So has anyone made a huge mistake in a game? Like forgetting potions before the final boss, or forgetting the wright weapon. This has happen to me twice.

When I was playing Meabots, I was trying to get threw this door to get to the final boss. Then I found out I needed a certain part to break the door down. Kinda like in Pokemon. Then looking threw my inventory, I saw that I did not have the part and it was in area that I could not get to. Also the game would not let me go back. So after all that hard work I had to restart the whole game.

Another time when I was playing Skies of Arcadia, after beating a mini boss I had to fight the boss of the level. The thing is I forgot to heal before going into the fight. Also when I went to the boss level, it auto saved, so I could only start at that point and not go back and heal, or get more healing items.

So has anyone else made a mistake like that?

I was in a clan battle in halo reach. I saw a falcon with three passengers at the enemy base. It was too far away for my reticle to turn red, but I shot at it anyway with my spartan Laser. Not only was that our falcon, my clan leader was inside of it when it blew up... oops

We still won though.

I know this feelings. One time a long time ago when I was little I saw this trainer's Starmie and I had to have it so I threw a master ball at it and the trainer knocked it away.

Needless to say, I had been playing hours without saving so I couldn't just restart the game.

every time one takes the wrong party to do the wrong thing in dragon age, or you make a mistake in skyrim. Like leveling non-combat skills to the point that you run into ancient dragons with level 22 destruction magic.

There was this one time where I saved the game at a certain point in Metal Gear Soild 3 (which causes a completely different game to boot when accessing that save). I was so confused after re-loading the save file again and again that I decided to play the whole game again, assuming the disc was faulty/glitchy.

I then discovered after finishing the game that it was just a mini-game which, after finishing, would resume the normal game at it's defined point...

Hours wasted!

Just a few nights ago, I was playing Pokemon SS and decided to EV train the awesomest Gallade I could. So I bred Ralts until I got an adamant one, threw on a power brace and started killing Krabby's. Got to 252 ATK EVs and about 100 SPD before realizing it was a female Ralts :(

And if that wasn't bad enough, I decided to breed a male adamant Ralts off the female, so I slapped an everstone on her and started breeding. It was taking an oddly long time to get an adamant male, so I decided to double check. Sure enough, I put the everstone on the wrong Ralts, so I had tons of docile Ralts.

Correcting my mistake , I finally got my adamant Ralts, but decided to take a break, going to the pokeathlon dome, intent on grabbing a dawn stone. I needed another 2000 or so points to get one, so I grinded jump challenges until I got it. But as it turns out, I had been doing this late at night, and by the time I had the points required, it was 0:07 am, making it Monday, so dawn stones were no longer available.

But I will not give up! I WILL HAVE AN EV TRAINED GALLADE!!!

Does the entirety of Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) count? I don't think you can do any worse than that game in terms of a major title release. On top of the terrible controls, constant glitches, and utterly stupid "speed" sections (which take full advantage of the aforementioned horrid controls and glitches), you have loading screens which last for several minutes at a time. And these are loading screens for things as minor as a brief dialogue box exchange.

That's not even touching upon the ridiculous story and painful characterizations, but I assume our discussion is about technical glitches.

To lighten the mood, here's some obligatory Deus Ex:

Firing the M-920 Cain in Mass Effect 2 when the target is too close to you. As I charge it up, I think "Maybe it's too close". Usually I find out if it was too close if Shepherd dies.

Me and a good buddy of mine, like to play minecraft on the Xbox 360. Now here's my horror story.

Me and my buddy were playing on one of my maps, one of the things I like to do is dig in random directions. However this map rewarded such behavior by generating many chasms to explore, slimes to get slime balls from, and dungeons to get loot from.

Eventually we got so deep, and our pockets so full, we decide to build a mini-shelter. It had many treasure boxes to hold our collected hoardes of gold, diamonds, and slime balls. Also a few ovens to cook the good ore that we found. All innocent enough right?

Well, we later came upon a horde we couldn't defeat, so we got killed, no bigy. Except that we spawned in our beds, that when we realized just how bucked we were. We explored the inner-most sanctum of the dungeon for days, literally days. Nothing turned up, we quickly began to question our own sanity, as the 'treasure' started to seem more and more like an urban legend.

Finally, after three days of searching, I just stumbled upon it, in all of it's glory, it was immaculate. "Get over here Xbox buddy! I've foun-" my sentence was cut short, for there coming straight for the shelter, was a mob army, lead by two creepers, and they just barged in. "NOOOOoO*BOOOOOOM*" the first creeper exploded, taking out the trunks, and have my life, would've been salvageable still, had we not built the shelter on top of lava apparently! *sciisssss, scisssss* never before had such simple noises caused me so much despair, then the other creeper exploded, killing me, and sending the rest of the things I had collected to a fiery grave. "Whatever! I'll just exit out the gam-" auto-save in progress...

I have not played minecraft since.

I was mostly talking about mistake you made in a game, not controller mistakes or glitches you found in a game. Just if there was a time you messed up a level or did something wrong.

I meant to delete my Spongebob game install from my Xbox hard drive (I was low on space, so I was wiping some big installs and stuff), but I accidentally deleted my save file. I was about two collectibles away from completing the entire game, but I screwed up and lost everything. What a pain.

There was that one time in Twilight Princess where I managed to defeat the final boss however I was not aware that the game did not save when you did so so I had to go back and redo the entire hyrule castle segment (except for the final boss) in order to get my stuff back it was a few hours wasted.

Star Ocean: The Last Hope on the Xbox 360.

Final boss is on his final form. 40 minutes into the fight. ~70k life left.

I run out of mana potions. I run out of revive items. My healers die.

In a last-ditch effort to kill him, I throw my two fighters on him and they die.

Game Over. I shut it off and haven't played that game in 3 years. ;.;
