I have a complaint towards *some* Bronies

Maybe it's just me, but my sister and my cousin certainly agree with me. You see, I think *some* Bronies need to show more respect for the show. I think they need to remember that it really is a just a kid's show. I am disgusted by videos like Cupcakes, pony wars, blood, guts etc... how people find this entertaining, I do not know. Yes, I know, I speaking typically but what about all the little kids that love the show itself and watch it on YouTube and see these horrific excuses of fanfiction. Bronies should love the show for what it is, and if they did, surely they wouldn't create such horrendous images, videos and whatnot. They need to take their violence and gore inflicted in fan-made videos/stories down a notch, because I don't see how that is loving or appreciating the show in any way. I think this also to certain explicitly rude and sexual media - this is totally wrong and it's disheartens me that people think of the ponies like this.

Yes, I know, it's free world and people can do what they want, because who cares about kids or whoever finds their stuff? And that generally, males like more violence; it's just upsetting that they would even dream of making these crazy things from such a lovable show as My Little Pony. Just read the name. My. Little. Pony. It sounds so sweet and harmless. Sorry if I'm making you gag here, but I'm sorry boys, if this is what being a Brony is about, then I don't want to be a part of it.

Please note I am a girl, so I may have a reason for disliking such content, and I do not wish to join the Brony community anyway since I am a Pegasister. If this is found to be an inappropriate complaint, I am sorry, since this is a website for Bronies to unite after all.... I just wanted my opinion to be heard and whether anypony else agrees with me.

I agree with you about not understanding the appeal of gore + ponies. I disagree with you about labeling some fans as right and others as wrong because of their interests, and separating bronies from pegasisters. My philosophy is, if you can't unite, at least refrain from dividing.

I offer respect for all bronies and try to like them for who they are, not how they express their enjoyment of the show. That's the meaning of my sig.

While I know that this may not be a popular opinion but I agree with you; If I found out that my little cousins watched this show I would not even mention that I did as well because it would lead to them discovering the fandom, and eventually the darker sides of the fandom.

Why is it called Common Sense if it is not that common?

I think the blood and gore can be turned down a notch...

As for R34 ponies... I have no comment...

But I like the show because its pointed at little girls... And the story/ plot... The animation... And the community is wonderful... It's just some parts of it that are... Um... Yah...

But you can't change the way people are...

But we all love and tolerate!

(Serously, where did this start up?)

The problem is that you think they are disrespecting the show. They aren't.

Just like clop stuff, it has no disrespect to the show at all. They also aren't bad people. You just have a more personal problem with them.

People just want to draw or create stuff that has that sort of thing. People don't always like a place filled with Rainbows and butterflies.

Yeah I understand, but what I mean is because I'm a girl I might just be a big old wuss because I don't like all the violence. Not because we are different. I just think the fans should love the show for what it is, not make horrid things out of it. (that is my opinionated horrid, at least)

I understand what you are saying.

However, they do love the show for what it is.

What you need to understand is that People like the show for what it is, they aren't trying to make what they consider "a better version," they just feel like creating that stuff.

I agree with you one hundred percent. Why would anypony come up with these things? I read Cupcakes a few weeks ago, not knowing what it was about, and it was literally the most disgusting thing I've ever read in my life. And I'm the second-to-top reader in my entire grade, so that's saying something. I sincerely hope this stops, but there is no doubt it will continue.

Hey you! Hey! Do you have Flash? Wanna animate ponies?

Well... I disagree with you in some points.

They make fan-fictions and other such contets like Cupcakes because they are NOT satisfied with the show. That is why it is FAN-made/fiction.

Also. Clopper have their own rights.  They combine two things they both like into one that you might not like, but they enjoy it, because it makes them happy.

You know, the world literaly spins around happiness, and this one is only obtainable through mixtures of things that you love, or like.

But, humans can never get eternal happiness, so they try acquiring it through many different ways.

If you do not like it, then there is nothing you can do, due to copyrights, you cannot control other's content.

If it exists now, only big internet companies can take it down.

For an example, if it is on Youtube, only youtube or the user can take it out, or instead, report for copyrights.

You can't change it if it's not yours.

Honestly people can like what they want...

It's more of the Cloppers though.

Most of the Cloppers are real dicks no joke!

Not all of them but most; they're the real problem.

I don't have a problem with things such as Cupcakes.

Why? Well I've done stuff that would put me in Hell (If it exists!!!)...

In reality ALL Bronies need to show respect as it's a kids show. The above statement is WRONG. Lauren Faust HERSELF said that the show should also be entertaining for the parents equally as much as the kids.

But still though colourful ponies? Magical shit? Very strange indeed...

Is that not just a bit sexist to yourself? Not of us are like that. I actually don't mind the gore part (I really enjoyed Cheerilee's Garden and Rainbow Factory.) but other explicit content is a bit odd. But you should still show respect for those who don't think that it's a problem.

Extreme violence and clop is not your thing and I can respect that but I don't think that fanfics or fanart that has these things in it is intended to debase or disrespect the show in any way. I don't mind blood and gore myself but something has got to have a bit more than just that to keep my interest. MLP is not the only fandom by a long shot that has disturbing fan material about it and yet those shows aren't any worse for it, I actually saw Loony Toons porn once and though you probably won't like what I have to say I laughed my ass off when I saw that.

I do agree on what you're saying on this topic, but you've got to remember that all fandoms have a side like this. There will always be people who are like this, such as cloppers. I mean sure, it's a kids show. Yes, the stuff that has been posted from these people can be disgusting. Yes, these people can be real assholes, but there's no stopping the force of the dark side of the fandom. It's here to stay. I'm sorry, but it's the truth.

