It's kind of weird... After six years, Kanto has sort of fallen in my rankings. I think seeing old regions in 3D highlight problems that I didn't notice when it was in 2D. There's not a lot of variety in terms of the environment; it's all grass and caves. And with the recent remakes, the removal of the safari zone and game corner only makes the regions' problems stand out more.

For now, I think Alola is my favourite in terms of geography because the environments largely make sense. The snow area of the game is logically on the highest mountain and the desert area is on the opposite side of said mountain instead of being somewhere in the middle of the map. The mountain range is casting a rain shadow! You don't need HM moves anymore either because of the ride pokemon system, so you don't have to worry about anything being inaccessible due to your team.

The only thing I dislike about it is that it's an island chain and not joined together. If not for that, the region would be perfect.

Kalos is my favorite. Of course, I'm kind of a sucker for anything Western, especially European. However, the region also features very unique, neat locales and great music (the best music in the series post Gen-III, IMO).

Alola, easily.

I'm a huge Generation 7 fan, and the strong, upbeat theming of the region is a large factor as to why. Not to mention the fact that about a third of the NPCs that you battle are wearing nothing but their bathing suits which helps for attention-span related purposes.

Sinnoh. We haven't had a mountainous region since Sinnoh, and there are so many places like the lakes and Mt. Coronet that are stuffed with lores and stories. And there's the exploring part of it! I'm one of those weirdos who enjoys HMs so when I come to a new location I always make sure I got a few HMs on me so that I can explore everything in one go.

I'm stuck between Hoenn and Kalos. Kanto bores me as it just looks plain(reasonable being their first game or i've played that game many times that it's difficult for me to even care about exploring it). Hoenn just has that nice tropical setting while being connected (for the most part) and Kalos just looking much more fancier, connected and that most of my favorite pokemon are from that region (Sylveon, Dragalge, Noivern, Goodra, Fenniken, Tyrantrum etc). so either of the two would do for me. Somewhat of a cop out but whatever~

My favourite region would be Sinnoh. I love all the landscapes that were incorporated, as well as the variety in cities and towns. They are all very memorable and visually beautiful, which really increase their appeal to me. It may also be the contributing nostalgia, but I have a lot of fond memories of the region, in addition to the accompanying landmarks and the pretty soothing soundtrack.
