Mwahaha, my tablet and I have struck again- this time with actual fan-art! I had a nasty case of bordem at school today (language, I think...?) and this kind of happened. I came home and scanned... saw that I had her mane and tail completly off, swore a lot, and pulled a ref up from google XD Her tail stripes are off by a mile, but I think it looks pretty good, other than that.

 

*stares at the pic* I'd give myself ten out of ten, except it's not very original XD Minus one point. Ohwell.

I like it asides from the neck being too thick. Other than that it has nice shading and ambiance.  I think you should have had derpy fly by or something XD

I have to agree that the neck is a bit thick, also I'm not sure if its just me, but it seems like shes missing a mouth or something? I'm not sure if its just me though, maybe the perspective is making it so its not necessary or it just doesn't show because of something.

 

Still I feel like the mouth is missing.

Thank you :3 Yes, she actually doesn't have a mouth. I find they're rather... quirky when it comes to the FIM style, and almost... I don't know, odd looking because of how much they curve upward. Until I can figure out how to make them look decent, most of my ponies will have to be mutes XD

Okay, this isn't the best picture of RD I've seen...but if constructive criticism is wanted:

 

The neck is very thick, and it kind of makes her look more like an elephant than a pony. The two front legs and hind leg aren't very proportionate to each other and give RD an unnatural look. And when I saw the hind leg, I immediately thought "Is that a snake"?. And her snout is kinda stubby as well, but that's relatively hidden from view. However, what's also hidden from view is her mouth, which seems to have vanished from her face. But the colour palette you chose is very good, and she's outlined pretty good.

 

Heh. Sorry if that bothers you, but that's what I thought when I saw the picture. There's always room for improvement.

Oh, I totally agree that this is nowhere near perfect. I'm still getting my legs for pony drawing, so bad anatomy will rule for quite a while... Thank you for pointing out her hind leg though >.< Hind legs are the bane of my existence.

I like it, but it's a bit too fuzzy for my taste. Especially the background. I can't tell what's what. Also, the neck is too thick, and RD's wings are too 'spiky'. They look like they can poke someone's eye out (round the tips off and they should be fine). Also, the eyes are at too great of an angle, and I'm not sure if you meant to have this but she doesn't have a mouth. Speaking of other things I'm not sure you wanted, the lighting looks like something is exploding behind her, because it's lighting up her features in a rather unnatural way. 

 

But I do like a lot of things. First off, I like the way you positioned her on the cloud - it makes the cloud look fluffy, yet stable. Oh, and the cutie mark has a lot of detail (I like when people put detail in cutie marks). Her ears and wings are the correct size. And her mane and tail have very vibrant, lush colours. Good job on that. The "cartoony" feel you added to it is nice: the little question mark, the cloud with the scribbles, etc....The lines are very crisp and clean, too. Directs my attention right to Dashie! :3

 

I'd give you a 7/10. Not bad, but not anywhere near perfect, either.

Really not bad, or perfect. But I have to say, the picture does look hilarious.

I guess it is decent, but oh well my opinion anyway.

What IS over there? :3 I like your style. I've been trying to look at different drawings so I can maybe draw one day too. I have to say, for this to be drawn in a language class, it's actually pretty good. (i hate language so i know what ya mean) The hind leg really DOES look like a snake, but I like the wings. Great job.

Oh, thank you ^.^ I always try to put loads of personality and random little quirky things into my sketches. I'm still learning on how to do lighting, though I'm slowly getting there... slowly.... getting... there... As for some of the odd angles, like how her wings are, it's just my drawing style, FIM is hard for me to replicate because of how... bubbly it is. But thank you. I'll definitely think of some of what you said the next time I have anything with actual lighting

It kind of sucks to begin with, because you know next to nothing, but, eventually, with lots of practice, you'll get there I started drawing about a year ago with dragons... and now I've ended up here! *stares at the hind leg* why do you haunt me so, silly leg...
