((Maybe the reference was a little obscure. The movie title I pony-fied was 'The Silence of the Lambs' Great movie, by the way!))

 

 

Laughing, Windy shook his head, "Hehe, well first of all, 'The Silence of the Fillies' isn't a filly-flick! Its a horror movie! Its about a pony that EATS other ponies! Although, if scary movies aren't your thing either, I guess there's plenty of other movies to watch. Anyways, I had actually been hoping that you could come up with me to the pool while I train. Then again, it'd be kind of arrogant to ask you to sit there and just watch me swim a couple of laps, so I suppose that you can meet up with your friends and then join me later at the pool. I'll probably be done in about thirty minutes." Windy said, flashing Scamps a wide smile before standing up and starting to walk out. Turning back, Windy smiled again, and said, "Well, bye for now Scamps, can't wait to see you again at the pool!" With that, Windy turned and left the dining hall, painfully aware that he had walked right past Bolt's table.

 

"Windy, Bolt saw you leave alone and probably is going to take that as an opportunity to corner you and either apologize to you or burn your mane off. Or both... Well, that's a chance I'll just have to take then brain. Either way, if I have to run into Bolt again, best to do it in the water where I'm less combustible..."

Laray's face felt a little sunburned. Why? Who knows! Laray shivered, wanting to forget her past and live the future. Trollsie began moving the stallions towards the deck.

"Someponies could use a swim," she grunted.

"Actually, I could," Laray said. "Pool, anypony?"

Trollsie shook her head.

"Busy," she grunted.

"I guess that's you then," Laray turned to Dogboots. "What do ya say? Up for a swim?"

"Heh. That wasn't really intentional, right? Well, who cares? It's not like it matters, right? If it did, then I wouldn't have done it. Or I would have. It was fun." The mare thought to herself, slightly amused. Though she really obviously shouldn't be. "Oh. But now he'll think I'm a jerk. He'll know it's me. What to do? Not fire, though. Anything that won't put me in an even worse position? The more frustrated he is, the better, but I don't want to look bad..."

The mare remained quiet, thinking for a bit. "Actually, I think he's leaving. Damn. Well, I'll stay here..." The mare let out a soft, frustrated scream, just as Windy had past her table. (Which I have the link to now. Yay.) She didn't bother to see if anyone had heard, she didn't care. Which included Windy.

 

"I shouldn't follow him. Yes. That would be stupid. You wait for the stallion to come to you.... Actually, no. He's a jerk. I hate jerks. No need for a jerk, right? Wait, no. I'm a jerk. Complete need for them, in that case." Firebolt remained sipping her coffee.

As Windy neared the door, he heard a very... bizarre... noise from behind him.

 

"What the hay was that...? Was that BOLT?! Hmph, she's going off the deep end! What with trying to burn me and now making weird bird calls when I go past? I mean, I've heard of catcalling, but this is just ridiculous! Whatever... Time to train!"

 

Leaving the dining room behind, Windy navigated the maze of hallways to find his way up to the top of the ship, opting not to take the elevator, and letting his run up the stairs serve as a warm up. Finding the open-air pool, Windy dove into the water ungracefully and began swimming his laps. He had never been a particularly strong swimmer, nor a fan of swimming, but not only was it a valuable cross training tool, but while swimming, time seemed to slow and he was able to reflect and think deeply about things in a way he just couldn't on land. So Windy kept steadily swimming his laps, thinking about his dilemma of Bolt, Scamps, and that stallion, Airy.

"I haven't gone swimming in a long ti-" He stopped mid-sentence. "No way! You have to refuse this one! If she see's our scars then she'll think we're some kind of freak. Look, you don't have to swim you can just watch her. That should be sufficient." He thought before shaking it off.

 

"Uhhh sorry about that. Sure i'll join you." He said before following Laray to the swimming pool. Dogboots felt more and more nervous as they approached the swimming pool. It wasn't just her reaction that he was worried about but every other pony who would see him if he decided to swim. He'd look like a fool for swimming in clothes and thinking about how they would react without his uniform on scared him even more.

"Well... at least they separated. Ugh. Stop caring, me. There's no point to caring, right? Nope. None. But, what to do? I could see a movie or something... Or just lie down. I dunno. Maybe I'll just go to my room..."

 

Firebolt got up, and began wandering the halls. She didn't really know what was on the ship, but walking around was the best solution to that issue.

"Actually, I forgot something in my room. I'll be right back," Laray began to go.

"But...the stallions..." Dogboots began.

"Are no match for Trollsie," Laray finished. "I'll be fast. Oh! And the locker-room over there lend swimsuits, if you want."

Laray dashed down the hallway. She reached her room and hustled inside. She dug through her stuff until she found what she was looking for.

