Weird stuff you do that nobody else does

I sit with my knees pressed against my chest when I game. I'm trying to stop but I always end up doing it unconsciously. Recently I've taken to scooting my chair up so I can't sit like that.

AND WERE BACK!

I sit in random positions to keep my legs from twitching

I keep a phone with no battery that I found in my friend's pile of stuff on his floor

I play good songs on my guitar when no one is at my house :P

and I keep a pocket knife in my wallet

Thats all I can think of for now!

COME BACK NEXT TIME :D!

EDIT: ONE MORE THING!

I post long posts in different chunks, such as on this topic

 Im such a freak...

  • I have music ADHD. No matter how long the song is or what I'm listening to, I change the song every two and a half minutes.

I hardly ever watch TV, and when I do, I'll change what position I'm sitting in every five minutes.

I drum my fingers on my desk. A lot.

I pen tap. A lot.

If I'm hungry, I'll eat a plain slice of bread with nothing on it.

I'll use random references at completely inappropriate time. Ex: Friend: "This salad tastes like crap." Me: "IT'S A TRAP!"

Hey you! Hey! Do you have Flash? Wanna animate ponies?

I think to myself all the time. I'm sure lots of people do this, but then my thoughts are kind of like "Inception" thoughts within thoughts. False/unreal situations enter my mind all the time and I think about thinking about what I'm thinking. Sounds kind of confusing, but yeah, it is. To ellaborate more, it is like talking to myself in my mind then I reply but at the same time being subconciously aware that someone else is watching me when I'm all by myself.

I have trouble sleeping next to a loud pendulum clock. When it goes tick tock tick tock vice versa etc etc a random beat enters my mind and I subconsciously improv to it.

Another thing I do is that I whistle all the time. I'm sure lots of people do this, but I whistle day and night in the shower or in bed. I have this trick where I can whistle very soft, kind of like a muted whistle, but still sounds good. I would just do that if others tell me to stop whistling.

I talk to myself, wether asking myself questions or just by judging the way i did something, wether it is in a videogame or in real life, and people give me the looks when i do it!

When I'm on the computer, or listening to something alone, I always ummm... do the thing with saliva, like when you rinse your teeth, with the beat of course.

Also when I read stuff I always listen to music very loud, and I can still read just fine.

When I eat a sandwich I always mix mayo and ketchup in a cup before I put it in the sandwich, then I lick the spoon...oh god it tastes so good...

- Oh yeah, skiing, the horror. When noone's close I do "whoooosh" sounds while skiing. Can't help it.

- I read books while riding a bus or a metro, which isn't that uncommon, but I also read while walking pretty much anywhere.

- When it comes to setting volume, brightness, sensitivity, etc, the number I set it to always has to end with either 0 or 5 otherwise I'm unable to carry on.

- I talk to plants in my home while watering them.

Sit back and relax, we may be here a while

  • If I itch myself on one side, I'll have to do it the other side to be symmetrical.
  • Talk to myself a LOT! I'm surprised how witty the chat is
  • If I'm bored while typing on the computer, I'll probably type something like "hdhdhdhdhdhd" in time to some music.
  • I type in time to whatever I'm listening to.
  • I get distracted a lot.
  • I randomly talk in different voices: posh English, dark and mysterious, like an Australian explorer...
  • I randomly fire elastic bands around the room, trying to hit things.
  • I talk as if I'm being filmed, as if people are watching me.
  • I will reenact fights with my fingers...
  • I wander around my house when I don't know what to do...

That's all I can think of at this time... hang on, that means there's more   I don't think I'll edit when I think of more...

Does being a pyromaniac count? I've never met any others, but other people are pyros. :P

Also I talk to myself /a lot/. Except I refer to myself as being 2 people. So if someone hears me they ask "Uh. Who are you talking to?".

I have been called a pyromaniac by my dad. I love fire. I actually burned myself when (I was a complete idiot) I tried to set a plastic bag on fire. The flame hit my thumb.

If I itch myself on one side, I'll have to do it the other side to be symmetrical

Holy crap, I though I was the only one to do that. I once touched the bottom of the deep end with one of my hands, and I kept trying to do it with the other. Or if I twitch the left part of my nose, I will have to twitch the right to.

I commonly talk to myself as if I were two people.  Theres me … and then theres batman.   Being realistic here I talk to myself as two people would talk to each other

example -  me 1- maybe i should get my homework done

me 2 - dude my little ponies on

me 1 - true but i don't want to fail

me 2 - Dude you can recover from it.

me 1 - Hey your right!  *turns on my little pony*

^THIS DID NOT HAPPEN IN REAL LIFE^ ITS AN  EXAMPLE ^ or did it?

"Weird" things? or uncommon things? There's a difference I think...

Anyway, I'll try to think about some:

-I put my hands in my shoes before putting them on to check for bugs/stones

-I always, ALWAYS replicate beats I hear in my head and try to imagine the drum sheet for them

-I like to listen to songs over and over, once I find a new song that I like I could have it on autoplay for the next 5 hours and still want to listen to it afterwards (although I have over 130 songs on my playlist :P)

-I always try to be nice, anywhere, at all times

-I once went on a hugging spree all day at a mall, hugging strangers and enjoying it :) (I want to do that more)

That's all I can recall for now.

