music Songs With Special Significance to you

Are there songs that remind you of your past, person, or whatever? They don't have to be your favorite, necessarily. Just a song that sticks out to you because of a certain event in your life, or a person. Or a thing. *nod*

I have considered my favorite song since a Summer trip in '93, driving in my grandparents' old motor home to our Family Reunion in North Dakota. Was good times with my big bro, riding in the passenger seat and listening to his music.

is associated with more good times with my big bro; a Summer and a year of playing Warcraft II and having him back at the house. Also,
On Me and its
. (lol, Ska King Crab was an AMAZING band. AMAZING.)

will always remind me of walking home from a friend's house at like 2 AM on my first night back from my second Summer at Yellowstone. Reggie in general will probably always remind me of working at North Albany Middle School, and walking to the house I was housesitting way out in North Albany one Summer (and calling my mom to ask if she'd come get me, because I didn't want to walk all the way back, heh.)

More recently,

reminds me of my kitty cat. It was playing when I first took her home, and it is a bit sad because I kinda felt like I was probably gonna have to give her up-my financial situation was not the best. Self-fulfilling prophecy: she's with my friends right now, and I'm in the Air Force ;( But I plan to get her back some time. Whenever I get an apartment off base.

will forever remind me of when I first decided that I couldn't help it; I liked Dodie16, and was gonna have to somehow convince her that she liked me too, heh.

Finally, this past Summer, I got Reel Big Fish's newest album "Candy Coated Fury," a fun little album that had a

of
It grew on me and got stuck in my head whilst I was cleaning toilets at the county fair. Then Dodie16 came to visit, and it and When In Rome's version would get stuck in my head at times, particularly the night before her last night in town, when for some reason I stayed at my house instead of her room. Kinda regretted it. Then early the morning after the next, after a wonderful visit that was the best time of my life that I can remember, I took her to the airport and said goodbye, kissed her on the lips for the first time. And then she kissed me. And then she was gone. Driving home, listening to the radio, that song played. I was like "...damnit," but then started singing along anyway. So there's actually good connotations to it.

Yer turn.

EDIT:...SignificanCe. With a C. not a damn S.

Music is very important in my life.

by The Beatles was my favorite song as a child, and I listened to it a lot. I associate it with the quiet, innocent life I once lived. I also associate it with my family, who were an important part of those younger years of my life.

by Guns N' Roses is important to me because a love of Guns N' Roses is one of the only commonalities between my father and I, and it is one of their most beautiful songs. My parents danced to it at their wedding (they married years after I was born so I attended my own parents' wedding).

from Final Fantasy X is particularly close to me, as Final Fantasy was very important to me in my tween and early teenage years. Most of all though, this song is a reminder of my grandmother. She died several years ago, and we were both really

close. She introduced me to Final Fantasy, and FFX was the first game we played together. To Zanarkand is a beautiful, sad song that captured my feelings when she died, and I played it on my piano the night after she collapsed and was rushed to the hospital.

by Journey is important to me because it reminds me of all of the fun times in art class in high school. We had an in-joke about Journey.

by Voltaire captures the melancholic, melodramatic feelings I have when I am depressed.

Same goes for

by Simon and Garfunkel.

by Reel Big Fish was the song my radio was playing when I got into my first car accident (it was a really bad one).

Lastly,

by John Lennon,
by The Beatles, and Like a Bruise by Jon Itkin sum up a good portion of my life and feelings.

Yeah, most of them are kind of sad, but that's what is most memorable for me, I guess.

South Pacific Overture: It was the first musical I was ever involved in as a violinist. The music was so memorable, I wish I could play it again.

: The first piano concerto I ever played with an orchestra. It was an awesome experience.

: Sums up my love life right now. When I think I get close to attaining the love of my life, it just whooshes away in a stormy fashion. Also my favourite piece played from "The Pianist".

: The hardest piece I have ever played and will play in my whole life. I will never forget the struggles I currently have with this piece.

: The first rag I ever played. Will never forget the first time I played it.

Those are just some of the pieces with really special significance to me. I have a lot more.

The song ride on by AC/DC probably their only slow song they have.

I like to listen to this song because the lyrics and they way they are sung is relaxing. Also it makes me feel like no matter what happens you still have to ride on and move forward never letting anything get in your way. It's nice to have a song that is special to you. Plus the solos in this song are absolutely amazing.

Except for the part towards "writing songs", this song pretty much shows off my inspired self. And I can always trust my friends just in case I "fall down".

and this song.

I'm a huge fan of this song. Everytime I listen to it, it reminds me of what my goals are in life, and why is it taking me so long in achieving them. It gets me to think "Megan, why haven't you achieved them? What if you never complete them?" I have a long life ahead, so it gives me more motivation to do them. :3

Both of these songs remind me of my boyfriend. The first by Gotye I fell in love with when he was away at Basic, and I realized just how much I loved and missed him. Also, how much he's changed me for the better:

This next one would come on the radio when I played Fallout 3, and couldn't help but think of Tom everytime it did. ^^

I was born while the song Mr. Jones by: Counting Crows was playing in the hospital.  My mom named me after the singer in that band.  I guess all of the songs by Counting Crows have significance to me because of that fact.  I generally enjoy their music.  It has sort of a soft flow to it.
