That is true, but there are ways to mitigate the risk a bit. Overall I'd rate a hard drive over a tape cassette in terms of durability, though.

the My Name Is Skrillex EP is available to download for free on his FB page, i believe, so you could begin there. his first 2 EPs are a good place to start listening to, imo. More Monsters and Nice Sprites is good too. Bangarang is an acquired taste.

this a thousand times over. i try to be as open as physically possible against every kind of music there is. i don't see the point in limiting my tastes to a set number of genres and bands and artists and what-not.

 

I try to do this as well. Country is the only one I really hate and won't listen to. I still consider it music and whatnot and won't usually bash it in a legit manner.

I will confess that my opinion of cassettes is colored somewhat by the frequency with which I've had them eaten alive by tape decks.

 

As for HDDs, they aren't bullet proof, to be sure, but they are fairly sturdy with a decent RAID setup, though that starts to become financially impractical once you start going up into the several terabyte range in terms of storage.

Only had it for maybe a year or more and I'm still learning all of its amazing abilities. Not to mention I've only tried Fl Studio.

I just jumped in one day and attempted something. No real learning other than experience and some tutorials. I am also still really amateur at the whole thing.

Nah. Id rather actually do it and then be tired with a slight headache starting and not lie about how well versed I am in music making.
