An Old Head 4,816 January 27, 2013 Share January 27, 2013 (edited) I wonder whether this has been noticed before - so I was messing around with Windows Media Player, and decided to maximise the colour hue. I went ahead and watched Party Of One with this new colour scheme (amused by Twilight turning leaf green and Pinkie turning turquoise). Then when Pinkie's singing telegram went over to Applejack's house... I realised something about AJ's colour. Blue coat, purple eyes? Hmm. Then when Pinkie flies up to Rainbow's house... Orange coat and green eyes?! It is a shocking discovery! Rainbow Dash is simply Applejack with a maximised colour hue, coat and eyes inclusive! As Applejack is Rainbow Dash with maximised hue! The only thing that doesn't match is the mane!So it looks like we know how Hasbro handles their different schemes... n.n As a matter of fact, Pinkie Pie herself with maximised colour hue is almost exactly like Lyra's - green coat, sun-glow eyes.Another colour scheme similarity I noticed was when Pinkie finished off her telegram over at Fluttershy's. Fluttershy ended up with a colour scheme exactly like Vinyl Scratch's. So, what do you guys think of this? Do you think it's super clever, super cool or super boring? If you have episodes downloaded and available to play on Windows Media Player, can you find any of your own colour scheme correspondences between ponies with maximised colour hue? Do you think it might have to do with genetics in Equestria, where the colour of your coat has a colour relationship with the colour of your eyes?Open for discussion! n.n Edited January 27, 2013 by Flipturn
Harmonic Revelations 8,835 January 27, 2013 Share January 27, 2013 I'd like to point something out. Actually their colors are opposites of eachother, not maximized hue. I.e. Purple is opposite of green I.e. Orange is opposite of blue
Prismatic 49 January 27, 2013 Share January 27, 2013 The Great and Powerful Applejack is the greatest apple harvester in all of Equestria! I might look into it later on since I obviously don't know how to mess with WinDVD's color controls.
Agent153 50 January 27, 2013 Share January 27, 2013 Think its rather interesting that you got this from messing with Window's Media Player. Gotta say that it makes a man think xD. Also, would be funny seeing purple Twilight as green
Champion RD92 8,658 January 27, 2013 Share January 27, 2013 Damn, Rainbow Dash looks pretty cute with Applejack's colors. Applejack looks really weird with Rainbow Dash's colors though.

As an example, I inverted the colours of a frame of Twilight to get the opposite colours, and they were definitely different from max hue. Colour opposites on the left, max hue on the right: They were still green, but definitely not the same shade of it. Eye colour totally off as well. Though I see your point, max hue gets you closer to the actual colour of the two different ponies. Also, would be funny seeing purple Twilight as green You wanted to see that green Twilight, it's just up there. Concord 1,982 January 27, 2013 Share January 27, 2013 Hello! This is like a nightmare coming true... Horrible coloured OC's! Everywhere! It's a neat little trick, but it's nothing of much importance really 1 Thank you MatrixChicken for the Signature!

It's a neat little trick, but it's nothing of much importance really I think this would be interesting to pony biologists (if those even exist ) Or generally anyone who's interested in pony genetics. The link between eye colour and coat colour is definitely there.

Okay, I just want to say one thing and one thing only. Twilight Sparkle on Max Hue has a good color scheme for an OC. Chocolate Chip Minty Fresh! I suck at names, but you get the point.

Thanks for the images, is strange seeing Twilight in a diffent color. For some weird reason when I look at the right one I think of that mascot for those peas, green giant I think, only with Twilight in that guy's place. DoctorWhovian1902 596 January 28, 2013 Share January 28, 2013 Huh, never noticed that. It's definitely interesting to have this pointed out, and I guess it's neat to know how the color schemes were picked.
Zygen 6,066 January 28, 2013 Share January 28, 2013 I think its just their opposite colors of each other. Although I don't think it was all intentional. And not all of them are opposites I don't think. Still a cool discovery . 1 Thanks to Gone Airbourne for the awesome sig! Scootalove 10,689 January 28, 2013 Share January 28, 2013 Dashie looks so cute with green eyes, but I guess AJ having a blue coat wouldn't be so bad either. I guess this would be the reverse of FiM. 1 Credit: Moony © Forum FAQ Forum Rules
Pixi-Pie 58 July 30 Share July 30 I was looking at pony fusion, a website of pony recolors. I noticed that when you fuse a character with itself it inverts it. But when I clicked the accessibility button on my device it did something weird. It did this! Twilight was green and Rainbowdash was orange. I found if you do this to Lyra she turns this really pretty pink color. Is this called max hue? It looked roughly like this, I couldn't take a real screenshot so I matched up the colors the best I could
