*SPOILER ALERT* Maybe this is it

Courageous Thunder Dash

Recommended Posts

Maybe Rainbow Dash will be able to join the Wonderbolts after all.

Episode Name: Wonderbolt Academy

This is all the details I have.

Also, Gilda might return here.

Also maybe another big wake-up call for Rainbow-Dash

Meh... She probably won't join the Wonderbolts. It would kinda ruin the whole fan-girl side of Dash in my opinion. :|

The episode will probably consist of her trying to become a Wonderbolt, but then a huge mess happens and in the end she learns a lesson about friendship. The show making such a huge progress within a single episode is rather weird, in my opinion.

On the other hand, I would love to see Gilda returning~

I hope Dashie doesn't join the Wonderbolts because they just seem like an elitist bunch of klutzes who can't do anything other than perform flashy amateur techniques.

I REALLY hope Dashie forms her own kind of league because she's clearly the superior flyer.

lol I doubt that she's gonna join the Wonderbolts anytime soon. Not that there's anything wrong with that, or that I have any actual hard evidence proving that she won't, but the idea of her getting back just seems so off in my book. Besides, I'm sure that all she's gonna join is the academy and they'll leave it at that.

That would be an awesome episode.Although,if that happens I demand everypony else gets to realize their dream too :)

It would eliminate that whole want to be Wonderbolt side of RD

My theory about this episode:

I don't know how Rainbow Dash knows lightning bolt pony over there, (maybe sisters or cousins, considering how much they look alike) but maybe the episode focuses on their rivalry and how they both want to become Wonderbolts equally but are both too competitive with each other to actually have a shot at becoming a Wonderbolt, and instead sabotage each other. They could be too focused on making the other fail rather than succeeding themselves. Kind of maybe like Fall Weather Friends, I guess.

At the end, maybe Rainbow sees that Lightning truly wants to succeed and become a Wonderbolt more than her and that Lightning deserves it more than her, Rainbow decides to just let Lightning accomplish her dreams and become a Wonderbolt.

Long Story short, Rainbow Dash will become the new element of generosity. Nah, I'm just kidding. As Rainbow represents loyalty she'll probably make sure that they both can accomplish their goals.

Why does everyone hate the idea of Dash becoming a Wonderbolt? It's like you all assume once she becomes one, she has to stay one. I for one would find an episode where Dash get's into the Wonderbolts at last, then faces the dilemma of praise, fame and fortune with the Wonderbolts versus her best friends and living in Ponyville to be ideal. In the end she'd do the right, mature thing and leave her fangirlish dream of being with these fliers who aren't any better than she is anyway, to be with the people around her that truly matter.

No matter what happens in this episode, I'd like to see more Spitfire. Even better, Spitfire and Dash interaction :3

Aye. I have long since maintained this is the most likely result to happen: she gets into the Wonderbolts, but it ends up not being what she really wanted to do with her life. Personally I think she wouldn't fit beyond just missing her friends--there's also the fact that I've often felt the Wonderbolts are more like a military organization, which demands a level of discipline in a certain way that Rainbow Dash is simply not capable of--so she might fail just for that reason alone.

The question for me isn't "Will she end up in the Wonderbolts." It's what becomes her life dream afterwards, what she ends up trying to focus her life on. The Wonderbolts have been a sort of goal for Rainbow Dash all along, so once she doesn't have that...what is she living for?

Real possibilities for an existential crisis exist there, I think.

I hope it's like a camp where pegasus' go to try to earn a spot in the wonderbolts. I think that if Dashie goes, but fails, we'd see a nice amount of growth in her. The one other pony confuses me though. Maybe their cousins, or maybe their just rivals.

Yeah I'm in agreement to, I think this is the most likely way the episode would end up going in my head. Considering shes the element of loyalty it would make sense. She wouldn't just abandon her friends for her own hearts desires. She didn't do so in episode 1. And she won't do so anytime soon either.

Well, she's loyal after all. I doubt she would ever leave Ponyville~

Or perhaps something similar to what Aegis said: She enter the academy, but then finds out that most of the Wonderbolts are just a bunch of show-offs/way too strict/not what Dash imagined at all.

