Possible new Mane 6 Character in Season 4?

I was being sarcastic - if I didn't like puns (or actually thought they were evil) I would have never really like MLP in the first place.

I for one believe that everything will be fine just leave it up to the writers to take care of everything. I mean they haven't been steering us wrong hardly at all have they? I would like to see her cannon, maybe in an entire episode to her. But in response to her taking over as one of the mane 6 I respond with this.

I think I'd be okay with a new Mane Pony, especially if it were a unicorn to balance the scales again.  If it is, though, I'm kind of hoping for one of the older-generation ponies.  I'd personally like it to be Gusty

 

But don't get me wrong.  Sunset Shimmer is a lovely pony and I certainly wouldn't say no to her.  Or to any new addition, provided she's a valuable addition to the Mane 6 7.  Nowhere does it say that there can ONLY be six.  The "Mane Six" is a fan-made term, to my knowledge.

The mane 6 are still Twilight Sparkle, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, and Rarity. That will never change no matter what. Twilight is not gone, and I'm personally getting really annoyed by people saying that. She isn't being taken from the show, she is just an Alicorn. If they were to change the mane 6 and remove Twilight the show would lose a bunch of people who watch the show. While that pony looks great, it she won't be part of the mane 6 or even part of the actual tv show. It's just a unique toy for Hasbro to sell so they can make some extra money.

That was actually confirmed to be an animation error. Twilight's cutie mark still has five white stars, so I doubt they'd add a new pony simply because of that.

I think that Hasbro like Rainbow Dash Presents....They gave toy ponies wrestling masks just like their version of Rainbow Factory!

 

Though seriously, I think that this new pony may be a plot point for some episode like how Trixie and Lightning Dust were, but we never questioned them taking over another character when before we ever saw those episodes, there was plenty or room for speculation....

Well, the biggest reason for Sunset Shimmer's "controversy" is that she's from a toy line that consists of all of Mane 6 except Twilight. She's also the only none-Mane 6 pony in this toy line, so people automatically assume that she's replacing Twilight.

 

What alot of people are forgetting is that these masked-pony toys are from the same line as the Princess Twilight toys, so the reason why there is no masked-Twilight is most likely so that children will be more likely to want the $40 Princess Twilight toy as opposed to a $5 Masked Twilight toy.

 

It's called supply & demand people. The fewer cheap Twilight Sparkle toys they have, the more people will have to buy the more expensive ones.

take a close look at Sunset Shimmer's cutie mark.... now take a look at twilight's. what do they both have in common? sunset's cutie mark is a sun. twilight's is a star. both are six-pointed. sunset's cutie mark has a yin-yang type pattern in the center. now think of luna and celestia's origin story, the balance between night and day. foreshadowing? add in everything else we've noticed. sunset shimmers name is synonymous to twilight's. there's a new star. the balance between the races needs another unicorn. mother of god. we may be on to something here. my theory? sunset shimmer isn't replacing twilight, but twilight sparkle and sunset shimmer will be counterparts, similar to how celestia and luna are counterpart/opposites. am i out of my mind and over-analyzing the crap out of a kid's show? maybe, but then again its just crazy enough to work.

 

as for a new character? i love the idea. i don't like it when the writers change existing characters (twilicorn), but i'm always open to new characters being introduced. i happen to really love sunset shimmer's design and i excited to hopefully to see her in a future episode.

Yeah, I've seen others mention this. I definitely am intrigued by Sunset Shimmer's design, especially because of her cutie mark. It's not like all of the other generic marks that other toy ponies get. Celestia and Luna have that night/day motif, and Twilight and Sunset appear that way as well. Sunset could be a student of Luna, or maybe Twilight will have herself a student? Or maybe it's just a really cool toy and that's it.

 

We'll find out sooner or later.
