10 question can't paint an accurate picture of anything, but I got 100 on personal issues and 30 on economic issues and that lands me in the mis-termed category of "Liberal."  I absolutely hate the Democratic Party, hate them as much as Republicans. I consider them to be a sect of the fake left.

I was given Centrist but as can be clearly seen I'm teetering on the edge of Statist.

Not surprised. Can't be surprised. Big Brother tells me what I'll do before I do it,

Seems about par for the course.

Hmmm I am the only "Statist" so far. I am not surprised however.

I do not agree with the definition, I also think a longer quiz should be made to get a more definitive answer.

Longer quiz with questions reviewed by multiple committees before final approval.

Libertarian

Libertarians support maximum liberty in both personal and economic matters. They advocate a much smaller government; one that is limited to protecting individuals from coercion and violence. Libertarians tend to embrace individual responsibility, oppose government bureaucracy and taxes, promote private charity, tolerate diverse lifestyles, support the free market, and defend civil liberties.

Yeah, I'd say that fits me to a tee.

It showed up as conservative on this. I've taken other quizzes like this with more questions and show up as centralist. I'm pretty even in terms of left and right wing policies and it balances out in the middle. However, if I had to choose which I was on, I would identify myself as a conservative.

Ohhh interesting, lets see what I get

https://www.proprofs.com/quiz-school/story.php?title=what-is-your-political-ideology_1

You got: Communist

You believe that capitalism creates unfair differences between rich and poor, wastes resources and destroys the environment. You believe that democracy is corruptable by the rich and therefore incompetent. For you, leaders should be appointed meritocratically. In your perfect system, a dictatorial governemnt controls everything in order to ensure a perfect society.

You would agree with the teachings of Karl Marx and similar writers. There are Communist Parties in most democratic countries. Communist countries today include Cuba, North Korea, China and Vietnam.

The RED DOT on the Chart shows where you fit on the political map.

Your PERSONAL Issues Score is 0%

Your ECONOMICS Issues Score is 40%

According to your answers, the political group that agrees with you most is...

Statist (Big Government)
Statists want government to have a great deal of power over the economy and individual behavior. They frequently doubt whether economic liberty and individual freedom are practical options in today's world. Statists tend to distrust the free market, support high taxes and centralized planning of the economy, oppose diverse lifestyles, and question the importance of civil liberties.

E.g. Communism

Left-leaning, center-leaning libertarian does seem like me, though I do think I'm more centrist than I am either of the others.

While I do think it could have benefited from more questions, I've taken other tests and gotten similar results to this, so yeah, I think this is fairly accurate.

(It's really interesting seeing how many people here are right-leaning, too. Phew.)

 You got: Liberal

You believe in democracy and find that freedom and rights are the most important component of a society. You believe that everyone is born equal and that there should be a strong constitution to ensure people are free to act as they please as long as they don't hurt each other. You hold a progressive attitude to most moral issues and believe that new and different cultures and lifestyles are good for a society. You are in favour of science, technology and globalisation. To you, traditions and religion are not that important.

There are liberal political parties in most democratic countries. Some examples include:
America: Democratic Party
European Union: ALDE (and their national members)
Canada: Liberal Party
Japan: Democratic Party

The freest country in the world is Estonia.

Still a bit too short of a test. I say again: Political Compass and 8 values are much, much better. Hell, I don't think the test even mentioned cultures, yet supposedly I'm all for multiculturalism? Race and culture are not one in the same.

I got Liberal despite a decent amount of my views are more towards neutral or more on the Egalitarian/Libertarian side. Fuck Globalization though. We don't need that crap.

Most likely, you're a filthy Neo-Liberal, just like me. I'd be far more curious how people would rank in the 8values test.

Moving to General Discussion as this is not a debate in any sense of the word. Just because something is related to politics doesn't mean it's DP-material.

Yours was better, though still slightly off. Anarchism has always been generalized as a left-wing ideology against Capitalism, so both left-anarchists and AnCaps agree that the distinction should be made. Also the last sentence in this description takes the prize for dumbest thing I've read all week lol.

Gave up on the first 2 questions, none of my actual beliefs were listed as answers. Feels like this quiz completely ignores voluntarism and syndicalism.

To put it in simplest terms, I'm a libertarian socialist.

I took that one twice last and found it to not be very good. Have you tried the one provided by the OP? It's shorter and surprisingly accurate. Displaying the result on a graph so you can see exactly why you are rather than over generalization.

I didn't like OP's because it lays each belief out in corners. As far as I'm concerned I'm WAY further left than a liberal, and yet my position is probably in the very middle between "liberal" and "conservative". Also, 10 questions doesn't really paint an accurate picture.

Anyway, I don't think political charts are usually super amazing, I know what I am and I don't need to be put on a chart.

I'll agree with this. At least for the most part.

Took yours, and I got Liberal, but I agree, some answers were tough because they weren't exact for me, but I did the best with what it gave me. Which it wasn't that bad.

Knew what the answer was before I even took it.

libertarian-quizmap.svg

though the point where I diverge with other libertarians is on is of legalizing drug possession. Do what you want as long as it doesn't affect anyone else is the saying. But with drugs, others can and will pay the price for one users choices. Just ask the growing list of people that have lost someone to heroin.

Also I was in the middle on taxes. Lower them yes, but not by that much. What we need is a proper allocation of tax money. Lots of money being gathered. Seemingly little of it being put to proper use.

  • 5 years later...

Just for my own curiosity and cuz im boreddd. Also looks like they updated the chart a teensy bit over the years:

Spoiler

Screenshot_20231009_004228_Brave.thumb.jpg.ed6d8209ec76909f34a4c622d3040e6a.jpg

Those questions would need more thoughtful responses than a choice of 1 choice out of 3 to get something much more accurate.  but it's fine for something very generalized like this.

If you're on mobile and the chart looks weird, force the desktop view on the browser and it should look fine. Also, there's a tiny "X" you have to click if you're not logged in to see your results. ;)
