Zygen 6,066 January 11, 2013 Share January 11, 2013 (edited) Hey y'all! Fancy seeing y'all here! I made some of this here art for y'all to enjoy. This here art took me a long while. I was workin hard on it over bout 2 days(I didn't spend all day on it of course, but I don't really remember the exact time, I just took some time out of each day and spent it towards making it. Overall I wanna guess it took about 3 hours to do the whole thing. Not sure.) but I hope y'all like it! After I finished with my procrastinatin I finally got er' done! WHEEEEEEEEWW WEEE! Ain't she a beauty?(*COUGH* Nope *COUGH*) I guess that'll be bout it! Now y'all can see this here art! (I used a reference for drawing AJ, so I'll show you that as well, of course Google images. ) Well I reckon y'all are gettin tired of me explainin this, so that bout wraps it up! Hope y'all enjoy! And y'all come back now for my next piece ya hear? (Of course critique is always welcome, you don't need to critique the background any or even mention it at all, it was just kinda a test I did because I was bored to see how it would turn out, but if you wanna throw tips in or something I'm always welcome to ways to improve! Also thanks to everyone who's been so helpful by encouraging, viewing, critiqueing, giving me tips and resources, and everything so far! I've finally drawn all the mane 6 now! I'm think about my next project, I have something in mind, but I'm not sure if I'll be doing it or not since it may take a while. So hope y'all enjoy! Thanks for all the support! I'd have proably lost motivation to do this a long while ago if it weren't for y'all! As a reflection.. I felt like posting my first drawing of my OC. I'll also post links to the rest of my mane 6 art. Y'all have a good day! Thanks again!) Other art(In spoiler to save room.) My first drawing of a pony. Links to my other drawings. Leafeon 2,702 January 11, 2013 Share January 11, 2013 Damn you are improving a lot. I would suggest making the back legs bigger, and pushing them back a bit. That bulge on her rear is a bit big. Other then that, very good! 1 Eeveelutions: @Vaporeon: N-Harmonia : Ampharos @Flareon: Descant/Bard @Espeon: Locked @Umbreon: Lhee @Leafeon: Firebolt @Glaceon: Mal @Sylveon: Don'tDropThatDedenne
Batbrony 16,055 January 11, 2013 Share January 11, 2013 Very nice Zygen!!! Compared to your earlier work, you've vastly improved, and I anticipate seeing even better work from you in the future! Keep up the great work buddy; hope to see more of your work soon!!! 1 "You'll hunt me. You'll condemn me, set the dogs on me. Because that's what needs to happen. Other then that, very good! Thanks Firebolt . And gotcha. That buldge is a bit big yeah . I actually tried to fix it once I finally noticed it, that was however after I had already colored and added the tail and everything so it was kinda impossible for me to fix it without having to redraw half the thing. I'll try and take your advice next time . Very nice Zygen!!! Compared to your earlier work, you've vastly improved, and I anticipate seeing even better work from you in the future! Keep up the great work buddy; hope to see more of your work soon!!! Thanks Batbrony . It feels good to hear that, and looking back myself I can even accept that I've got better.(Thats big considering how terrible I am at confidence .) And I sure won't be quiting! I still have many ideas and things to do, aswell as pratice inbetween. Like I said I'm thinking about my next big project, I'm not sure how long it'll take and when/if I'll start it and finish it. But I'm sure i'll be doing plenty more, exspecially since I still have numerous background pony's to draw, and supporting charactors, aswell as improving my drawings overall and maybe redrawing the rest of the Mane 6 and my OC for practice and so they look better. Thank you for the compliments and support! It really helps . 2 Thanks to Gone Airbourne for the awesome sig! Kamil 315 January 11, 2013 Share January 11, 2013 TOO. MUCH. Y'ALL. Living in Oklahoma I don't hear that word as many times in a day as I read in just that one post. Oh right there's art too. Not bad. I would say that the had is too tall and the neck shouldn't be so angled relative to the body, but it's so far beyond what I can do that I doubt much of what I could add is important. 1 This space intentionally left blank. Dusty Soul 2,611 January 11, 2013 Share January 11, 2013 You have improved a LOT! This is rather good, other then the hair isn't attached to the head, and body looks a little thick in the front. All in all it's amazing to see how much you improved. 1 Soundcloud-------------------Facebook---------------------------Youtube

