Anypony who says its bad has never lived in a first world country or considered that the only reason why they are healthy, happy or can have all our advancements in technology that we have today is because of it!

In my opinion, capitalism is the best system. However, the government should take steps to remove monopolies (where harmful), reduce inequality and most importantly promote equality of oppertunity.

Capitalism, of course.

I think we should make it more difficult for monopolies to form/operate, but we shouldn't remove them entirely. Business is business is business. If one organization rises to dominance in a particular industry without completely shutting out other corporations and businesses, then I say let it stay.

I vote for this guy. To be frank i am not good with economy. But i imagine welfare is good incase people have trouble getting jobs etc so that they won't end up on the street, but capitalism is also good in terms of building a business and have an open free market where its a win and lose situation.

Communism is wonderful in an ideal society,It's focused on the love and kindness in a persons heart and about how everyone will share and be good people. There would be NO government.

Star Trek's federation is perfect, but that will not happen for centuries - if ever.

Though that was  built from the ruins of WW3... pretty much a clean slate when everything is ash and dust.

I think communism/ socialism could work in a small village of closely knit people, but not a big country.

communism only works on paper. All men are NOT born equal. some are stronger, faster, more charismatic, more assurtive. even if everyone had the same options some would still be better off than others and that will build resentment and hate and then it just crumbles when they take it out on each other.

Many industries like electricity and water services have natural monploies. These types of monopolies are often beneficial to consumers as they cost less and are more efficient.

Governments should break down companies which exploit their monopoly status.

In all honesty, I'm not sure. I haven't really done nearly enough research to say which I side with, but capitalism with reasonable regulation seems alright for me (for now). It would also be a dream-come-true to remove the influence of sociopathic, corporatist swine from politics, as America's government has obviously been bought, sold, and paid for, for a looong time. /endshortincoherentrant

Tentative between socialist/capitalism.  A mix is needed.  Too many areas suffer from market failure.  Especially pollution, waste and other negative externalities in addition to bad healthcare systems.

Capitalism needs to broaden its views to see the economy as a human construct of the natural world subordinate to the environment when it damages it too heavily.  In other words it needs to learn how to be sustainable. Government intervention is one of the only ways because markets can't account for these costs easily.  Positive externalities also need to be corrected because its socially optimal.  Healthcare is an example of this.  The way it works in the United States is not socially optimal since monetizing the industry can lower the quality of services provided and make it unable for people to get what they need.

I'd say in between capitalism and socialism. I believe some things should be paid for by taxes, while others should be sold by private companies. I think healthcare and education should be government funded, while things like consumer goods(cars, movies, etc.) should not be government funded.

Capitalism. Even though there are inherent (major) flaws associated with it, it's (in my opinion) the best choice compared to all the others.  You can make your own path if you can or if you wish to and become successful as a result.

Of course, you could go bust, but you do miss 100% of the shots you don't take.

Ideally, there would be a capitalist system with government regulations on monopolies to allow for equal chance, but otherwise as little other regulations on trade and commerce as possible.  (Essentially/in the vein of liassez-faire capitalism)

The Bartering System isn't on the list.

That would develop close knit communities, preventing illegitimate or scamming people who would abuse the system and stupid people.

Before money, that was how the world worked. It's a centuries old proven system.

People would be smarter overall. They wouldn't pay for something they don't want.

It would stop glocalization in its tracks, which would stop globalization. This would foster cultural diversity and allow people to be better appreciated for what they can do on a local level.

The bartering system would make people become more adaptable and ergonomic within their own ecosystems, fostering a greater intelligence amongst the populace.

There would be an elimination of economic superiority.
