The worst thing to come out of it? The same thing that comes out of every fandom: Division between fans. There's never a single group of fans that all agree on one thing and sometimes that leads to arguments that are really unnecessary.

Point in case: People who believe things like gore-fests such as Cupcakes or anthro ponies (boobs on ponies) are somehow defiling the show while there's others like myself who enjoy such things. It has nothing to do with the show being innocent, the show will always be innocent regardless of what it's fans make, but to see different colors of a show brings out something the show itself doesn't because of how it's made and who it's targeting.

I will not stop looking at anthro ponies because someone else feels they defile it but neither will I throw them around like crazy. (Note: I have posted some pictures of anthro ponies but there has never been a point where I'm shoving it down peoples' throats)

Division itself breaks a lot of fanbases and it's only by pure luck that MLP hasn't broken down the way the Sonic fanbase has or the Kingdom Hearts fanbase.

No one forces you to look at it, and since you ignore it why do you CARE? The people who like this kind of stuff are going to have it in their head no matter what, so it'll always exist.

I know what you're trying to say, but what I really meant I guess is, I hate that the stuff exists. And I hate how it becomes popular and is frequently mentioned. If it kept to it's own little disgusting corner of the internet, I wouldn't mind it. But the fact that people always make references to it, and allow it to get popular, is what irks me.

tl;dr version: If people kept that kind of thing to /b/, somethingawful and ebaumsworld so I could ignore it easier, I wouldn't mind it's existence as much.

You can't really blame people for liking what they like. People like to make such things and others like to look at it or read it or watch it or what-have-you. You can't fault people on something they find enjoyable even if you don't personally like that they exist.

I'm not annoyed by the rule 34 and violent/sexual fanfics. If that's your thing, go nuts. It's not for me so I won't look at it.

A lot of people look down on Bronies because we like something that goes against what is expected of us. But within our sub-culture we look down on those who like stuff that is not generally expected of them as a Brony. It just strikes me as hypocritical, especially in a community that actively encourages love and tolerance.

I do think that people will start to realise this and just let them be.

Depending on the OC/crossover, I would say some OCs or crossovers are terrible. (hem hem, example, Jesus as a pony, seriously? Are you that immature and unintelligible?) Edited by Samthelegoman

Seems we've got an interesting debate going here.

Another one of the problems I have with the weird stuff is, it gives haters fuel. Haters see things like Cupcakes and Sweet Apple Massacre and go "Ha ha look at these losers! They slap their salami to torturing ponies!", and get everyone thinking bronies are sickos.

I know that things like that happen to all fandoms, and that it can't be prevented, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. I just don't get who turns My Little Pony into that, what they hope to accomplish and why they feel the need to. Just kinda goes against the whole love and tolerate message when we have stories floating around depicting pony torture.

I like horror movies, slasher films, and I like the Toxic Avenger series, so I'm not one of those "OMG VIOLENCE IS TEH DEVIL!!!1" people. I just don't see the appeal of applying it to My Little Pony.

It's all well and fine if you don't, perfectly reasonable to think the way you do, but people will do what they do. As I said: It adds color to something we don't feel we have enough of. MLP can only do so much, fan stuff can do far more because fans don't have to stay within the limits the show does. They don't have to censor things they don't feel need to be censored, they can use characters however they want. It's the realm of creativity that burns through many fanfic writers that creates the possibilities for such things. You want Clop? Someone will make it. You want gore? Someone will make that too. You want Sci-fi goodness? Yup, there's that too.

A lot of people look at it as "defiling the innocence" when things like Gorefests and Clop are just fleshing out a series that we all love and seeing it in a different light entirely. There was never anything wrong with viewing something through two pairs of eyes.

But like I said: You don't have to care or like the stuff yourself but you should be accepting of the fact that people do like it and aren't doing it to defile anything but rather to use the realm of the imagination to expand on the series we know and love massively, even if it doesn't go in a direction you personally care for.

I agree with all of you, Cupcakes was really bad for me, but it was fan-made, meaning "not real" so it doesn't effect how I feel about "Faust's Pinkamena" so yeah:

but it doesn't mean I won't watch "Party of One" anymore.

