So I was looking around and didn't see a thread about this (to my suprise).

So anyway what is everypony's favorite video game theme, or if you want to do a short list favorites.

The Syphon Filter theme and the Grand Turismo 2 music are gems of my childhood - so much nostalgia that's just jam-packed.

I do agree that Guile's theme has been overplayed because of its being a meme now. I have it on my list because it was the theme I listened to most as a kid and it is my workout song.

Damn, there are so many, here's are a few of them in no particular order:

-"I was born for this" from Journey

-Captain Slag's theme from Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Desruction

-The main theme and the boss theme from Spiral Knights

-"Khaine's Wrath" from Dawn of War 2

The Magic of Scheherazade's theme isn't my favorite, but it's a great one, and it gets an honorable mention before anything else because I loved this game so much as a kid. It was revolutionary for an RPG in its day.

Final Fantasies VI and VII contain my favorite themes of all time. VII takes a slight lead over VI. They're both masterpieces and I find both of them to be very moving.

City Escape is the greatest song to be featured in a game, in my opinion. It's so good, that it doesn't really feel out of context when you listen to it outside the game.

Nothing can ever beat the anthem that is the Final Fantasy Main Theme. Seriously, I get chills whenever I hear the dang piece!

It's the opening theme for Xenoblade Chronicles, isn't it wonderful? It became my favorite the instant I heard it.

I also really like most of the music in Zelda and Pokemon games.

oo i had to think on this one... in no particular order, some of my favourites below:

 

-La saia's Resting place (the sunken ship level) from dark cloud 2. (adore the remix on OCremix.org!)

-map 1,2,3,& 7 from super mario 3.

-that special/starworld music from SMW.

-terraria nighttime music haha

-the mirrored fountain level from smash bros.

-the jiggity jig sailing/boat levels from Donkey kong country 2, as well as the mines and the haunted disco coaster!
