I got centrist. That's what I expected because I tend to be pretty in the middle when it comes to a lot of issues, and I usually don't really lean far towards one side.

Well, you may be more socially liberal, which means you also believe in some personal rights, not just economic ones, y'know, that can be fun.

I would pretty much agree with this representation. There are things that governments do right and things...that...they just shouldn't have done >.( , but what government doesn't have any wrongs :? It's sad that (and I know this will sound stupid) people have different opinions that it makes "Utopian" living possible. (Again, gunna sound stupid) As long as people have opposite views, governments will always seem "corrupt", which is why I tend to stay out of politics for the most part :|

No offense to anyone, but I find some of the little quips and explanations people posted above me to be strangely funny.

 

I didn't like the questions; too "My favorite politician told me to hate this, so I hate it."  

 

Quick question: Did anyone actually check "Yes" to the last statement (Cut government spending and taxes by 50% or more.)?  I'd like to see some explanations.  Something tells me that, if people did, 95% of them actually have no idea what they just supported.

 

Oh, and if you're curious about my ideology: I'm now using the term "realist leftoid".

This doesn't really surprise me. We took a longer version of this test in AP Gov that was probably more accurate, but I got about the same thing. I don't think the quiz covers a wide enough range of topics though.

Ya not surprised.  I've always been a moderate.  I wish there was a strong moderate party.  I'm sick of always having to chose been between left-wing nut job A and right-wing nut job B in every election.  It's usually always a choice between the lesser of two evils.  There aren't only two view points in the word, so why is there only two (major) parties?  I don't see our nation ever improving as long as we have a strict two party system, it's always going to be a down hill slide.  In fact parties in general are just a bad idea.  Why can't people just run on their own?

Yeah, that sounds about right. This test was a lot shorter than I thought it would be, it was nice to have something that wasn't a thousand pages long.

Let's see where I go...

Not terribly surprising; I already knew I was a lefty. I do kind of distrust the accuracy of a chart put out by something called the "Advocates for Self-Government", though. Charts gets screwy once somebody's advocating for something.

 

I'm not really sure why liking/not liking a National ID moves you on the Personal Issues scale. Shouldn't it be IDs in general? Surely a Libertarian wouldn't want state government having information on them any more then they'd want the federals having it. There's nothing different in having the state legislature tax/regulate you than Congress. A case could also be made that a National ID would benefit from the scale of economy, thus costing less per unit, saving taxpayer money, and thus being a step in the direction of Libertarianism. As a bonus, it would only require businesses and individuals to match a single database rather than fifty, thus saving them time and effort (and money) as well. I get that the idea behind it is "more/less government control", but it strikes me as a poorly formed question.

Actually, I usually place somewhere in the middle with a slight lean to the right on most tests. This was pretty darn accurate.
