Besides, field soldiers are taught to do more than obey orders. They learn to take responsibility for their actions, and even worse, get blamed for it.

Some stupid soldier fires on civvies, you can scream all you want that it was the politicians fault civvies got shot but trigger man is still the soldier.

Politicians may demand where but army decides how.

And stupid voters are the fault there are politicians who go to war in the first place.

See, this is why soldiers are seen as mass-murderers by a lot of anti-military pricks. They think it's wrong to kill people regardless of reason or order.

 

Also, voters are not stupid, they're misinformed. You've no idea how far leaders can go to manipulate people, and I don't just mean politicians, but also leaders of smaller communities - even forum admins (like that cb000 from YAF I mentioned).

Hell, even grunts can be misinformed.

 

Please note that I'm not trying to generalize. Each community has its jerks and liars, the military is just another example.

I'm not hungry, I'm curious. I might have one though. And I have my own waffles, just had them for lunch. I never eat waffles for breakfast. And I have my own juice, I don't need juice boxes.