The compliments mean alot to me . YI-HAW. That's what I call a good Applejack doozy, a good piece of art besides the little mistake in the rump/bum. But you know, its perfect. . I always thought it was YE-HAWWW But whatever . Perfect? Oh no no no, that word shall never cross my mind, the day it does.. Well the day I think something I've done is perfect(Or for that mater is perfect) The world will combust . But thank you . TOO. MUCH. Y'ALL. Hehe, I may have tried to push my natural country a bit to much, I'm a southern to, so I hear y'all alot. To be fair I don't really have much of a country accent naturally, but I do say y'all pretty often. Pushing that proably wasn't the best idea, but I wanted to sound more heavy country. Anyways... Yes the art . Actually I never really noticed the head, it does seem very straight, doesn't seem very natural , I'ma try to fix that next time . The head is a bit tall to, I've been working alot on the shape generally, so I guess my next step is to work a bit on the proportions of it. And to be honest I had the same idea before I actually tried, if you really want to I'm sure you could do just as good as me, Probably better actually. I don't really have any inherent art skills or anything, I just did some practicing. And even then its not the best still. Anyways, that you for your critique and compliments . And of course you time, hope you enjoyed! Thanks to Gone Airbourne for the awesome sig! Marathon 562 January 11, 2013 Share January 11, 2013 Hey zegyn I have some tips for using gimp. If you draw out your picture on paper first then go over it with a sharpie or something like that (not pen because then your lines will be to small). Take a pic of it, send to your e-mail and save to your computer and work from there its a lot easier. It might take more time as I usually take about and hour to an hour and a half drawing but it defiantly helps a lot. 1 "And with a sigh, she closed the old dusty book and set it gently back on its self. However there is the possibility of me doing that, but I might not considering how just drawing it totally on my computer is much more convenient, and to be honest I think my Hand drawing skills are probably worse then my skills just drawing with my mouse by now . I might try it sometime, and see how it turns out. Thanks for the tip regardless! Thanks to Gone Airbourne for the awesome sig! I can teach ya if you want. Idk why. Its easier for me and more convenient, also being a closet brony its also easier to just tab out of it then to hide drawings and stuff. Thank you for the suggestion! Drahgoon 152 January 11, 2013 Share January 11, 2013 Wow, awesome drawing! I can see how much improvement you've made compared to your first one , I would recommend sketching the head out as a circle, and attaching the muzzle onto that. Right now her head seems like a vertical oval. That's all I can suggest that hasn't already been said. I must say I'm very impressed at how far you've come in such a short amount of time. Keep on drawing and we'll keep on watching! 1 My (old) Art thread: http://mlpforums.com/topic/41087-drahgoons-journey-through-art-updated-122212/My Line Art Request Thread: http://mlpforums.com/topic/44182-pony-lineart-requests-open/ (Closed)

Keep on drawing and we'll keep on watching! Yeah actually the way I draw it I kinda just mimic the weird circly shape and then kinda curve for where the nose is. I use to do it with the ear to, but I finally decided to do it in a seperate layer and not drawn all together, and I think it turns out better that way, so I guess I'll try the same with the nose. Thanks for the suggestion . And thanks for the compliments of course . Thanks to Gone Airbourne for the awesome sig! akita-ken 581 January 12, 2013 Share January 12, 2013 Getting there, getting there. Yet another big improvement! You've mostly got the basic proportions correct already, just some of the sections are too stretched (her front, her rear, her head). What I suggest is to put the reference Applejack on a layer, create a blank one on top of that and draw circles where her head, chest, and flank are. These will serve as 'bounding boxes' so you know where to start the curve. After that, you can move the reference AJ pic away, but keep the 'bounding box' layer and lock it! Then you can draw over it with another layer Good job regardless! 1 Signature to come soon. I think. Yeah. Once I think up a nice one. Or when someone makes one for me. Damn it. I need more time to draw and animate poni. >_<
FancyPhoenix 197 January 12, 2013 Share January 12, 2013 You know you really are improving a lot :3 All you still need to get right are the shapes of different body parts, they look a bit stretched like akita-ken also mentioned. The basic proportions are correct and you are clearly getting somewhere with this I'd suggest trying to use more circles as they are the basic shape the ponies are built on. Keep on doing what you're doing! 1 Credit for the amazing signature goes to the equally amazing Iridian! Thank you :3 When life gives you lemons, say "Thank you" because lemons are awesome. Apparently I either refuse to or suck at making circles one XD. I'll have to try it though, I don't wanna lean on flat out coping stuff to much, but if it'll help a bit I'll try it. Thanks by the way . You know you really are improving a lot :3 All you still need to get right are the shapes of different body parts, they look a bit stretched like akita-ken also mentioned. Like I really should do the head and nose separate, then erase unnecessary lines or something, I use to draw the ear together with the face, but I stopped doing that, and well I think overalll that made the ear look better.(Its still got some work to do.. But yeah.) But yeah, overall there needs to be more circles, I'll try to remember . Thank you! 1 Thanks to Gone Airbourne for the awesome sig!
