Brohoof Status Updates

Every now and then, someone makes a status that is funny or exclaims about good news. More often than not, I am not friends with the person who made the status and commenting on the status would be pretty out of the blue.

 

I think that brohoofing a status would be a good alternative for someone who is uncomfortable with commenting/can't think of anything to say. You can like and/or comment on a status on Facebook and that system seems to work out fine, so why not on here too? Non-rhetorical question BTW.

It would not work, because it would turn into a "lyk mah status if u lyk cheese" thing.

 

Brohoofs are supposed to be feedback for good posts, and status updates usually are just nonsense, silliness, moping/venting, or personal things that are pretty irrelevant.

I think this is more of a question of what you can and can't do with IP.Board. From what more knowledgeable people have said, I've gotten the impression that it's pretty hard to do much in the way of altering how status updates work. Regardless of whether it's possible or not though, I agree with Hitagi to some extent. There are some status updates I'd have liked to brohoof in the past, but it's pretty easy to just tell the person that you agree with what they said or that you think they said something funny. I've always viewed the status update system as more of a means to interact with the rest of the community anyway.
