Spreading the pony love

Anyone ever do anything cool to reach out to other bronies?

 

A while ago, I was following this thread by AtomicBassCannon, and thought it was a cool idea and little story so I wanted to do something similar.  I did it this morning. 

 

If you've ever been to a college campus, you've seen all those flyers on bulletin boards with the tearaway phone number tags at the bottom.  They're always selling something, like used textbooks, tutoring services, etc.  Well I put together a flyer with a Brony twist:

 

 

Instead of the tags with phone numbers at the bottom, I put a tiny picture of each of the mane 6 giving a brohoof.  Yep, I was giving away free brohoofs on campus.   Only wish I could have printed it out in color...

 

I'm so curious to see if anythings' come of this by Monday.

I think these are pretty cool.  They're nice things to do, and they don't shove ponies down anyone's throat.  They're just there for the enjoyment of others.

That's awesome. I'm in high school, and I pretty much never reveal the fact that I like MLP to anyone, aside from my friends. Even though what you did was anonymous, I really don't think I'd be brave enough to do anything like that. I guess I'm just too afraid of people ridiculing me for liking the show.

That's awesome. I'm in high school, and I pretty much never reveal the fact that I like MLP to anyone, aside from my friends. Even though what you did was anonymous, I really don't think I'd be brave enough to do anything like that. I guess I'm just too afraid of people ridiculing me for liking the show. 

 

Oh, I completely get that.  Even i was a little sheepish creating this and printing it out in a crowded computer lab.  Hell, the reason why I didn't print it in color was that using the color printer requires the help of the Lab Assistant. But sometimes I think it's a good idea to step out of you comfort zone and express yourself.

Now this is pretty sweet. Glad I inspired you to find the Bronies on your campus, hawkflame. Hope this turns out to be fruitful. Do you think you'll ever put a way out there for you to contact them/they contact you?

 

Im tempting to do something like this, too, after the positive results from the art . So I'll be following this closely. Not to mention that in addition to the pegasister I found via the art, I have both recieved and given brohoofs to two other pegasisters. There's Bronies on campus, now I should find a way to get everypony together.

This just inspired to be on the hunt for bronies around my high school. I guess, I will go on the hunt next week before I am off on a 4 day break off of school. * Throws a smoke bomb*

Not really sure where I'm going to go with this.  I think it all depends on what the reaction is.  I gotta give it a week at least, I figure.  I was thinking of putting a link to a facebook page on the tabs, but I didn't want to put up my own in case some weirdo comes across it.  Maybe create a separate "free brohoof" facebook page or something?

 

Anyway it all depends on how this shakes out.  I only put up a couple of flyers to give it a test of sorts.  Even if this doesn't go any further, hopefully I at least cheered a few people up. 

 

I know I'm not the only brony on campus- I brohoofed a guy with a Derpy shirt in my anime club, and another random guy told me Vinyl Scratch is Best Pony- so they're out there somewhere.

Well I came back today to check on the flyers. One of them was untouched which is understandable since its only been a day but another one...

 

 

Yep, someone took a tag! Even more than that, take a look. Usually on these flyers they take the first tag on the left or right. Here they took one in the middle, for Twilight Sparkle. This suggests to me that this person specifically looked for and took a Twilight tag.

 

So somewhere out there on campus someone thinks Twilight Sparkle is Best Pony:)

 

Anyway a very new and... strange development on the third and last flyer.

 

 

Someone decided to write "What ? Omg! So sexy! So horny!" Then on the bottom on the tags, a bunch of phone numbers with one of them saying "real brony".

 

The big message and the phone numbers seem to be written by different people. So while the "so sexy" seems to be by a troll or hater, I'rm really confused about the phone numbers.

Well I took down the one with the weird message and the phone numbers to discourage trolling. In its place I put up a new one with a link to a brohoof Facebook I created.

 

Anyway I step away for five minutes and already 3 tags are gone!

 

I really hope others think of doing something like this. Maybe I could turn the Facebook page into a brony group for my college.

Wow, that is a rather...interesting development. It was probably a smart move taking that one down, but the Facebook page idea is wonderful.

You know what, I think I'll start doing this kind of stuff more often. I only know of 1 pegasister in my school, my sister says that she knows a girl who watches ponies on a daily basis, so I should start looking for others around my school. Hopefully I don't get any more than 4 chairs broken over my head for liking ponies though. Too many stereotypical middle schoolers (monster energy drink, pot, Jersey shore) too go around and ask about bronydom. Even though at least half of my grade knows.

Well it looks like the facebook page paid off.  Free Brohoof got its first "like" (other than the one I gave it ).  (and I think I know the guy... didn't know he was into MLP, though). I've been thinking of expanding this, maybe encouraging others to do this on other campuses.  It's a great way to know that you're not alone.
