I've had two very notable targeted advertising failures myself

 

Firstly, while I was still 17, I got an advertisement for alcohol, which also contained a warning to not distribute it to people under 18. So, targeted ads directly gave me something that I shouldn't distribute to those who are underage, despite being underage myself at the time. (To clarify, 18 is the legal drinking age in Australia, not 21)

 

Secondly, while I can't remember what the actual product was, I got an ad for something for pregnant women to use. No, Google, I am not a women, and I am not pregnant. If Google can't even get my gender right, they must have some pretty big flaw in their targeting system. No-one significant in my life was pregnant either, so I didn't have anyone to buy it for in case that's what Google was getting at.

Um, this ordering of events doesn't sound possible. If you died because you had a horrible funeral, then wouldn't that mean you were alive at the start of your funeral? Why would you have a funeral in the first place if you were still alive?
