Twilight's hot new hat

I stated before that I'm not a fan of Equestria Divided, mostly because of the implausibility of the Mane Six's actions.

That being said, I adore the artwork that popped up on deviantArt, really good stuff..

Except that Twilight's outfit looked just a bit too plain to me. As all connoisseurs of fine fantasy literature know, the power of a wizard is usually displayed by the ridiculousness of his/her hat, so I decided to draw something up:

Suck it, Trixie!

 

This will also be my next colouring project, so I will be grateful for every flaw that can be eliminated beforehand. I'm counting on you guys. Also grateful for any more ideas for stuff to put on the hat.

Glad you like it. I tried to make Twilight slightly older (longer horn, slightly elongated snout, longer legs and neck).

That hat is brilliant, you have done a very good job and the only flaw that i can see is that her eye is slightly off center from her other eye, other than that an amazing drawing.

A peacock plume on Twilight?

 

The art is fantastic, but that's a Trixie hat through and through. I mean, seriously, peacock: Trixie IS a peacock.

 

The hat reminds me of something done by another artist for Trixie.

 

Only Trixie can wear a hat that flamboyant.

Like I said we're operating under the assumption, that the flashiness of the hat directly indicates the wearer's powerlevel.

Wow, that is probably the most detailed sketch I've seen. But once colored I'm not sure the peacock feathers would work with Twi's color scheme. I guess it depends on what color you make the hat though.

Hmm I was going to make the fabric of the hat red and blue, withe the accessories being all over the place colourwise. We'll have to see how that turns out. Luckily, I'll be colouring it digitally, so there will be room for trial and error.

45 minutes while watching the "13th Warrior" (awesome movie btw), propably around 30 minutes, if I had concentrated. Come to think of it, now I'm thinking "viking" might work for Applejack.

As soon as I saw this thread I immediately thought of friendship is witchcraft and Rarity's giant hats

Anyways its a wonderfully drawn piece of art, I can't say I notice anything really, I mean I would've said her horn and neck are a bit big, but of course if thats how you intended that then I don't think I really have anything to critique.

 

So good job, and that hat is really cool looking .

Well that is truly awesome! All the parts of the hat fuse together very well. The horn might be a little long, but whatevs. You did a very nice job on it.
