Opinion on scene kids

I love the scene kid look when it's not over done with a bunch oh piercings and stuff. I hate the piercings and gauges and such but I love their hair. In my opinion scene hair on boys is so freaking hawt hawt HAWT. I don't like the stereotypical scene music and I really hate the scene stereotypes which include:

-all they do is whine

-all they do is cut them selves over stupid things

-they're automatically faggots and bad people

The whole cutting stereotype really pisses me off. All the scene/emos I met do not cut themselves.

SO what do you think?

My opinion on 'Scene' kids? If they want to go under that title, they should go play in Drama class.
Eh, I don't mind the look, but have never really been one to look into it very much. I do know someone who went through a scene phase, though.

I generally dont care about them. Its not that i dont like them;its just that i dont pay attention to them. I had a friend tell me once that these are just labels put on people to make them feel different or something like that. The "scene" kids i met in my lifetime are pretty funny people to hang out with.

I fully support scene/goth/emo kids. They can like what they like. It doesn't make a huge difference, so why freak out about it. They're just normal people, like you and me. sleep.png

Are there still scene kids? I haven't seen any in years. Maybe "scene" means something different now but I remembered the general "scene kid" look being A-line mullets teased in the back with crazy colors or horizontal stripes/animal print, side bangs, bows, hello kitty, gloomy bear, snakebites, plugs in ears, etc. They liked myspace celebs like Kiki Kannibal and Jeffrey star, and listened terrible music. Those kind of scene kids are pretty much extinct.

Are you sure you don't mean sea punks?

Please stop saying "faggot". It's weird.

The style can be kinda nice, even if it is pretty much a mish-mash of stuff stolen from several other subcultures that Scene kids manage to make slightly less awesome... img-1431514-1-huh.png That actually kind of annoyed me a little, but whatever. I guess you could argue that Scene has been around since the 80's, but I won't go into that.

Whilst I highly doubt that this is true for all "Scene kids", the ones around my area were complete douche bags. Then they all turned into Hardcore kids, and then somehow jumped the Indie bandwagon, before finally evolving into Hipsters. I'm not entirely sure how that even works.

Some of the American ones I spoke to seemed nice, though.

I never really got into it myself, I was always much more attracted to the Alternative scene around here.

As much as I stand for free speech, I'd have to agree with her. "Faggot" is far too awkward to hear from someone so seemingly innocent.

Anyway, as for my opinion on "scene kids," well, I typically don't mind them or their personal likes since I have never came across one that bothered me.

I don't like the stereotypical scene music

Aren't you the same person who that scene kids listened to metal? LOL

Personally, I think their hair looks stupid. But I do have a friend who's into that sorta stuff and he's a really nice guy. I've made fun of him a lot though, I kinda feel bad.

scene/goth/emo

Dude those three things are COMPLEATLY different. Especially goth and emo, two compleatly different things. Goth was something that started WAY back in the 80's. Emo was sort of an off shoot from punk from the mid to late 80's.

I dislike how they took the term emo and made it to describe them and their music. Yeah, they're music is technically post-hardcore, but it doesn't really fit in with the majority of emo. Just mislabeling. <_<

I know they're totally different. I support all of them nonetheless. Trust me, I know. So please don't flip out on me. It's not that big of a deal.

I don´t really mind them, they can wear what they want and call themselves whatever they like -_-

I think I have no "scene kids" in my "close friends" irl, but I know a few, they can be cool when they wanna (with one exception, the snobs, but that´s their outrageous behavior towards others...)

They really shouldn't even be in the same category. Like Djenty said, people just mislabel other people.

They look cool I guess, but it's nothing that I would wear though... Hah, when it comes to clothing, then I'm not that patient at all. I'll stick with my autumn-ish colors and jewlery... OH! And the Mlp shirts of course!

How do I put this...hmm...

Most of the scene kids I have met in my school are pretty much assholes...and a little bit to arrogant about their style.
But I have some friends that are like that, but they are nicer.
I hate piercings...they make you look ugly...or when they over do their makeup that makes them look like crayola gang banged them. But I say if they like the style, I don't mind...I just don't like how they act sometimes. Goes for everyone out of the clique, too.

Why even label them?! I hate being labeled. People can just be themselves without all the stupid labels. Whatever, I won't continue arguing with you. dry.png