"What do you need to get?" He asked poking his head through the door. "Guess we can call it a stroke of luck that they have bathing suits. Then again this is a cruise for the rich." Dogboots shrugged. "Why were those stallions after her? The mail, the threats and now this? Way too convenient timing. Eh, maybe a swim will get my mind off of it."

Laray ran gleefully down the hallway and back into the swim room. She noticed that Dogboot's had gone into locker-room, so she hid beside the door, waiting for him to come out. A sly grin crept on her face.

'Let's just hope he doesn't have a heart attack. And that there aren't anymore bad stallions 'round here,' Laray thought.

"Well...i'd prefer a blue swimsuit over a red one but I guess this'll have to do." He examined himself in the mirror. The swim suit was similar to his jumpsuit except it was red and the material was different. "Well it's not bad though it's not my favori-" He said after stepping out of the locker room. The stallion's jaw dropped as soon as Laray had surprised him.

Laray twirled in her lime-plaid designer swimsuit. A few ruffles hung beneath the neck. Her hair Color-Coordinated emerald to match.

"Like it?" she asked.

'Gosh, he looks so hot in his swimsuit!'

She ran down the runway to the diving board and didn't stop. When she reached the edge of the board, she jumped, jumped and dove. She flew gracefully through the air, twirling and rolling, sliding headfirst into the water, creating more of a ripple than a splash.

"Wha-I..I don't even have words. She looks gorgeous in that swimsuit. It's like something out of a swimsuit calender. Actually, that wouldn't surprise me." He thought staring at her outfit.

 

"You look amazing!" He said before she dove into the pool. Everything about her was elegant to him.

"CANNON BALL!" He yelled before creating a rather large splash. Dogboots surfaced from the water only to see Windy who was doing laps. "Hey!" addressing the pegasi while approaching him. "I wanted to apologize about my behavior yesterday. It was quite rude and immature."  He said mentioning their first encounter. "Listen, there's something I need to tell you about Bolt." He said to Windy, unaware of what was going on between the two.

Sorrow just continued to become scared in the lawn chair, crying, but not making a single noise... She needed something to calm her down. But what? She would want to go in the pool, but there were ponies inside it... Breakfast? She didn't want to eat... That, and there would be ponies there also...

 

She looked again, seeing a hot tub that had been vacant for quite sometime... Perfect. She trotted over there, and put a hoof inside the water. Immediately, she brought her hoof back up, yelping. That water was waaaaaaaaaaaaay too hot for her. So, the hot tub is out of the question...

 

She just needed someplace to get away, and quick... There was another pool that was next to the two ponies there... That would suffice to her.

 

She trotted over, once again, and put her hoof inside the water. Instead of pulling it back out, she submerged lower and lower into the pool. This water felt extremely nice to her... She lowered herself even more, until the water was just up to her neck at this point. This, to her, was just pure bliss to sink into this water...

Laray heard what Dogboots said just before she hit the water.

"Thanks!" she began to say, but her mouth filled with water. The wave Dogboots made pushed her spirally. She surfaced, noticing Dogboots had called to another pony nearby. Laray smiled evilly and sunk into the water. She swam silently until she reached Dogboots. He hadn't noticed her, so she dove deep, deep down. She reached the bottom and reversed. She sped upwards and shot out of the water next to Dogboots.

"BOOO!" she yelled.

Nightraxx mind had been shrouded with thoughts...."Is is because of me.....? That nightmare...." he pondered in shock himself.

 

A painful realisation then struck through his mind like an arrow. "I....I-it's just like back then....." he remembered the situation, where he wanted to talk to his best friend on the party and know what was wrong, so he could help her the best he could, but she had ran away from everything just as terrified...and then...

 

"No! Please no...not again...i don't want to lose her..." he screamed to himself in fear, banishing the thought. He couldn't possibly bear to lose someone, he deeply cared about...again.

 

He saw Sorrow, she had been crying for some time, then she left her chair, seemingly in search for something...She had gone to the hot tub, but as soon as she inserted her hoof into the water, she squeaked in pain and immediatly pulled her hoof back out.

She then went over to one of the swimming pools. The water there seemed to be more suitable  to her, since she then slowly sunk into the water.

 

In a neighboring pool he saw two ponies, of which one he instantly recognized....It was Dogboots, which besides Moonbeam, Moonstruck and Sorrow, was the only other pony he had talked with so far. Dogboots helped him out before, he was a nice guy. He seemed to be with a mare, which Nightraxx hadn't seen before. The mare looked fairly distinguished...

 

Nightraxx knew why Sorrow did this, she desperately needed something to calm her, to get her mind of that nightmare...

He wanted to comfort her, but he thought he was the last thing Sorrow should see right now...;be there for her, but...he was now extremely scared of terrifying her again and worsen her situation even more...

