Overreacting to weirdness is fun :3

Lurking channels. lulz.

Quit lurking, start doing.

What's wrong with lurking a YouTube channel? And what can I "do" to it, it's a bunch of tutorials. I'm doing things in FLS itself.

I did (most) my crap by myself without actual videos by just listening to it. I did, however, steal presets from all over.

Of course, everything I did came out as shit at first, but thats not the point.

Trust me, these videos have helped me tremendously. It's good that you're learning how to do things by yourself though. I wouldn't have the patience.

Although, I'm stealing a lot of presets too. We're noobs though, it doesn't really matter at this point.

i decided to give the wobble bass tut a try. wee learning new things to do.

plus, a very rare kind of deal; a guy who doesn't talk in a video tutorial, and everything runs by smoothly??? BLESS HIS SOUL.

I know, right? I like this format better than having someone talk because 9/10 times the dude's voice is annoying as shit.

Overreacting to weirdness is fun :3

I think it's silly.

@,

(Insert witty rebuttal here)

Error. Rebuttal not found. Error.

So I see, I thought you were just watching a bunch of tutorials. It seems I was mistaken.

I was going to show some progress here, but imgur has the dumb today. I learned how to shade... and it wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be.

He meant just go do it in FL. Which honestly, I'd say don't do that. Stay with the tuts.

I would have been better off had I actually paid attention to any tutorials. :U

I can't make my own sound cause I always found that they had a preset below, so I'd skip the vid, take the set, and think I'm cool. :|

And I actually don't think I know anything special in that program. Like, at all. Automation isn't high-tier enough to be considered anything special.

Nah, he was confuzzled. You've been ninja'd.

Learning how to use synths is incredibly hard and time consuming. Time consuming being the worst part. So I can definitely understand. I just want to get the basics of how to structure a song down, and then I'll move into using synths and developing my own sound.

Speaking of which, I just got my MIDI to USB cable in the mail today, so I can use this old synth keyboard as a controller. The keys aren't pressure sensitive, that's how old this thing is. Might be from the 80's, but it's pretty cool I think.

Found a pic of it (apparently it's from 1985):

And yeah, automation is pretty easy to grasp, but how and when to use it is a whole different matter.

i've used automation a bit, myself. in the latest song i made, i used it to shift up and down the sweeper sounds i had made, and to manipulate volume for a few tracks, like the fading out end of the track (does FL Studio have a built-in fading option you can use on volume envelopes?)

i saw it, was immediately turned off. people shouldn't over-glorify such a serious issue (and over-glorify an non-existant issue such as a celebrity teenage pop star smoking weed)

I think it's silly.

Almost everything that is fun often considered silly somewhere y0Qnc.png

I obtained another requested art piece. What do you think of this one?

The book's position is a bit weird... Shouldn't it be a bit more upward? Stallion's snout is large

Other than that, it's good!

I know it's ridiculous, the so called beliebers have just gone too far with this one... *sigh* it makes me lose faith in humanity :|

I don't care for the way this one is done. Too simplistic and I'm not liking his style.

Oh? I like it though. Hm. Also, the artist is female. I've come to find that most of the artists who do request threads are female.

Confused or not, he's wrong~

I really should get me some sort of midi controller. Not sure why exactly, but I should.

For Dubstep, used on every single wobble. Badaboom~

Aah, well my bad.

Jumping into a music program without a tutorial is like jumping out of a plane without a parachute. Surely you won't die, but it will be a major waste of time and energy (which you would also waste as you're plummeting to your death).

that's a pretty neat keyboard you have there. it would be a shame if something... HAPPENED TO IT.

my brother's got two keyboards himself, the recent one being a Yamaha one which costed 35,000 SEK or so. he has an old Casio keyboard he's given to me, but the thing is, i don't have any damn room for the thing inside of here.

Then i guess I jumped out of a plane with no parachute.

And lived.

Not sure if lucky or just good...

Maybe a little bit of both? I attempted FL Studio once, but I didn't have the aptitude or the patience. I can pick up and play a few instruments, but as far as song composition goes I'm only good for lyrics.

no u

It helps. I have yet to set mine up, but I'm sure it'll come in handy.

Yes, but there's tons of other ways to use it besides that.

Shush with the Minecraft jokes.

Is 35,000 considered expensive?

My dad has synths and keyboards and all kinds of other electronic music equipment laying around because he had an interest in it awhile ago. He used to compose tunes on an old DAW that ran on Windows 3.1 with a guitar and some other MIDI keyboard he has somewhere.

Possibly. I'll go with 'lucky' for now, though.

I really should learn music theory...
