I'd say "probably", it'll definitely take a good number of years to go by before I can say for certain. But since "yes" was the closest answer available, that's what I went with.

Pretty much anyone will have to agre that it's at least the best animation of any made-for-TV western cartoon yet made

"My Little Pony" has changed the criteria by which I would define my favorite cartoon.  There was a time when I considered "The Simpsons" my overall favorite TV show.  I would say the reason for that was a combination of loving the humor, enjoying the stories, and caring about the characters.  But after falling in love with the ponies, I don't think that I could ever site another cartoon with human characters as my favorite.  And since friendships have always been the most important relationships in my life, I cannot think of another guiding theme that would mean more to me.

No, because My Little Pony isn't Secret Saturdays. Maybe not even Batman, because of what that meant to me when I was younger.

My Little Pony has an easier time competing against my lesser loves, like Sym-bionic Titan, Outlaw Star, Garfield and Friends, Rocko's Modern Life, Adventure Time, Darkwing Duck, and Aladdin.

That's not bad, though: Secret Saturdays is a tough act to beat.

It's definitely one of them, but I'm bad at picking favorites, and I can't say it's my only favorite. My other favorite cartoons would be (in no particular order)

-Invader Zim

-Ruby Gloom

-Powerpuff Girls

And some others, but those 4 (counting FiM) are probably at the top.

Although MLP is in my top 10, it is definitely not my all time favourite cartoon. The cartoons I prefer are Ed, Edd n Eddy, Spongebob (seasons 1-3), rugrats and Garfield and friends.

However, if MLP has any future creative and unpredictable plots, it could enter my top 5 and might make no. 1.

Well, personally, I've always never really been interested in cartoons. I prefer playing TF2 all day, so out of the limited range of cartoons I've seen MLP FiM is gonna have to tie for first with Ed Edd n Eddy and The Powerpuff Girls. All good shows with fair qualities in my opinion, and very entertaining too :3

It's one of my favorite cartoons, but my favorite is "The Adventures of Tin Tin". Yes, FiM is up there, but I just have too many good memories from my childhood of Tin Tin.

MLP is not my favourite cartoon, that honor belongs to Avatar:The Last Airbender, I watched the series three times already and I'm not getting tired of it.

You mean "Tintin" right? I've never really watched the cartoons but I'm a fan of the comics /)

Nah, far from it. I like the show, and I like the fandom even more, but I wouldn't even put it in my top 10.

Dragon Ball Z will always be my favorite.

As much as I like MLP, my favorite cartoons of all time are Digimon and Samurai Jack.  Also The Simpsons and South Park, if those count.  I also like multiple teen/adult anime better.

That said, MLP is my favorite show I've seen in years and my favorite piece of entertainment at the moment.

I love you.

Even though I don't consider it my favorite (well currently it is, but all time it isn't yet), I give the show a lot of credit for appealing to who it does. I mean shows like Teen titans and Avatar appealed to such a wide variety of fans young and old, as both had more mature themes in them.

MLP is a show based towards young girls, yet it still was able to find a huge appeal to older guys and girls, which when you think about it is quite an accomplishment. It might also open the doors to other younger children's shows which may think that the same is possibly.

Yes, Tintin, whatever. I've never read the comics, but I loved the show. I may not like the comics though, given Herge's affiliation with the Nazi party.

Cartoon? yes.

Looking at the smut on today's Television channels and comparing it with MLP? MLP beats them all.

My favorite thing of all time? No. But looking at it from a general perspective, most of my days are brightened by this wonderful, talented fandom.

That has never really been confirmed, he did say at one point that he agreed with the "New Order" idea of the Nazis, but he eventually changed his mind and politics never really found their way in the comics, he just worked for a newsaper that had was under the control of the Nazis during the occupation. There is a rather offensive portrayal of africans in one of the earliers comics, but they eventually became more anti-racist as time went on. You probably would like them.

Weren't there Jewish villains in the original comic? Particularly the one where nations around the world were racing to stake claim to a meteorite floating in the ocean? In the show, the villains were just random businessmen, but I read that the original villains were Jews from New York.

Yes, the original was written during the Nazi occuation, and Hergé was forced to have the antagonists be american. The jewish name was a mistake though, it wasn't intentional. The comic was modified after the war to remove the jewish villain and make him a generic businessman, and the cartoon was based on the revised version. Hergé was working for a pro-nazi newspaper and had to follow his employer's orders, so there is questionable content in the older versions of the comics, but most of it was removed to fit his original vision after the war.

I don't spite him for it then. There were many great artists in Nazi countries who were members of the Nazi party who weren't Nazis themselves. Richard Strauss, for example has a negative reputation for being a member of the Nazi party, and Hitler's inner circle even championed him for a time, though the man was completely against the ideology, the hatred, and pairing art with nationalism. I'll give the comics a try. Have they been collected into trades?

Digimon Tamers will always be my all time favorite. I've loved that show since it first aired in August of 2001 (a few months before I turned 11). Actually, I think I love it even more now, seeing as I get all the subtle adult situations in that anime. MLP:FIM is close in second however.

You know what, after giving it much thought, I think MLP is probably my all time favorite cartoon. I asked my family on a scale from 1-10 where they would rank my obsession of the show and all of them said that I would be off the charts, lol wub.png. When I think about it, this is the only show where I actively participate in forums, favorite artwork, and read fanfiction. No other cartoon has ever had that effect on me.

So yeah, MLP is best cartoon (at least in this generation, if you don't think it is) laugh.png.

I like MLP as a show but wouldn't go as far as saying it's my all-time fav cartoon. It ranks 2nd on my list of all time fav cartoons. Ed Edd n' Eddy has been my favorite show since I first seen it. I remember even seeing the early promos for the cartoon as well back in the late 90's too. I enjoyed the characters and the artwork that went behind it as well. Sure it looked simple but that's what made it good too. Now if you asked me which is my fav community of all time then I would say the brony fandom.

  • 1 year later...

Not at all. I doubt it would even make my top 5 list.

Sig made by Kyoshi.

Cool things people have said about me:

Never heard of him but I guess just you mentioning him is a good reason not to go anywhere near that name.

(In reference to an author I suggested.)