Sometimes I'll walk around blinking really fast so that it looks like a strobe light.

I arbitrarily switch hands when I eat. Sometimes I hold my fork in my left hand, and sometimes in my right. If I think about it, I have no idea how to hold it either way.

I don't bite my fingernails. I pick at the dirt underneath them.

I don't doodle. Instead, I write words repeatedly in different "fonts" and colors.

When I go to the store, I look at the packaging and think about the quality of the design. You have no idea how many resturants have TERRIBLE looking labels and posters. The menus tend to be good though.

When I'm walking around outside, I often crouch down and look around at something to find the best angles, even if I am without my camera.

I always have about 3 pillows on my bed and put them in certain based on softness, thickness, and height to best suit reading during the day, reading at night, and sleeping.

My camera telephoto lens functions also as my own personal set of binoculars.

In order to see things very close up clearly, I close my left eye.

I rub erasers against my chin when I'm thinking, and wet them with water sometimes to make them more slick.

Sometimes get a strange feeling like someone is just about to barge into the room or open the door. Even when I've rationally convinced myself it isn't going to happen, I still feel jumpy as heck.

I don't do this as often as I did in middle school, but when I'm in a really boring lecture I'll look at a wall and imagine a ball bouncing around in the negative space, sometimes with gravity and sometimes without it.  Maybe it's just because I've played too much Peggle, but seeing where the ball ends up when different amounts of force are applied to it in different directions can keep my mind occupied for a surprisingly long time.  And no, there are no unicorns or score multipliers.

I also frequently write a little something extra in white at the end of my posts.  Usually it's a joke that's too lame to include, but too good to keep to myself.  I bet I got your hopes up for what I wrote here, didn't I?

I have at least 2 alarms set for each day. They're set 1 or 2 hours apart from each other. The first alarm is to wake me up so that I can go back to sleep again.

If I do something awesome but no one was around to see it, I start to walk around the room/house and explain to myself how awesome that was. This can sometimes last for 30 min+ and I can get pretty giddy.

No matter how big my bed is, I always curl up into a pose similar to the fetal position. I also often sleep in the bed backwards. Now that I think about it, sometimes I sleep on the floor right next to my bed for no reason.

In order to prepare to learn a song by ear on my sax, I spend the day humming the song (sometimes singing a few of the words if I'm really into it). Then when I actually start to figure out the notes, I have to hum the note I want to play before actually trying to play it.

Hmm, I do this weird thing where I use my bottom lip to wipe the side of a bottle or cup after I take a sip of something. I'm afraid the remnants of the drink will sit at the edge of the cup and run down the side and onto the table and then spread around the bottom of the cup and make a big mess all over and aauuugghhh!

In the summer, people often wear noisy flip-flops. People have naturally rhythmic strides, so I use the sound of MY flip-flops to make a rhythm with other people.

When I burn my fingers on something really hot, I grab my earlobe. It takes away from the pain in my finger, and your earlobes don't really feel much at all.

My phone must be in my left pocket. My keys must be in my right. This is law.

This is something that I don't do purposely, but just happens to be. Growing up as a child, I was left-handed. However, in my culture, left-handedness is frowned upon and discouraged, so my mother told me forced me to convert my handedness over to the right. This didn't solve the issue though...new skills that I learn later in life are naturally done with my left hand because it feels correct. It's the side I was meant to use after all. My mom eventually figured she was done converting my handedness, but I'm stuck performing older things right-handed, and newer things left-handed. It's weird. I call myself an "artificial" righty. Left-handed at heart, right-handed by force.

I drink cocacola that is diluted 1:2 with water if I'm not feeling well

I enjoy eating raw potatoes

I would rather not remove my armpit hair if it was socially acceptable, but I hate my leg hair

  • 4 months later...
(edited)

I just remembered another thing now that I've accidentally  knocked all my change onto the floor. I keep a bunch of change in the bottom pocket of my bag for the sole reason of giving it away to whoever asks for spare change. I rarely ever use the change myself. This is something I picked up while I was in high school since I would get change buying lunch; I'd pack the change away and forget about it. Eventually, it piled up and I decided to keep it around in case it was ever needed.

That's why my bag is always jingle jangle'n. img-1369822-1-UNZJLhS.png

Well, OK.

I  think everytime I'm not doing anything,  I just WANDER around regardless of place...

I also chat with myself...

Also, I laugh if I remember something funny even if nobody's telling a joke, regardless of place, people think I'm psychotic or something

  • I always keep the tv volume on an even number

I never, ever step on cracks/that separating line on the sidewalk and if I do, I walk back to that position and step over it

If I'm next to a clock I check it every minute

I also drum on everything

I only set my alarm once, then for the rest of the year I instantly wake up at the time of the alarm even when it's off (maybe only two or so minutes off)

I only play the piano with my eyes closed unless I'm learning something new. it helps me focus for some reason. o3 O

^^^^^^^^^ @sirwest^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

I think over half of those are referred to as OCD XD

I do the drumming thing too though :P

I always do this. It is so hard not to laugh when you think of something funny. I can literally just be sitting in a history class and just randomly remember something funny and just start cracking up.