 

He was not standing too far from the pools, but, thanks to their fears, it somehow seemed like there still was a great distance between them...

 

It was a cruel cycle of desperation, which seemed to have no end. Nightraxx didn't know what to do...was it his fault...?

 

This whole situation and the fear of losing Sorrow...overwhelmed him...He laid down on the floor desperately...buried his face in his hooves...and for the first time in years, he cried. It was the second time he cried like this in his life, the first time being when he had been told his best friend had been found...deceased.

Sorrow still laid in the pool, looking at the water again. She could see that her nose, which had surprisingly not hurt since she had damaged, was showing a deep purple from the bruise. She took a hoof to it, and pressed it. She squeaked again, feeling a new bit of pain come to her.

Laray noticed Sorrow and swam over.

"Hey," she said. "Are you okay? My name is Gene-I mean, Laray! I'm Laray! You look hurt. I know how you feel. Are you alright?"

She cringed at the memory of herself falling through the window. She remembered the feeling of the glass stabbing into her sides and Dogboots kindly pulling each piece out. She inspected her side. The wound thankfully wasn't bleeding.

Sorrow looked at this new pony. And of course with her first reaction with any pony is to squeak out, hide and begin to cry. But the only way that she could hide this time is going underwater. So instead, she tried to dog paddle her way to the other side of the pool. But, seeing as though how she isn't a strong swimmer, she kept flailing about, and getting nowhere...

Ocean was still waiting outside for the other three...she was beginning to get a little impatient but tried to relax and keep reading her book.


Fire on the other hoof had just finished brushing her mane. She looked...quite pretty. She smiled at her reflection before walking back into her bedroom. She searched her bags for a few moments before she found a simple black fedora. She put it on before trotting out of her room and down the hall towards the dining room.

"Oh, did you want me to go away? Wait, do you need help? I can go away if you really want..." dejected, Laray began to sink down into the water.

'I hope that I didn't offend her.' Laray thought. She swam back to Dogboots, but turned again and began skimming the water like a dolphin. Her tail flowed and so did her mane. She swam until she decided to touch the bottom of the pool. Down, down, down again she went. She examined the bottom. There seemed to be some kind of thread floating around there. She began to swim upwards again, but her hoof snagged in a random fish wire ((hmmm, how did that get there?)).

'Why do I have the tendency to get in dangerous situations?'

She struggled but couldn't get free.

For about a good 5 minutes, Sorrow had just got her entire body under water to get the fishing lure untangled. And when she did, Laray was free...

 

Until Sorrow came back up with all of her hooves tied up in it, and struggling. Her hooves were above the water... And her body wasn't...

I just want to be with y-," she began before saying, "I-I mean, I just want to have a good time..." she said, bashfully. She smiled at him.

 

"Well, we can check the schedules and see what's going on, but other than that, I don't know." he suggested. They then went down to the breakfast area, they managed to sit at a table that was fortunately for them empty. He could see some ponies he knew though.

Nightfall woke up, and noticed that it was 8:15. He chuckled, and rolled out of his bed. He jumped into the shower and sat in the water for a while, waking up and eventually cleaning up. When he got out, it was 8:45, so he got dressed and left his room, heading down to the restaurant.

Moonbeam sat at the table with Firecracker, gently brushing a few strands of her mane out of her face. When the waitress came by, she ordered a cup of tea, a glass of orange juice, and a blueberry muffin.She munched on the edge of her muffin like a squirrel, looking over a Firecracker with a smile.

Nightraxx had cried for some time, depressed about the situation...until he heard strange sounds coming from the swimming pools...

 

He looked over there to see that the other mare, which had been in a pool with Dogboots, had swimmed over to talk with sorrow, but Sorrow had become scared of the mare and swam away from her...it looked like she couldnt't swim all that well. The other mare then seemed to back away and swam in a dolphin style, occasionally diving out the water, until she suddenly didn't resurface from the water again..she seemed to be stuck underwater...she seemed to be struggling, since the water was shaking up considerably.

 

He saw that Sorrow swam back to her to help her...she dove underwater and seemed to help the mare in need...For some minutes now, both were underwater, until the other mare finally re-emerged from underwater. However, Sorrow hadn't.

 

Nightraxx instantly sensed danger and without thinking, he ran over...his eyes still blurry from all the tears he had shed. He jumped into the water, even though he wasn't a great swimmer himself. He found Sorrow to be tied in what seemed to be a fishing rope or cord. Not wanting her to be without oxygen any longer, he grabbed Sorrow and pulled her to the surface. He untied the cords, which had entangled Sorrow's hooves.

 

After he had removed the cords completely and made sure she was safe, he slowly backed away, not wanting to scare her..
