Alright well i planned on picking up an electric sometime soon. I'm decent enough to do some shredding and solos of those sorts. But does anyone know where i should start? I want to keep it withing the 700 dollar price range. It needs a good bridge, good pickups, and a whammy is a must...

anybody have a good direction to go for this?

Check out some Ibanez RG's. I have an Ibanez RG7321 that I picked up for $500, but just because I was looking for a lower budget model to try out 7 string guitars. It sounds well, if we're going with stock pick ups, and the necks are amazingly playable. I don't care for whammy bars, so I just got a fixed bridge, but I know that they have 6 strings with their whammy bars. Though I believe that they have locking tuners.

Ah yes i was looking for very versatile necks... thank you! i'll be looking into the ibanez RG's i see a few that may work, just needed a whammy so i could get a wider range.
