((Well... was not expecting that.))

Stella groaned. For all that, which basically should have killed her, she felt perfectly fine. Well, not perfectly fine. She had been knocked out. Bit difficult to feel excellent after that. She then noticed a figure standing over her. Not what, at first, due to being quite dazed. She assumed it was the Tropius. "Hey... That wasn't very nic---" She began. Then the girl realized it was the statue, and not the grass giant she had stupidly attacked. Which caused her to audibly gasp, but remain frozen.

Surprised she hadn't realized it before, the pokemon standing before her looking like something she remembered. She wasn't sure where from, and it seemed like a crude memory from a legend or child's drawing or the alike. But it was enough to ring enough of a bell to know that it was this pokemon that had saved her. If it wasn't obvious enough. She quickly glanced away from it to try to see Absol and Oddish. Luckily, they were both alright. Even Tropius was. Not that she really had much concern for it's welfare right now...

With outstanding agility, Gligar seemed to disappear from in front of Magmar, and instantaneously reappeared behind it, lashing out with a mighty slash.   (Things should be going badly for you here starting in a moment, just forewarning you. It's an opportunity here I can't pass up.)

Shamus cursed under his breath as Magmar was brought to the ground by Gligar's attack. "Come on, Perry, get up!" But it was no use, between the blast from Marshtomp and Gligar's slash, Perry didn't have the strength to continue fighting. Shamus returned him to his Pokeball before sending out another pokemon. "Alright Smoochum, I haven't named you yet, but I'm going to need you to come through for me here."

(Again, things ought to be going badly here. Gives me opportunity, you see.)

Wartortle, with a command from his trainer, began to spin rapidly, deflecting the sand, as the spinning shell hurtled towards Espeon.

Priestess's sand-attack backfired on her. What was once an attack used to blind the opponent, was now being used as a veil to prevent her from seeing where her opponent was coming from. There was no evading this attack, and Espeon was hit with the full blunt of it. The force from the attack shot her into an empty stand in the bazaar.

Cal was shocked to say the least. In the pit of his stomach, he felt frightened. He didn't know what to do next, but he did know that Priestess couldn't continue to battle after what just happened. With a worried expression, he recalled her back to her pokéball.

Cal couldn't say anything, he just held her ball to his chest and closed his eyes. Not sure as to who to send out next, he stood there, wearing an expressionless face. "Sol wouldn't be any good against a Wartortle, there's just no competition. And I'm not sure how well Aurora would fair in this sort of place..." He knew that he had to hurry, but this wasn't an easy decision.

  • 2 weeks later...

((So sorry for such a lengthy delay. I've started my first job, and it's been killer. But I'm back now. If y'all retained interest.))

((Well... was not expecting that.))

The statue turned around, and looked at Stella. Well, it was hard to tell if it was, really; its seven, hexagonally arranged eyes were blinking on and off, as if it were trying to communicate something to Stella, then turned back at the Tropius. Tropius seemed to cower, and fled back into the woods, at which point, the Titan of Metal began to stump slowly back to where it had been holding a silent vigil.

(And here's where the two cinematics begin to join. Introducing...)

Wartortle now faced Cal menacingly, just as Gligar began to dive once again, at Smoochum, as the thugs under their command grinned. "Better pay up now, or pay the consequences," Wartortle's owner jeered at Cal. Evidently the trainer was impatient, as without giving Cal time to respond, the man cried, "Wartortle, use Scald on the trainer! That'll teach 'im!"

Wartortle spouted a powerful jet of water at Cal, and the jet hit Cal with a flash of blinding light... Wait. The Jet didn't hit Cal at all. Cal found himself staring at a motionless jet of boiling water a mere inch from his face, surrounded by a light aura. The bald thug and Wartortle both looked astounded, as did the tall thug and his Gligar - The Gligar's Poison Sting attack had been stopped seconds before maiming Smoochum. Both trainers and pokemon looked around, as if bewildered, only to see a young trainer cloaked in shadow on top of a neighboring building, a slender, graceful pokemon beside him. Together they leapt off the building, right between the thugs, and their features came into sharp relief.

There was a maturity in this trainer's grey eyes that seemed to disagree with the youthfulness of his physique and face. He wore a plain white button-down shirt, and chartreuse pants that matched both his hair and his partner, a tall and graceful Gardevoir. "I'd leave them alone now, if I were you," the trainer said in a quiet voice that nonetheless radiated a sense of power. Both thugs stared at the trainer, and laughed. "Go get him, Gligar," the taller of the two said.

