Around July-ish.

What episode, scene, or fanon made her/him your official favorite?

Lesson Zero, but she's been up there.

 

Why did you like him/her because of that?

I like how similar me and Twilly are. We are both intelligent, dorky, somewhat paranoid (shown in that episode), and how we both were antisocial.

1) Rarity

 

2) Really sometime pretty far into the show.  It was sometime in maybe mid/late 2012 that I started to realize how good a character she was, and I really realized how much I enjoyed watching Suited For Success.  It's still my favorite episode from season 1.

 

3) Again, it's from my repeated watchings of Suited for Success.

 

4) That episode more than any other showed who she really is.  She's not just a pony who's into fashion, she's an artist, a designer with a real passion for her work.  I like it when a work takes a field or occupation that others might be dismissive of and really shows how much talent, effort, and knowledge it takes. She is generous with her time and energy.  She wants to look good herself, but she's more concerned with satisfying others and she bends over backwards despite her own fashion instincts to make them happy.

 

And then that's when I realized how interesting she was because she's still extremely vain.  Her vanity and her generosity seem like they should contradict each other, but they don't.  Why should they?  Just because you're into your own carefully maintained appearance doesn't mean that you can't be considerate of others.

1) a three way tie between Applejack, Luna and Twilight Sparkle

 

2) Applejack has been my favorite pony since I first started watching, Luna creeped up a little bit and tied a few months later or so but Twilight took quite a bit longer and jumped from #3, 2 before tying with AJ and Luna.

 

3) There wasn't a particular episode of scene that made me love Applejack that I can identify, but her episodes which are like her seriously underrated sure gave me plenty of reasons to love her especially Apple Family Reunion. It was Luna eclipsed that really made me fall in love with Luna as a character, I am a sucker for a good redemption story and I can relate to Luna's struggles to fit in to modern, mainstream pony society and how so many ponies feared and hated her. I overlooked Twilight at first because I guess I have a bit of a blind spot when it comes to "leader" characters, but she started to really grow on me when I started re watching some episodes and realizing that she is pretty awesome. The final shove that got her to the top ironically was Twilicorn which I hated but at least did remind me of what I do like about her and still thankfully has a shot of working out.

 

4) I see myself in all 3 of them though for Twilight it did take me a little longer to see that, and I greatly admire Applejack because I like real and genuine characters and Applejack is as real and genuine as they come. I like the positive message a character like Applejack sends that it is important to be honest and true to yourself and others and that even though life can be cruel and times can be tough that you can still find some hope. Luna has that rare combination that I really like in characters and it is that she is both strong and vulnerable at the same time, she is the princess of the night yet she struggles for acceptance after being banished for 1000 years. And I like Twilight's thirst for knowledge and learning and I like that that is being viewed as a good thing by virtue of her character but that balance is also important in life.

2. Rainbow Dash has been my favorite pony since The Best Night Ever, which she was really adorable in it. Twilight Sparkle became one of my favorite ponies since Lesson Zero, Scootaloo since Cutie Mark Chronicles, and as for Applejack I loved her since Look Before You Sleep.

 

3. The scene that made me like Rainbow Dash was when she fangirled in The Best Night Ever, when she finally got to meet the Wonderbolts at the VIP line.

 

4. I like Rainbow Dash because, of how she is characterized as being loyal to her friends.

1) Well I now officially have a two-way tie between Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy.

2) Rainbow Dash was my favourite since I joined the fandom early this year and just over the past few days Rainbow Dash became tied with Fluttershy for favourite.

3)Rainbow Dash: 20% Cooler

Fluttershy: Any scene where she is being really nice or has to overcome a very daunting obstacle.

4)Rainbow Dash: 20% Cooler is catchy.

Fluttershy: This is pretty much all relatable to stuff that's gone on in my life (overcoming challenges, social awkwardness, not very much self-confidence, very kind to others and always willing to listen to friends to help them solve their problems, and extremely shy).

When did you start having that pony as your favorite? - Around one year ago. Prior to that point, Applejack was my favourite.

What episode, scene, or fanon made her/him your official favorite? - I'd always had a weakness for her cute overall appearance and carefree personality, but it wasn't until I read three fanfics, The Ballad of Derpy Hooves, Derpy's Cloud, and More Than Buddies, that I completely fell head over heels for this adorable, grey ball of distilled cute.
 

Why did you like him/her because of that? - She just pushes all the right buttons in me. *ALL* of them.

I should probably write an entire blog post about this one subject alone...

   I love Rainbow Dash because I have a lot in common with her, I have a desire to prove myself and be there for my friends, whether they want me or need me, moreover I am honest with my friends and people to a fault, also I admire Rainbow's abilities, like great speed and agility that can break the sound barrier, plus I love her rainbow coloured and natural looking mane.

 

   I love Applejack because I do a lot of things that Applejack does, working hard and spending time with my friends, as though they were my family, in addition Applejack is the most mature pony of the mane six, as she is the foundation that keeps the mane six grounded, AJ is also quick to apologise and is most responsible pony, and she would brave the situation and encourage the other ponies to rally and overcome, furthermore I love her freckles.

