October?! That's like, a whole three months away! D: All the holograms for the people look amazing though. Is this for 3DS or DS though? It's starting to look like 3DS a bit.

X and Y have been confirmed for 3DS, they're not coming out on the normal DS at all at this point in time according to nintendo, and i highly doubt they will.

 

I'm buying myself a 3DS just to get this, well and some other games, but first this .

I'm gonna buy a 3ds just for this game. Japan is getting limited edition Pokémon X and Y 3ds' and I'm hoping we'll get them here in the States too. I'd love to get my hands on one, they look really cool. I'd be fine with a default 3ds, but you gotta love Nintendo's exclusives.

I can't wait to buy Pokémon Y, I think Yveltal just looks so badass! Also, Dark/Flying is an interesting type combo. I can't wait until October!

Same, well i'm still gonna buy other titles, but X and Y is the first game i'm buying mostlikely.

 

Limited edition sounds cool, although being how cheap i can be, and how I don't exactly think I'll have the money for spare i'll probably just get the regular one.

 

Oh well, not a big deal.

 

And i'm probably getting Y, i like Yveltal to, looks really cool, Dark types are pretty cool to. One of my favorite types personally.

So apparently the profesor is named Professor Sycamore. I don't know why but that sounds very fitting. Team Flare is the same name. Other stuff. Oh there's a video too! SO much cool stuff!

I'm hoping there's more to team flare aside from stealing and money bit. I know they're aren't revealing everything right now but I really do hope they're not so one-dimensional. it would suck to see all the progress gamefreak did with story telling in BW/BW2 spent solely on what we currently know about team flare

Sycamore is a cool name I love it . Team flare is a cool name.

Yeah, I hope they will to. I'm sure they'll come up with something though.

No Xerneas is pure fairy. It honestly really bothers me that everyone is hating on the fairy type. I prefer it over a light type. They went outside of what everyone expected, and the pokemon that are fairy type so far are very suited for it.

Oh ok, well alot of legendaries have been duel types lately, so I just assumed he would be.

 

And I don't really have any problems with fairy type, I think its a cool an interesting thing, especially if they balance it well.

Yvelta is actaully suppose to be Dark/Flying type, so he won't be one type.

 

I dunno if it'll affect the balance that much, I mean duel types get more weaknesses so idk. I don't think it'll sway the balance that much.

yveltal has been confirmed as dark/flying. though I don't think that would make it overpowered. it would still have to worry about thunderbolts and ice beams

Oh, okay. Why does it have to be Dark type! I'm picking Chespin (Which is supposedly Grass/Dark) and I'd hate to have two Pokemon with the same type! Not that I tend to use legendaries that much.

Idk, maybe since ones a fairy of light, the others a bird of darkness, I'm sure once we get info insane it'll make sense more.

 

I personally like never use legendaries in the main story really. So it won't affect me much.

 

I'm also getting fennikin, even though I normally get grass type starters, I just like fennikin alot .

I'm kind of hoping the third member of the Xerneas and Yveltol trio is strong against Xerneas and weak to Yveltol, since, if those PokeBeach rumours are true and Fairy is strong against Dark poor Yveltol's getting the short end of the stick. Overall though I like their typings and species names, so excited to see how they relate to the story ingame.

 

And Inkay is perfect in every way, as is Malamar. Squid babys ;__;

 

And Sycamore is kind of cute

I love everything they've released about the game so far except Team Flare. They look a bit too flashy, in my opinion. Actually way too flashy. If they have a good motive/plot, I can look past their appearance.

Haha! Me too! Chespin looks really cool too so I was going to pick him. I hate how the Grass starter always seems to be the hardest to play with. At least the fact that Team Flare will use fire types (why wouldn't they?) will make the Water Starter have an advantage. The fire is usually the easiest, but maybe not this time around?

Im so excited for X and Y ! I think these games are gonna make a big leap in pokemon games-mostly for the animation.It looks so new and-well, awesome! So far Chespin is my favorite starter,and Yveltol and Xerneas look pretty awesome.And im really liking Helioptile,the fighing panda gouranda or something like that,and the squid pokemon.And the floating cotton candy looks like a good rival for vanillite.

