  1. With friends, things can get pretty loony - like, Tex Avery loony ...okay maybe not that much... Though most of the time I have class with people I don't really know (and wouldn't like to know for that matter) and keep to myself. If anyone bothers me, I just maintain silence. They seem to think I'm psychotic or deranged, though (after all, inaction is a justifiable action in its own) I don't really hate everyone - just don't really see the point in getting in their way.
  2. "You can't eat an orange and throw the peel away; a man is not a piece of fruit!" - Willy Loman, from Arthur Millers "Death of A Salesman" "Religion has convinced people that there’s an invisible man…living in the sky, who watches everything you do every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a list of specific things he doesn’t want you to do. And if you do any of these things, he will send you to a special place, of burning and fire and smoke and torture and anguish for you to live forever, and suffer and burn and scream until the end of time. But he loves you." - George Carlin
  3. Hooray for un-intentional Sweetie Belle reference! You're welcome - Glad you like it! yeah I have a dA account -->http://booya22.deviantart.com/ It's where I keep all my crap art (and the occasional poem or two)
  4. Saw this post and thought to myself, 'Hey, why not??" I picked Eerie because I really like her mane! I also unknowingly decided to do some experimentation while making it, so I'm not sure whether or not it came out all right... Anywho, I'll let you be the judge.
  5. Well, I'm more of a rhythm guitarist who prefers finger picking over the use of a pick (most of the time). When I do play lead, I don't go for speed but, rather, emotion. Think, David Gilmore. I don't cover much (the occasional vg tab and the mlp theme in finger-style) - I tend to focus on my own compositions/songs, though I'm not sure what actual genre they would fit in...
  6. I play a Fender Strat electric guitar (20% cooler) and an acoustic nylon string classical guitar (sans 6th string...need to replace it soon). I'm more of a rhythm guitarist than a lead, though I'm slowly learning lead guitar as well...
  7. Album: Up The Downstair Band: Porcupine Tree Best known, Best or Most inventive songs off the album: The Whole Thing! Genre: Progressive/ Psychedelic Rock This album, simply put, is amazing. It is just epic when it comes to composition, like in the track 'Small fish'. It's sort of a loose concept album which involves drugs and is thoroughly enjoyable from the drum machine-esque 'Synaesthesia' all the way up to the huge climax of 'Fadeaway'.
  8. Well, I'm sure there are people that genuinely like it- the problem, I feel in most other songs these days, is that it won't age well and will soon be substituted with something else which is equally catchy/hilarious- a low level of persistence in the minds of many, in a way... Of course, that's just my opinion in the matter.
  9. Well, My full name is Syed Hamza Salar Hassan...it's a bit of a mouthful, i guess. Though most people call me Hamza, or Hammy. I like it because it sound epic; like, epic fanfare epic (well, atleast i think i does) And to be honest, I can't really imagine having a different name. One thing I don't like about it, however, is that it's susceptible to jokes related to ham...not cool.
  10. One of the things which I simply abhor but everyone (well, at least everyone I know) else likes is fad music - highly marketed acts such as LMFAO and Gungam Style find their ways into everyone's phones and ipods and is constantly played on the radio and tv. It's an ever repeating process where once something new comes up it's marketed to death and the old stuff is forgotten 90% of the time. That aint what music's about, maan. (though that's a story for another day...)
  11. There was this one time where I saved the game at a certain point in Metal Gear Soild 3 (which causes a completely different game to boot when accessing that save). I was so confused after re-loading the save file again and again that I decided to play the whole game again, assuming the disc was faulty/glitchy. I then discovered after finishing the game that it was just a mini-game which, after finishing, would resume the normal game at it's defined point... Hours wasted!
  12. If I had to choose, mine would be a Fibonnaci Spiral- which would probably symbolise endless potential or creativity, since I'm passionate towards artistic mediums of expression such as the pen, the brush and the guitar (since those mediums also have limitless, uncracked potential). But until I make up my mind, I'll just wear a green shirt to cover my blank flank.
  13. 1. Radiohead 2. Porcupine Tree 3. The Smiths 4. Blackfield 5. LCD Soundsystem Honourable mentions would have to be Talking Heads, Cardiacs, Pink Floyd, Joy Division and the list goes on and on and on
  14. Not really- If people ask me what's up with the ponies, I just tell em straight to the point and simple. No harm no foul. I pasted RDs cutie mark on my electric guitar, and I have Nyan-Dash as my phones wallpaper - so I guess it's a more passive approach.
  15. I was on the school bus the other day and decided to listen to some Alex-S pony tracks on my phone. It was only after a few minutes when I realised that a few people were looking at me with a strange expression- i didn't plug the headphones properly, so the music played also from the speakers! Luckily they seemed to forget about it afterwards- an encountertoo close for comfort
  16. I noticed this topic, and couldn't help but throw in my two bits. I haven't seen the film- not because of the content, but because of the fact they blocked Youtube here in Pakistan. As Kyronea and AnoniPony pointed out, the cultural differences are there and are a major reason behind the state of Islam in Middle East and South Asia. (Though I believe that Ataturk's abolishment of the Ottoman Empire along with the Caliphate and the replacement of Sharia law with a proper modern law system made Turkey more tolerable). However, the outrage over the film was very appalling. Sure, it must have pulled the strings of the thoroughly devout, but that's no reason to burn cinemas, destroy stores and kill each other (about 28+ dead). Meanwhile in Turkey, peaceful protests took place, pamphlets were distributed. Islam is said to be a religion of love and tolerance-however, it seems like most of those who protested in places such as Indonesia and Pakistan completely missed the point and misconstrued it to the boiling point. I sincerely think that the protests had little to do with religion and had more to do with social issues such as illiteracy and inequity; the film being somewhat of a scapegoat. If there was going to be a protest, it should've been against the bloodshed in Syria. ... (gives his two bits)
  17. Welcome to the herd, Desu-Chan! I'm pretty new to the forums myself, but judging by your warm reception, I think you'll do just fine. Yay Fluttershy's my favourite too!
  18. Thank you! Well, they don't show it here on T.V, which means they probably don't (though i guess the Arabic dub would be the closest thing but we don't get that here either) I saw all the episodes on Youtube in English. Once again, thanks for the welcome!
  19. My Favourite Mane 6 Pony: Fluttershy How did you find MLP Forums?: Google, in search of local Bronies. How you became a fan of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic: Curiosity- I saw it floating around the internet around March and thought I'd give it a shot. Best! Possible! Thing! Hi. Bonjour. Guten Dag. Konnichiwa. Salam. My name is Booya22, but my actual name is Hamza. I'm 17 years old and am from South Asia; Pakistan to be exact. I'm an artist (well, I strive to become one) and I mainly draw in the style of Anthro, since I like animals. I also love music and can play the guitar. I don't like to pick favourites, but if I had to, I would pick Fluttershy- since I can relate to her character to a certain degree....shyness...and what not... I hope to meet bronies with common interests and also bronies from Pakistan (though I feel it's a bit of a longshot...) Furthermore, I hope to become an active member of the forums and try my best to be a part of the herd.
