Microsoft word class sounds bloody amazing  . I had to take that when I was in high school and we had to type up a bunch of crap about Albuquerque and do different things with it for about a month. Good times.

IDK, maybe you could do something where Pinkie Pie figures out how to cross into different worlds and goes to Townsville or Foster's Home for imaginary Friends. Or if you want to be really crazy, Pinkie takes over Sesame Street or kills Barney.

I feel REALLY stupid now... but what is Shipping?

I'm personally not a fan unless it's either canon or plausible, but... everyone has opinions.

I actually say, "Write what you're good at." Or what you think you're good at. For me, the fastest thing for me to write is comedy, and I think that comedy works well for pony fanfics because of the nature of the show. Part of the reason why I like comedy is because I can make up the most ridiculous things and it would hardly matter if it were realistic or not, especially if the context is right.

But for more serious writing, I dislike having one particular genre in mind and sticking to the rules there... with perhaps the exception of sci-fi or fantasy, which need to be in its own genre because the rules need to be set very strictly in order for the story to be good. But I like it when genres mix together, when you have elements of most or all genres in the mix. I don't necessarily dislike genre writing, but when it limits your personal potential and what you can do to a story, then you're selling yourself short just to fit into the norm, and I don't really think that's necessary.
