Would you like to see a Wizard of Oz parody in Season 4?

I mean, I know it has been done before in many other shows, but it would be pretty cool to see Twilight going throughout an Oz-like place with Spike replacing Toto (LOL). Other roles could be:

Applejack as the Scarecrow

Rarity as the Tinman

Fluttershy as the Lion

Luna as the Benevolent Princess (Or the nice Witch)

Celestia as Oz

Medusa as the Wicked Witch

Harpies as the flying monkeys

I guess the Cutie Mark Crusaders could be the Munchkins... along with some other young fillies

I'm not sure if these roles would be perfect for each charater, but they are fairly close. If you can think of other characters to play each role, do tell.

But, imagine Twilight saying "Spike, I don't think that we're in Equestria anymore!"

I would like to see something around it. As long as Chrysalis returns as the villain. But in all seriousness I don't think centering an enture season off one thing would be a great idea

I could see it happen, I'm just not sure if they would do that or not. They kinda already did it in the comic book. Queen Chrysalis is watching the mane 6 threw a crystal ball and then she sends out the changelings like the flying monkeys. 

 

So it could work. But here is how I would do it.

 

Queen Chrysalis as the Wicked Witch.

Changelings as the flying monkeys.

Cadence as the good witch

Star Swirl or an earth pony as the great and powerful OZ.

 

So maybe.

This can be an episode that I would want to watch with excitement. Just knowing I it does happen, I will be waiting to see who gets what part and what references are made.

I don't know about making them take the exact roles of them, this just sounds like ponification of some sort. Making references to the Wizard of Oz like using Twilight's balloon leaving off, tapping their red horseshoes to go home, there's no place like home... etc. would be funny. It's interesting to note that there are references from Wizard of Oz already in MLP. Lauren Faust did describe Wizard of Oz as one of her inspirations for MLP:FiM.

 

-The Great and Powerful Trixie shares her title with "The Great and Powerful Oz" from The Wizard of Oz.

 

-Fluttershy's plan to catch the animals, complete with maniacal laughter and the phrase "I'll catch you yet, my pretties", somewhat echoes the Wicked Witch of the West from the 1939 film adaptation of The Wizard of Oz.

 

-The sea serpent's cry of "What a world! What a world!" is a reference to The Wizard of Oz.

 

-Fluttershy's line "Loons and Toucans and Bitterns, oh my!" echoes the quote "Lions and Tigers and Bears, oh my!" from The Wizard of Oz.

 

-Queen Chrysalis's chambers are an allusion to the Wicked Witch of the West's from the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz.

Yes! Sounds like a great episode. I like most of your role choices... especially Luna as the good witch, rather than Cadence. I think the role would benefit her character more, since Cadence is already the all-purpose good girl.

 

Pinkie could be the door guard. I guess Rainbow can be the horse of a different color

 

I wish Fluttershy wasn't such a shoe-in for the lion. I'd ROFL the day away if she got to be the grumpy apple tree.

 

It would be cool if the Great and Powerful Trixie got to be Oz... but I think Celestia would be best, given how sweet the interactions with Twilight would be.

 

I think the wicked witch should be an existing character. As mentioned above, Chrysalis would work, especially with changelings as flying monkeys. Alternatively, if it really is all just Twilight's dream, it could be Nightmare Moon. That would also eliminate the killing, since she'd just turn back into Luna when doused with water In that case, maybe Chrysalis is the witch of the east (i.e. squished like a bug... get it?)
