Well, Vile didn't technically kill Zero, as Zero overloaded himself.

 

But yes, that was actually an emotional moment, which made me furious at sigma and Vile when I was little.

yes, i feel better. how long it'll last i dunno, so i'll probably send that email i have to my family so they have a bit more awareness of how i tend to feel like. but i feel that i might be getting out of these dark, trudgy weeks i've had recently.

I can never quite remember what happened. It was Sigma's first stage, and Zero goes alone to fight Vile, and when you finally go in, he's dying, and he gives you his upgraded blaster before disintegrating, but he reappears in a later game. All I remember thinking was, "Holy crap, if Vile can beat Zero, then what chance do I have?"

I think X2 was the first video game that impressed me with a deep plot. There were those three guys that you first saw only in shadows. Were they mavericks or a completely different faction? I feel like they were playing both sides.
