The sad thing about it is a little bit on my niceness dies everyday because of how lonely, alienated and taken advantage of over the years. Heck i realized that the only person that cares about me is my mom. No other people in my family or friends truly care about me. And she's the only thing that is keeping me from killing myself or becoming completely heartless. It get to point were I'm more like Rainbow dash now, but at times I feel like flutters again and depression cycle happens all over again. Kindness is something that is good but also dangerous. Around 90% of people your better off keeping your kindness to the minimum and for good reason. That 10% is suppose to be family and friends, but from the looks of it, that isn't working out that way. My personal advice in that regard is to protect and defend who you are. Even if you have to do a bit of retaliation, do so. There are those who will never respect you or care about you, ignore them. If they cannot respect you for you, they don't deserve any in return. But I will say this. There are those of us that will know your pain here, but we will never shun you for being you. I know I wouldn't. While we all have differences that define us more than our similarities. It's who we choose to be as a person that truly defines us and that is what is important, even if it has to be important to only you. Sadist the Wanderer is right; you need to take care of yourself. It is good to care about others but it does not work well if you are not caring for yourself. It seems most people are very selfish and uncaring. That cuts like a knife for those of us who are more sensitive and caring. Sometimes emotional walls and social masks are necessary. When dealing with the majority of people be wise as a snake and gentle as a dove. Try not to let the world destroy who you are inside. It sounds like your mother recognizes the wonderful you. I doubt she will be the only person in your life who will. Also, as Sadist truly said, there are those of us here who would never shun you. Be careful where you let yourself be vulnerable, but try not to let the world kill the light inside. Fluttershy is the female version of the "Nice guys finish last" type. She is so genuinely kind which is so rare and what should really matter at the end of the day. But she still has to face adversity because of this along with her shy nature. As a guy, I tend to be very introverted, but I try my best to treat people with kindness. I often get the same "you have to be more assertive" kind of thing as well, because niceness is not always rewarded in society. Fluttershy shares this struggle like many of us do. First off, welcome! Have a Flutters vector in honor of you joining us! Secondly, trust me when I say you are not alone here. We are all on this boat, and we will always be here for each other!
