I've never added anyone to my list. Out of my list of 20 friends (I'm so popular, rite guize?), all of them have added me

 

I don't really have deep or meaningful conversations with any of them, however...

I try not to be too narrow when adding or accepting friends.

 

Unless you're very rude, very arrogant, very annoying, or I simply don't know you, then you can probably get on my friends list. Either by you adding me or me adding you.

I don't actively search for new people to slam onto a friendship list, but if I happen to bump into someone that seems similar to myself or someone that I think is genuinely interesting then I'll very likely add them.

I really feel like I should branch out from my surprisingly small group of friends, because I only have about 5 people across the internet that I regularly do stuff with.

This is the same for me. If someone talks to me than I don't have a problem talking to them but I have yet to initiate a conversation. In fact I've only ever received 3 PMs and one was just for joining the forums (it doesn't count).

 

I haven't added a single person, all the people on my list added me, some of them I'd never even seen . I haven't really talked to any of them much. But I'm not strict with the 'friends' if you want to add me then add me it really doesn't matter. I don't actually have any real friends on these forums just acouple aquaintances, this forum is entertaining though so it doesn't bug me.

I accept all friend requests, even if they're by blank flanks and muffins. Why? Because why the hell not? I never look at my friend's list because it's something that isn't important to me. I know who my pals are.

 

Who knows, by accepting a Blanker's/Muffin's request, it might make their day that a prominent member is open to being their friend and it inspires them to stay active on the forums and make a name for themselves. By accepting requests, it's not for my sake, its for the requester's.

I add everyone who seems big or popular in B/P ratio. I also accept any friend request. I DID delete one person, but it was only because he was annoying me. I'll try to be a little more tolerant though, so I'll add him for the hell of it . There are a few people who I would consider "friends" or just people I can get along with real good. I mean, I like everyone here, but there are some people I prefe more than others. Like, I sorta prefer Devin McCourty, Twilie'Zorah, Crona, and yes, Dragonshy after yesterday's little conversation.

ah, I never add friends on any site I've ever been on. I'd rather just wait to be added. even on sites where there's an advantage to having people on your friend list, I still don't add them.

 

there is one exception to that though. there was this one guy on a forum who was super cool. we talked a lot, had a very similar sense of humour and shared similar types of creativity and often bounced ideas off each other. the problem was that he had the same rule as me, where he doesn't add friends. I finally gave up after several months and added him

If I've played games with them, or we share other common interests (besides ponies) I'll send a friend request their way. if they don't like that fact, no big issue.

Hm... generally, when ever I send a PM, I'll friend to pony as well. However, ponies that I get to know well on the forums through certain topics or skype, i friend as well.

I dont know? Because I do not really have any good friends on here besides my real life ones. No one else talks to me on here...so I guess I really use the forums to help out problems or state my opinions

I generally don't "friend" people myself, seeing as how the system really is rather pointless (akin to Facebook friending where most poeple just add everyone they know), and plus, if I friended one person, I'd have to friend everyone. There have been a few exceptions, but only in the cases where I actually do consider the recipient my friend.

 

As for friendship itself, it's really not that hard to get in my good books. ^^ Don't be a douche, maybe share a couple of interests, and have a friendly chat with me a couple of times.

 

The awkward thing is, though, that looking back at the first two pages of this thread, it seems like a lot of members have the same policy as me to wait for others to friend them first. Which basically means that there will be a lot of members I'm on friendly terms with that won't ever make it to my friends list.

Most of the times if someone send me a friend request I will accept it. I don't have too much expectation on some friend list on the internet. I rarely if ever send any friend request, I'm just passive like that when it comes to online relationship :/

I don't actively look for anyone. But if someone adds me to their friend list, I will accept it. If anyone tries to add me on Steam or Skype, etc, its a bit different, it depends on if I know you better than just 1 or 2 conversations.

On forums I'll sometimes add people I find myself talking to often, but at the same time I'll have friends I've known for years that aren't on my "list." The list is just kind of a silly thing that's there, but it's not definitive of who is or isn't my friend at all. I feel like friendships and social groups on forums are fairly obvious if you watch closely enough and everyone knows who they care about, anyway, so it's just there because... I don't really know...

 

Some people seem to have fun with it.