And do you know what my opinion on all of this is? I don't care.

Im sorry you are so offended but "Please note I am a girl, so I may have a reason for disliking such content" is pretty sexist. Im a man and I have a reason as well because it has nothing to do with sex. In fact alot of the creators of the darker fan fictions are female so please dont pin all the problems on men thanks. You cant ban the people that like the clopfics and r34 stuff from the internet so If you dont like it dont read/look at it because unfortunately no pony can make them go away ( btw I dont like the clop r34 dark stuff )

Personally I feel like people should be able to do whatever they want and express their like/dislike of the show however they feel fit. I have read things like cupcakes and stuff like that and while I wasn't THAT impressed I didn't feel like it shouldn't have been written or anything. I guess my view was "Alright then"

Children shouldn't be reading or learning of things like that but I don't think it's the responsibility of the creators to shield them.

Well, I don't mind. If people like that stuff, then that's them. I'm me. :) As long as their not rubbing it off in people's faces like that, I could honestly care less. I don't really find those kinds of things interesting as well, but I don't really mind it. A brony's a brony, and we all express our love and interest in the show in different ways. It's not like their subjecting little kids to that stuff, anyways.

So just let them be. If they start bothering you or threatening you with it, then I can understand. But at least for me, I don't see them forcing it down my throat. If they like it, they like it. Just ignore it if you truly don't like it. ;)

Listen m8, i understand where your comming from about the violence/gore from certain fanfictions like Cupcakes.

Cupcakes turned out to be a very popular fanfiction and lead to non violent fanfictions like "A Precious Rainbow" or "The Cupcake Killer"

but i will agree that it is disturbing to sensitive viewers, but from my perspective, they can upload what ever they want, the person who comes across it shouldn't view it because of the blood/violence gore thing on the tag or something.

Just let them.... it could be a failure, or it could be a success.. and unfortunately, alot of those become a success.. but because of cupcakes i really love "A Precious Rainbow" cause it's a rescue and life changing experience type of fanfiction, and like i said, i love it.

But i really don't like cupcakes, or any of the others like "Sweet Apple Massacre" now those i have a HUGE problem with, but i am not gonna complain about it, it's not gonna go away.. it's there forever.. but it's really disturbing, it became a success, but alot of people hate it, but oh well.

Just don't let it get to ya m8, all you got to do is not watch them or read them, that's all there is to it. ;)

also, those kind of fanfictions and videos are not right for kids cause it puts alot of mental images inside there minds, it does the same for Us teenagers and adults but still.

I don't care for half the stuff out there, I know people enjoy R34, Gore, etc. And you have to know once you get on the internet it is going to be everywhere, on every fandom. You use the internet at your own risk. But it isn't hard to not read a fanfic, especially if you see it is rated M. (I know some don't have ratings, but you should be able to tell from the first paragraph or two what it is going to be about) And just stay away from R34 sites and when searching ponies make the search on strict. But yeah, I really don't like any of that stuff, but there isn't really anything you can do about it.

I can't speak for others but I'm not a fan of the extremely violent and gorey fan stuff and I'm a guy, so gender really has nothing to do with distaste for over the top "shocker" violence.

I've never understood why people like stuff like Cupcakes or any of the R34 content but it doesn't really matter.  This darker element is always present in fandoms to some extent.  I wouldn't say that the people who create and enjoy that stuff are not respecting the show or that they might be missing the point.  But unfortunately their videos and art innevitably gets found by people who don't know what Bronies are and then associate that with all of us.  That is where the real problem lies.  An issue that is difficult to deal with.

I think it's the parents' responsibility to keep away small kids from this part of the fandom. There are programs and plug-ins and whatnot that won't allow the children's account to access NSFW stuff, and that's all.

Personally, I find rule 34 images/videos/games a bit disturbing, but at the same time I can accept that there are people who are into this. (MLP isn't the only example of this, guys! These is porn from almost every cartoon, you just have to search. Really.) With gore, I'm okay, since I'm a horror/thriller fan, I like bloody stuff. However, if you don't want to see it, don't search for it, don't look at it, skip over it.

For example, I just can't understand people who are obsessed with pictures that portray overweight or overly muscular furries. But if they like it, let it be.

I have to agree that the blood and guts and dismemberment shouldn't really be a part of a show that is generally about rainbows, magic, and friendship.

Also, most of the sexually explicit crap that is shown in our fandom is really rather gross and does not match the message that the show brings forth

Well, -they- don't have to anything. People who dislike it need to stay away tho. And that is suprisingly easy to do.

When it comes to kids, well, when your kid watches porn, it's not the producers fault, it is in fact your fault - just for an example. It's the parents responsibility to know what their young kids do on the internet.

You may argue that when you search for ponies, you should never find gory /explicit stuff, on the other hand, there is definitely a hell lot more of Disney porn out there than there is of ponies, but you don't really see many people going after that.

You don't want to see it, you will avoid it, you want you kids to avoid it, then you better start taking care of your kids instead of placing them before computer for hours so you can go have fun.

It's all so simple and we don't even need to call for censure.

I know that feel, bro. I'm not very happy about it either. But that's just the way it is, and the way it's going to stay for now. Since our fandom mostly consists of teenagers, I'm pretty sure they could handle it. But I still agree with you.. It's pretty weird how they can make stuff like Cupcakes and Rainbow Factory out of a show with ponies. :S
