i can agree at first, but even on the forums the atmosphere has changed from when i first joined here. call me old and biased all you want, it HAS changed, and i'm not entirely fond of the changes. it's what always made me leave the forums for another site.

The show got me here and I still love it, maybe a tad less, but the fandom keeps me around mostly.

actually I'm quite curious about what things changed because I feel the forums is not as interesting as it was before.

the forum was more tightly-knit, due to not being a place with however many members it has now. it was small, so users were more close to each other. that's the impression i got, anyway. it was a lot more relaxed, and rules were enforced but not brought down upon that much because people generally behaved better. it was much more friendly, now the place seems to have quite a bit of nasty, cynical characters. stuff like having a sub-forum dedicated to Alicorn Twilight just seems to confirm that, to me.

 

it's what i can think of now, anyway. i'm still here because, all things considered, this place still has one of the nicer userbases i've met. it's just not as good as it once were.

If you go from a small close group of users into a giant flood, you're bound to notice. Whereas the place was lax back then, you can't do that now. It's changing for the better of itself,but old normals are gonna feel every shift and usually not like it.

 

Mind you I got here in between the old times and the giant influx.

If you're a part of a forum from it's humble beginnings, and said forum becomes insanely popular after awhile, all of the members that were there in the beginning are guaranteed to become cynical to the changes. It's how the internet works.

 

I think only a movie could make me weep. Even if it was a 3 parter or something of the sort, it all needs to be clumped together to get me on that emotional ride in one sitting.

 

Movies, music, short 2 minute clips on YouTube, select literature, and my own wandering thoughts have made me cry before. I'm pretty emotional, despite my hard exterior.

I think the best part of the whole last episode was when Celestia sang. That made the episode for me. Really.