After all, those guys have already been slightly shown as klutzes before. :P

Seeing the posts here, I really hope that lightning pony is related to Dash somehow as well, she could use some family- I mean Twilight got a random brother, so why not Dash too? ;)

Anyway, I also think the Wonderbolts need some more fleshing out, they've never seemed all that competent or great, I mean the best thing that came out of them was fan art of Spitfire out of her costume, and while that's great and all they need more presence on the show to make me feel Dash's superfandom of them is justified.

If the episode does at least some of these things I will be satisfied and might end up liking Rainbow Dash more.

Well to be honest I'm not sure how I feel about Dash becoming a wonderbolt yet either. At the end of the show yes, absolutely, I'll be furious if she doesn't. But having her achieve her dream now would kind of take away the nature of her character as the dreamer, the one who sees something impossible way off in the distance, so far off that they don't even know if it's real, and throws themself body and soul at it to get there. This is one of the things I love most about Rainbow, and if they were to remove it then i would be very conflicted.

I'm really afraid that this will be a sequel to Fall Weather Friends or will turn into another Your Ego Is Too Big episode. Really, there are other aspects to her personality, positive ones in fact, and it wouldn't hurt to have an episode showcasing those.

My hope is that Dash and her mysterious rival have an epic competition that Rainbow barely wins, but then realizes that her new job would interfere with her friendships, and then after some soul searching (in the form of a song!) she gives her position to the green mare, but says she'll be back one day to claim her spot, and she'll be practicing her flank off to become even better than the Wonderbolts in the meantime.

I'm afraid, but overall really excited for this episode

Agreed, never understood why everypony is so opposed to the idea of her joining the Wonderbolts. I honestly don't know if it'll happen in the Wonderbolt Academy episode, and for some strange reason I kinda doubt it will (I don't really know why... call it a gut feeling), but I wouldn't doubt that it'll happen at some point in the series. It'll either (1) play out like you said, with her joining but then being torn between staying with the Wonderbolts or in Ponyville, or (2) she'll join at the end of the series, presumably when Twilight fulfills her own hinted at destiny, and the rest of the Mane 6 all start possibly living their own dreams, going to even bigger and better places (I don't know if that is how the series will end, it's one of many possible theories in my head, and I really haven't refined it that much, but again, it is a possibility). Whatever does happen, I have no doubt that she's going to somehow get involved with the Wonderbolts at some point in the show's run.

I should start added *SPOILER ALERT* to all of my posts just so that I can get a surplus of view and replies.

I think I remember seeing in the preview for S3 Rainbow Dash flying around and landing with a skid on some sort of practice runway with another mare. Maybe she will compete with her for a spot in the Wonderbolts. I think that this season is going to have a lot more connected episodes, rather than every episode have a strictly distinct plot. I kinda hope to see Rainbow Dash failing or declining to be a member of the Wonderbolts, because that would definitely show her element being loyalty. That is, if joining the Wonderbolts meant little time with her friends.

However, if she does join the Wonderbolts, I want it to go down like this.

Or how about she loses the race, and spends the rest of the episode learning to deal with failure, as nobody is perfect. This must be the episode to show dash is not as great as the fandom thinks she is. ;)

I don't like that unoriginal idea of "Dashie" joining the Wonderbolts and learning a lesson about loyalty to her friends, that's way overused in fics already.

Nor is the idea of "Dashie" failing her audition and having a best friend comfort her.

I think that there's more of an idea that she enters an academy, hey hey, and learns about flying better? That's the whole point of that episode title. I wonder if people read sometimes. (Jk, sounded a bit harsh there)

And I don't like how some people's bashing the Wonderbolts and how RD is better than them. I believe there's quite some information missing from her idol group--why are they slower than her, and why can't they make a myth happen?

Would be interesting to see in the episode.

RD may seem like the fastest flyer in all of Equestria, but just look at the spoiler picture of her rival.

She is not the only speedy pegasus.

Actually I had a great insight on this just now. What if this is like a High School reunion kind of thing. But in this case it is the academy, which accounts for gilda, and the unknown pony in an earlier post who is similar to dash.

The other is her becoming a flight instructor

I place 2 bits on these thoughts.
