It's terrible. Bad outcome. One colleague leaked out the surprise and the birthday guy said "NO THANKS" and refused to talk to me.

 

Now, you would think that solves the matter... right? WRONG

 

Case closed, no suggestions anymore but it disappoints me, and created a bigger gap between us though we're working together. Now I wish I can just die or anything that could make me not be hurt about the situation. Nobody would understand the weight of the deal caused, I give up, seriously..,
