Not all sonic fans are bad, but a high enough percentage of them are that I don't want the fanbase to mix with anything I really like. I feel the same way about the Avatar TLAB fanbase.

Pretty much any fandom has its bad apples that make the rest of them look a bit on the idiotic side... hell, even the MLP fandom has a lot of loudmouths that make it their mission to make all of us look a bit on the wonky side.

A few pony threads at the SEGA forum came along, and nothing was bashed (But they didn't really appreciate pony topics there.), and nothing was said about Rainbow Dash. But there was a thread just like this one, and everyone disagreed that Sonic and MLP should be together.

 

It does sound interesting, but I just know it wouldn't work.

Of course there are plenty of nice, intelligent, reasonable Sonic fans. Those people are probably the actual majority; but there is, as aforementioned, such a prevalent outspoken abundance which hold the most stereotypical qualities that have been drawing the fanbase such a bad image. It's difficult to refrain from generalizing a bit.

Again, I'm not saying that all sonic fans are bad, nor am I saying over fanbases don't have bad fans as well. I'm just saying that sonics vocal minority seems to be a lot more vocal and a lot more generally asshole-ish than many other vocal minorities.

 

Same with ATLAB. I have many friends who are really into the show, but when the fanbase has people sending the writers death threats because X didn't get canonically paired with Y? I'm sorry, but no, the fanbase sucks.

Normally I'd say that it would be cool to at least see a race between Sonic and Rainbow Dash, but I'm a little annoyed with Blue Boy right now because of how short and easy Sonic Generations was.

I'll have you know that I came from Sonic forums, er well, that was quite a bit ago, I'm not a hardcore Sonic fan though, just the older Genesis era games, and Advance 2.

 

Either way, no, just no. Sonic has WAY too many characters, and even so, it takes more of a serious tone than FiM does. You'd have characters with little to no noticeable personality singing songs about random stuff they probably wouldn't care much about otherwise (And who wants to see Robotnik/Eggman dancing anyway?)

I'd like to take this moment to say I would like to see this idea because like any other fanmade thing, it's just for fun. It doesn't have to "mix" very well at all unless someone is trying to make a tried and true mixture of the two like a serious fanfiction or something.

 

And even then it's not impossible to work out.

 

Too bad I'm a horrible artist and a lazy writer so something like this will never happen from me.

iv a little bit of sonic and mlp crossover and i like what a see cauz of the wide range of charecters both have to offer the main idea is that sonic and tails ( or any charecter) get teleportide to equestria and need to get back

You're right, I'm sorry Tails, it was wrong of me to mention it. But, as we both agree, there is a large portion of the fanbase that is terribly bizarre.