Seconds later, in a flash of light, both of the thug's pokemon were lying, dispatched, at their owners' feet. Both thugs fled immediately, after withdrawing their unconscious pokemon. "You'll regret crossing Team Aqua like this, Wally! You'll get what's coming to you!" One of them cried as the fled towards the museum.

Wally seemed unconcerned. He turned to the trainers. "Are you alright? And your pokemon?" He seemed genuinely concerned.

((It's fine. Just makes it all the more exciting when another post is made. tongue.png))

"...Well then." Stella muttered to herself as the statue returned to where it had been before. She saw no need in letting anyone know said statue wasn't a statue. After all, it was the least she could do. It had saved her life, as far as she knew.

Getting up, groggily, Stella noted both Absol and Oddish. They looked fine, as they hadn't been beaten up at all in the battle with the Tropius. Oddish gave Stella the pokeball containing Spinda, indifferently. The small grass pokemon seemed to think the previous goings were more of an amusement then anything. Whereas Absol shakily stood as close to Stella as possible, looking even more terrified then before. "Well... Let's go heal up then..." She said softly, regarding the Pokeball containing Spinda, as well as the one containing Swablu.

Once in the Pokecenter, with the two beaten pokemon given to Nurse Joy, Absol returned to his own Pokeball and Oddish calmly being held in Stella's arms, Stella regarded the map of Hoenn. The nearest gym was an electric type gym. Easy enough, as Oddish was resistant to such types, but then Stella remembered having seen Wattson on the television before. He had a Magnemite, which, if memory served, was an Electric and Steel type with the ability levitate. She wouldn't be able to handle such a pokemon, with the lack of a fire or fighting type. So, she would probably want to catch one of those two types before going to challenge it.

For a region as hot as Hoenn was, there was a distinct lack of fire types. Which was irritating, as fire happened to be the girl's favorite type of pokemon. Fast attackers, that while didn't stand for very long, were great at inflicting a lot of damage quickly. As far as she was concerned, there were only three fire types in the region she was interested in. That being Torchic, who was one of the regular starters for rookie trainers, Torkoal, and Vulpix. It was most likely she would find these pokemon in a place like Fiery Path, but Mt. Pyre was a possibility. That was where she would head next. Of course, she would have to backtrack a bit, which made her regret not catching the Tropius even more as it could have given her a ride. That wasn't too big of a deal, though, as she could get to Mauville that way regardless.

Eventually, Nurse Joy returned the two pokemon Stella had handed over in full health. Exiting the center, she summoned the Spinda, trying to figure out if it would be actually useful. "I don't even know what you can do..." She muttered.

Octavia, completely oblivious to the battles and friendships being made around her, was skipping throughout the road to Mauville. Along the way, thugs were threatening her to give them her cash, trainers were looking at her oddly, Riolu got beat up five times, and right when she took a break, she had a mob of thugs right behind her...looking furious.

One thug spoke up. "...uh, are you even listening?"

Octavia's ears perked up. "Huh? No, could you say it again, please?"

The thugs, all on cue, face palmed.

"Just give us your money!" All of them boomed, echoing throughout the route.

"Sure!" Octavia piped, making all of her Pokémon gape.

"We don't take no for a- Wait, what?" One thug started.

"Here!" Octavia said, giving them all of the money she had. "Sorry I don't have a lot, I spent it all throwing a party in Sinnoh."

"W-What? This has to be a joke..." The rest of the thugs started chatting among themselves about this 'weird kid' and how 'she must have more cash' and how 'this has to be a trick'. Octavia just smiled and looked at the gang.

Riolu walked up and whispered in Tavi's ear. "Listen, Tavi, we gotta bail!"

"Bail? Hey, that's a funny word! Did you know how many words rhyme with bail now that I think about it? Pail, tail..."

Riolu's left eye twitched. This was going to be a long day.

Route 120

The waterlogged route east of Fortree seemed to have taken very liittle damage from the fire that had destroyed the city next door. Or, at least, it had recovered very well, as there were several dark patches of burnt trees on the western end of the route. The sun shone down very hard on a rock in the middle of one of the lakes in the area, and there was an ornamental building on a plateau that looked like an ancient tomb. It looked ransacked.

There were several Team Aqua members talking outside this Ancient Tomb, talking animatedly. There was a Bird Keeper waiting on one of the rickety bridges, training with a Swellow. Tall grass near one of the lakesides was parting strangely, as if something invisible was walking through it. Surskit, Marill and Poliwag could be seen playing in a pond. A Seedot was chillin in a tree. A Linoone was streaking back and forth across the route.

