Townsend choice MIGHT get lucky, but I don't have much info on the Reel Big Fish, so all I can say is I'm at 50/50 until the song comes up. Either way, it wouldn't matter because I KNOW for a fact that Rush will move on next, and that means whatever pick goes against Rush will be saying adios.

 

As far as my favourites in the game, I see Meshuggah and Megadeth as Round 3 max, AC/DC to the quarterfinals, and Rush and either Pink Floyd or Led Zeppelin at the semi-finals.

 

What's your guys' opinion? Who's your favourites? =3

 

...oh yeah, I vote Megadeth for obvious reason.

Rather unlucky pairing, some of my favorite newer bands vs my favorite older bands xD

 

Although im predicting Distubed vs Crush 40 to be a landslide win for Distubed and Stone sour vs Bowling For Soup to be a win too.

 

I think that Fightstar may just win over Blackmill, depending on which song i chose for them first xD

If this becomes successful enough (and no more problems arise), the next tournament might be a little more fair. It's just that most of these bands were in the Hard Rock genre so I didn't really have a set way of organizing them all. If it seems a bit off, all feedback is appreciated, since like I said, if this one works then I could do another in the future.

Hmm, i'm feeling a little more confident after reading through the first song selections though. Led Zeppelin "Black Dog" vs Blink-182 "Feeling This", Black dog isn't their best song, Blink may just win it, but it'll be close.

 

Iron Maiden "Hallowed be thy name" vs A Day to Remember "All i want". I think Iron Maiden may just take it, but ADTR does have a slight chance.

 

AC/DC "Highway to hell" vs Snow Patrol "Chasing cars" There is no way Snow Patrol will take this, highway to hell is an amazing song.

 

Blackmill "Miracle" vs Fightstar "Palahinuk's Laughter" i suppose it will come down to preference of electronic music vs rock music.

if Beethoven can get to Round 3 or the Quarterfinals, then it could possibly happen. It's a matter of those who like classical vs. those who like the other choice better.

If John Mellencamp, Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers, or The Beach Boys can manage to beat Beethoven, then one of my artists would make the Sweet Sixteen. That's probably the best I can hope for. We'll have to see if the members here like one of my artists better than Beethoven.
