I seem to have trapped myself

So here's a problem i've only just recently discovered I have...

I have a...um, a thing. Where I HAVE to watch/play things from the start. Say...I cant just jump in a game 6 missions in, no matter how many times i've played that game. As i'm sure you can readily imagine, this can be quite the pain having to play it from mission 1 up to mission 6. It's just how my brain goes. I've got it to the point where I can allow myself a "time zone break" before I "reset" so for example, I play a game, have to leave, my brain lets me pick up where I left off.

How does this relate to ponies? I hear you ask?

Well here's the thing, i've watched all the MLP episodes from S1 to S3 (Yes, I have to watch the first few episodes of season 3 before I can watch the newest episode just to recap what's happened), and right now I would like to watch them again. BUT every time I get to actually watch them, is only late at night. And I find I have watched S1 Episodes 1-6 so many times now I just cant bring myself to watch them anymore. Low and behold, my dumbass brain says - "Oh hai, you're not watching 1-6 again? Can't let you watch 7+ then :D ) -.-

I'm just wondering if anyone else has any REALLY irritating problems that stop them watching the show? :)

This thread appears to be related to the My Little Pony franchise and/or the Bronydom in general. Thus, it has been sentenced to Sugarcube Corner.

This is an automatically generated message, by the way.

Well that is a bit of a problem. I am very linear my self but not that linear. I can most of the time just watch the start of a season then watch the rest of it or hop to the eps I like. The only problems I get usually involve my DVR not working or I hit my data cap.

Oh yes, I got quite my share of problems when I watched the first few episodes of the Season one, back then before I became a brony.

My tummy won't stop rumbling, asking for both food and a time to let loose. My friends won't leave me alone. And last but not least, my internet connection decided to stake a riot and my ping to google reached over 3000. It took me a whole day to finish the first seven episodes :/

I have a similar problem. Where I watch/read/play something once and no matter how great it was, no matter how re-playable it was, I just can't see it again. I'd get bored. There are very, very few exceptions to this. Heck I've only seen one episode of MLP once and that was because it was the last one I watched with my first cat... 'Fore she died... Anyway! I got another cat now and we watched the season opener together!

I wonder why some people have these strange problems. What could've possibly made us need to re-watch something all over again? Or never watch again?

In truth, I've only gotten to episode 8 of Season 2. I always think, "Okay, I'm going to watch the rest of the series today", but I never get around to it. I know, I'm terrible. I just always think of something else at the time. Maybe it's just my inhibitions getting to me, because I really do enjoy the show when I watch it, but then the next day I'm hesitant to watch more despite remembering enjoying the show.

I only have that problem if there is a running storyline throughout a series. If it's episodic, with no real storyline, I can watch them in any order. Although, if I do miss one episode, I won't just stop watching the series until I see it, I'll just keep watching and try to guess what happened. And then if I get the opportunity to watch it, and I have free time, I'll watch the missed episode, and then understand a little more about the series as a whole.

Click the [x] in the top right corner of your screen and go do something else.

Or you could just watch the episodes. You aren't going to die.

I can honestly say I didn't expect there to be anyone else who finds this same problem lol

I only have that problem if there is a running storyline throughout a series.

I'm normally like that myself, but the one thing i've noticed is that there's...well, not a storyline as such, but there's a "follow on" from the previous episode. Like say, the whole theme throughout the first season, there's the underlying "story" of everyone going to the Gala, and you'll see Rarity making dresses for them and such, and getting tickets etc. Then they eventually get there. I wouldn't class that as a story, but it's nice that they reference previous episodes in that way.

Well, you could watch only the episodes regarding the Gala in order. there are only 3 or 4. I'm pretty sure they don't even mention it in other episodes. Edited by Prof. Yana

Well if I could, I suppose that would solve my problem xD

However short that may be...

There are other things too, but i've honestly forgotten more about MLP than I remember right now. I'm gonna have to get a weekend to myself again...