(Let me control the thugs if you don't mind. Besides, the route between Mauville and Slateport is impassable. There's actual warefare going on there, and the bridge blocked passage anyway.

There was definitely no way that Kirlia could stop that hit, and she, along with Makuhita, had crashed horribly into the sand, with Kirlia crying out and flailing for the Makuhita to get off of her. Though, Trevor, instead of flipping out about the recent tumbling, had believed this was a smart idea...

It's out of its cave. It's going to charge at us, and it seemed to be angry unless calmed... OK, this shall do!

"Makuhita! Get ready, because YOU are mine!", he cried out, spinning about. A second later, a white sphere had came out from his figure, indicating it was a Premier Ball! It landed squarely on the Makuhita's back.

Oddish awoke, groggily, to the sound of loud, booming voices. She stretched the leaves on her head, slightly. Stella took that she was awaking on her own terms, so, spoke up. "A bit nostalgic, huh, Oddish?" She asked it, regarding the bird keeper and his Swellow. "This is where we caught Absol, after all. Mt. Pyre should be that way..." She said, travelling down the route. She actually wasn't sure how to get to Mt. Pyre exactly... but it shouldn't be too hard. Oddish, however, was locked on to the Team Aqua members. They wouldn't be out here unless something was happening, and Oddish was not one to take a liking to Team Aqua. Stella didn't mind them too much, but didn't like them much either.

"What is it, Oddish?" She asked. Well, it was obvious what she was regarding, the Aqua members at the cave, which looked a bit more destroyed then usual, were... loud. "Don't worry about it. It's just Team Aqua." She muttered. Oddish had other ideas, though. The small pokemon quickly leaped out of Stella's grasp and ran towards the group. "Oddish!" Stella yelled after her, soon running to try to catch her before she caused too much trouble.

Oddish quickly arrived in front of the grunts. She tried to look as menacing as possible, though not an easy task. The Oddish let out a sharp "Odd!" and looked about ready to charge at them.

(I was planning on you controlling the thugs anyway. Since you were controlling the thugs anyway for the other people, oyu can surely do it. And I didn't know about the path to Mauville being blocked off, so Octavia stopped at the blocked-off bridge. (I suck at remembering thing.)

Makuhita didn't stand a chance.

There's a new Pokedex entry:

Makuhita, the Guts Pokemon.

The Team Aqua grunts seemed in a bit of a panic. They were poking around the inside of the Ancient Tomb, as if surprised at it's emptiness. "Where's the golem?" they were asking the air and each other.

"Oh, look what we got here, boys!" said a female one, with an air of authority, laughing and plucking the Oddish off the ground. "Aren't you cute? Do you want to help Team Aqua's noble cause?" She was speaking to Oddish in a silly voice, like she was speaking to a baby.

The thugs laughed, and despite their bewilderment, fled back to Slateport with their winnings.

The Trick Master remained outside his ruined house, now scavenging at something just inside the door. The path north was blocked, although the fighting on the route sounded as if it was closer. The occasional fiery or aquatic attacks and flashes of light could be seen coming just from the other side of the bridge.

((It's a good thing Oddish wasn't hiding underground... :V That screaming they do when plucked out of the ground isn't nice.))

Oddish almost happily let herself be picked up by the Aqua member. She let out another "Odd!" in a similar tone, though a bit more amused. Quickly, she let out a ridiculously Sweet Scent from her leaves, hoping it would make the woman drop her.

Stella caught up soon after. "Oddish!" She yelled, somewhat angrily. "Why would you run off like that? And more importantly, you don't attack anyone! That's just... wrong! Even if it is just Sweet Scent..." "...or Team Aqua..." She added under her breath. Stella seemed somewhat oblivious to how the members were faring under the potent smell. She had gotten quite used to it.

Cal hesitated a bit, however, any information concerning this region and the issues at hand was invaluable to him. Looking at Wally with a look of concern he asked: "....and what happened to Fortree and Petalburg? Isn't Fortree City named so due to the fact that the entire city is housed among the tops of trees? What damage could have been done there?"

Connor waited on the ship, Poliwag by his side. He had to get to Hoenn. He was told of the war to come between Team Magma and Team Aqua. And, though what he knew was limited, he knew enough. Latias and Latios had granted him this knowledge. And with it, he would help to stop the war to come. He could see Staleport in the distance. It was about time, to. He left the deck to return to his cabin.
