My point is that sexual orientation for all ponies is unknown. You can write them in any way you want.

 

Indeed, ponies need not even have sexual orientations in the way humans do. They could be more along the lines of "liking the ponies they like" and therefore see the idea of trying to separate who they romance or sex via gender lines as silly. I like to write them that way, because it means they're functionally pansexual and that appeals to me.

 

'Course, that's me. Other people can write them how they like. All I'm saying is: it's free for interpretation because it's not something stated in canon and not something that ever will be stated in canon.

I think you're assuming things about how ponies act that might be best not assumed given evidence elsewhere. That is--we've seen very little gender stereotyping in the show, which only makes sense given how much the Mane Six themselves are never ever shamed or looked down upon for being who they are. Gender roles, if they exist in Equestria at all, exist in a very different manner to our society. Unlike with the sexual orientation bits though, this has to be looked at much more strictly due to what we've seen in canon.

 

Now it's still possible he'd feel uncomfortable and annoyed, but that'd be more just because they're smothering him.

And your argument is, in itself an assumption of the negative. Also there's nothing that leads me to believe that Equestrian gender roles are all that different from the Western world. This isn't a fantasy world with drastically different social norms. It was modeled after the real world, and that realness is what makes the characters believable. This is unless you want to deny the fact that there are no female scholars, partiers, daredevils, fashion designers, farm hands, veterinarians, or any of the other roles the mares in the show have.

 

Also since when was I even talking about gender roles? Kids not being into girls at a young age has nothing to do with gender roles. It's a question of biology, and since the ponies are modeled after human personalities, I really don't think it's a giant logical leap to imagine that colts and fillies aren't attracted to each other, mirroring actual child behavior.

 

So if you want to accuse me of baseless conjecture and call me a fool, best look at what my argument is first.

yo GCT, i have a question that you might be able to answer for me. I am dooing a rebbot of a roleplay and was wondering if i make a new thread or go off the old one? I was going to make a new thread but being paranoid i wanted to make sure i didnt do anything wrong

No, we're not, and again I wasn't talking about gender roles at all - merely how little kids act. My opinion on the matter is that Rumble doesn't like older mares calling him cute and playing around with like he's a pet. If Rumble is anything like his brother (and younger siblings do emulate their older siblings), then he wants to be a big, tough, fast flier as well. That's just my guess on the matter.

If you want to reboot something, better get the old participants ready before you start anything. A new thread is always the better way to go, unless you're the OP of the old thread