When did you start having that pony as your favorite?
Lemme think...I became a Brony in the first week of September 2013; If I gave an exact date and time, I'd be lying. First episode I watched was Hurricane Fluttershy, which doesn't even have Rarity in it. Didn't know she existed. My favorite was Fluttershy until I watched Equestria Girls that night, which was my 2nd MLP-based thing to ever do. Rarity took the #1 spot during that movie; I'm not gonna lie, at first, I thought she was a villain, or someone who Twilight had beaten out to be princess. (She ran up to Twilight and was like "TWILIGHT! WHERE'S YOUR CROWN?! I'D WEAR IT EVERYDAY!" It didn't irk me or anything, but I was a noob. I feel bad about it now ) Then, later, I was like, "You know, I actually think she's just as cool as Fluttershy." Past that first line in the movie. So she was gonna be my #2. 

 

But, the more I watched it, the more I was getting into her character; I found myself paying attention to her character, even in spots where she had no lines, was just standing there, part of the group. I was starting to notice Rarity over Fluttershy. So, for a while, she was equal to Fluttershy. 

 

So unofficial favorite, with Fluttershy. #1 and #1.
What episode, scene, or fanon made her/him your official favorite?
It wasn't an episode, scene, or fanon. That same night, I'd been watching some MLP, right? I knew Afterwards was a brony, and already a close friend of mine through fanfiction.net, and I felt I was around to stay, so I thought I'd let him know.

 

"Hey, dude, I'm a brony."

 

"OMGOMGOMG! Which one is your favorite?"

 

This is when Rarity became my official favorite; I answered Rarity subconsciously. I really didn't even think about it until after I had sent it.

 

So, she was my official #1, and Fluttershy was #2.

 

Meh. She was my favorite, I guess.

 

Anyway, I had a history of losing interest in characters and changing favorites after awhile, so I wasn't really expecting her to be in place forever, you know? I mean, I'd stick around fandoms forever (I took place in parts of the Ace Attorney fandom from when I was 13 until I became a brony.) but my favorite characters would always change, almost monthly.

 

But, damn, man. Every line Rarity said kept making her more and more my favorite. It's never gonna change She's not only my favorite pony by a landslide now, but my #1 character out of any series or anything of the sort by a landslide.

But oh well, getting to fanboy over Rarity makes me happy, so I'm keeping it like it is.

I have to say my favorite pony is Rainbow Dash, although Applejack is a very close second.

 

When did you start having that pony as your favorite?

I believe it was at some point during the first episodes I watched.

What episode, scene, or fanon made her/him your official favorite?

This I don't remember, as said above somewhere during the beginning.

Why did you like him/her because of that?

Dash is most often seen as the "cool" pony, and my reason for liking her has some to do with that. However I think it goes a bit deeper than just her self proclaimed awesomeness. When it comes to the mane six, the pony I resemble the most is actually Fluttershy. My passivity and social anxiety is something I've always struggled with, and those where things about myself I didn't like at all. I've always been drawn to strong personalities and wished I displayed the same attitude they portray. So when I see Rainbow Dash being well, Rainbow Dash, I am instantly drawn to her. Because just as Fluttershy is was (seems she's overcoming her issues, as I am) a cartoon embodiment of what I disliked about myself the most, Rainbow Dash is the cartoon embodiment of what I wish I had in me, even when she's a self centered jerk, because sometimes I wish I could be a self centered jerk, but I'm too "nice" for that.

I love them all, but without a doubt, Applejack is my favorite by a country mile.
When did you start having that pony as your favorite?
I joined the fandom between seasons 1 and 2, so while I was watching through the series on YouTube, it wasn't long until Applejack captured my heart and ran far away with it. By the time I finished all 26 episodes of season 1, I was sure AJ was my favorite pony. I liked her immediately from the start, but I wasn't sure of who my favorite was right away, although I was initially leaning towards Rainbow Dash.

What episode, scene, or fanon made her/him your official favorite?

I don't recall there ever being a particular defining moment that made me love her. It just seemed like with every passing episode I would grow to find her more and more appealing, whether it was the revealing of her flaws, her numerous displays of integrity, or her boundless amount of charms, I couldn't help but grow more smitten as the first season progressed. I would definitely cite Applebuck Season and Fall Weather Friends as her most important episodes of the first season, but If I had to name any one episode or scene that stood out to me, it would be her actions in Dragonshy.

Why did you like him/her because of that?

Although Dragonshy is not an Applejack centric episode, she did a couple of things that stood out in a big way. When Fluttershy was struggling, it was Applejack who decided to take her around the mountain another way, proving that AJ is caring, responsible, and above all, a true leader. As much of a pain as Fluttershy was due to her fears, AJ never once lost patience, and was actually very supportive and did her best to try and comfort Fluttershy. And if all of that weren't enough, AJ also managed to save Twilight from getting crushed during the avalanche. These details might seem minor at first glance, but really, Applejack played one of the most important parts of that episode, and demonstrated just why she's such a strong and admirable character.