As for the "rule 34" stuff, I'm tolerate of it, but I don't get off on it. Some other people do, and that's just their thing. I mean I've seen much Much MUCH worst stuff than rule34 ponies...

Crossovers work because someoen finds two things awesome and invisions ponies in it, thus they cross it over. That can occur with actions like fishing, sex, war, golf, reading, talking, everything.

And the people who do think that are already so close minded they'll mock something else. Some people do slap their salami to ponies getting tortured, but as long as they're not shoving it down our throats, placing it in inappropriate places or actually doing harm to ponies or people or anything I'm 120% cool with it.

Bronies letting fan-made content affect their opinions of the actual show.

Gore Fics

Rape Fics

Humanised Pony pictures

Baby Ponies MLP merchandise

anything else not on this list is approved by me.

First 3 are Fandom, the last one we can all hate because it's not fandom and it's a terrible depiction of MLP FIM...

Huh. This subject just popped up on my Tumblr feed. Might as well throw some copy paste into the discussion.

What gives you the right to call another person “disgusting” or other rude things when they aren’t hurting anyone? Also, the fact that so many people in this fandom seem to hate porn, even when it’s not pony-related, is making me seriously reconsider whether I want to stay in the fandom.

You see this post?

This is a good post.

Usually I hear people saying they reconsider the fandom because they get upset over the cloppers (and I use that term very respectfully). From all I’ve seen, and I mean first hand, the cool thing about the fandom is even with all it’s many factions and disgust of aspects of what other fans like or dislike, we’re all hooved, and we all respect one-another. That it’s the fandom we have in common, not the specifics of what we like or hate about it. Otherwise why would we include so many G1-ers?

Personally, I find most cartoon porn to be hot, but sexual pony stuff to me is kinda silly (usually), and guro stuff is just plain gross. But so fucking what. If people find rule 34 type stuff repulsive or “raping their childhood,” to me that may seem just really dumb (for real), BUT I respect their views and don’t judge them for it. You can’t judge people for what they like or don’t like, that’s fucking idiotic. And for the most part, the herd does love and tolerate the diversity within (believe it or not), so if some people actually leave the fandom because they can’t believe so and so hates/likes such n such, they’re taking that emotional train out of ponyville on their own.

Here's something I think we can all agree is one of the worst things to happen as a result of the fandom: Poser "fans" who really could care less about the show and the fandom, but use it as a tool for trolling people.

I want to say "before" but I bet that's too late. I don't want to be misunderstood that I didn't like "Cupcakes". In my opinion it was an incredible written fiction off two characters from the MLP:FiM show. My distaste on Pinkamena comes from the constant publicity and its "cult" that has grown from that fanfic.

For example, when I see an image of Pinkamena with a blood/gore background somewhere on a site I ask myself, "Why?". When I read discussions of best pony and Pinkamena pops up, I ask, "Why?".

Here's a history that I understand about who Pinkamena is:

She lived a strict lifestyle as a child away from the company of friends and neighbors. She worked as a child (on a ROCK farm no less), which in olde culture is generally common upbringing into adulthood. Her full name, Pinkamena Diane Pie (which would likely had come from in part by a relative or ancestor).

One way or another her time on the farm came to an end, and her lifestyle did a 180 degree turn-around. Without stretching the back story of her new name, Pinkie eventually adopted the name she uses now, for whatever reason that may have been.

"Party of One" shown us what is often depicted as an episode of Pinkie's past lifestyle, though maybe extreme in her case, the familiar feeling of no friends downed her spirits. This change in emotion does not convey purpose to title her differently and demonetize her well-being. She's still Pinkie Pie. Pinkamena Diane Pie may or may not still exist, but it represents a pandora's box of her locked up memories. This box is not to be opened, only remembered that it existed.

I done forgot what my point was.... I hope I was able to paint a picture though.

For all who Pinkie Pie is and who she will be, Pinkie will always be Pinkie.

P.S. Fictional characters makes typing fun.

Oh god that makes me so mad!

My friend keeps saying he's watched all of season 1 and keeps brohoofing me but he failed to recognise my Dash wallpaper or anything else I've showed him. Why lie? If you want to be a part of something then be a part of it.