Same here haha, I agree, the CD aspect is pretty cool, and the fact you'll finally have actual contact between the pokemon is pretty cool.(Now I just have to wait for my dream pokemon game that has battles like in the anime...)

 

I think i've said so before, but Fennikin is pretty cool looking, normally I go with the grass type like chespin, but Fennikin looks really cool, so I might be going fire type starter this time.

 

I'm also hoping this game puts more pokemon into some of the more rare types, I like to have a good selection from all types. (I like Dark and steel, aswell as grass alot, so some good pokemon of those types will be probably big favorites for me.)

 

And well this is the X and Y discussion thread, so don't worry about feeling like your just babaling on since well this is a discussion thread for X and Y . So feel free to talk about whatever if you have something you wanna talk about. .

i honestly really like the types, Yveltal seems to fit Dark/Flying and i can sorta see Xerneas as a Fairy type but to be honest i half-expected Xerneas to be Fairy/Grass, but i still approve of the legendaries typing.

 

i am also excited for next month's announcement, apparently it's supposed to be a very big scoop which is why i think that it's going to be the starter evolutions.

 

btw you know what kinda pokemon i'm really hoping to see?a pokemon based on a griffin, i mean how awesome would that be? i'd catch it in a heartbeat.

all I wanted out of gen 6 was a ghost/steel. since they revealed honedge, it was like a combinaiton of relief and exhiliration. I've been so obsessed about ghost/steel, I haven't really given a thought to what else I'd like =P

I'm definitely going for Chespin. Not only do I like its personality, but I think it'll be a lot of fun playing through the game, especially with Team Flare. We'll have a blatant disadvantage, but it will be so much fun! I usually go with the fire-type, except Chikorita in my first playthrough of Silver, so it'll be a great change. Besides, Fennekin and Froakie don't really "appeal" to me, don't get me wrong, I like them, I just seem to lean towards Chespin more.

 

Here's where I go on a long rant about why I think Chespin isn't based on a mammal, but rather that its based on a Chesnut with mammalian features.

 

I'm really liking all the new features too. The PSS looks amazing, and if rumor is true, some limits will be lifted (Like searching for Pokemon on GTS you haven't seen.)

 

Oh, here's something neat. When they introduced Prof. Sycamore, they posted some screenshots of him too, look at this one:

 

I circled it in the picture, but it's not hard to notice. The picture closest to the left is of Snivy and Servine, the one to the right seems to be Tepig.

 

EDIT 7/25: Pokemon Global Link uploaded an image of the new version of GL. I've posted the image in the spoiler.

 

 

 

 

And a bit of info about what you see in the picture:

 

 

-The template for X is blue and the template for Y is red (Much like on the current GL, buttons are different colors depending on the version you're playing.)

-The menu on the left from top to bottom: "My Page," "Rating Battle," "Online Competition," "Account Settings." Then a big "Support" button. Under that is a "Recent Photo" and the text "Most common Pokemon in player parties in Rating Battle Online Battles" with a picture of Sylveon underneath.

-In the middle is the news slider, underneath the banner with Chespin, Fennekin, and Froakie is the text "The redesigned Pokemon Global Link is now open!" Under that is the "News," "Announcing an Online Competition: The ??? Cup!" "All Online Competition participants can receive a special Pikachu!" "Extended Maintenance Information." And then the Timeline is displayed.
-Finally, on the right is the "This Weeks Events" section, the top one shows an Master Ball along with "Play in the Online Competition and receive a Master Ball!" And then a Picture of a Pikachu with the text "A PIkachu that [knows] a rare move!" Under that is the "Rating Battle Trainer Rankings Top ten overall."

 

 

So, here's what I can gather: 1) No more Dream World. 2) Items will be given out as well as Berries and Pokemon. 3) Battle Competition is now Online Competition, and GBU is no longer one unified thing. 4) Extended Maintenance will return! () I'll update if I catch anymore!
