Do you relate to one pony but love another?

Okay... Sounds strange but let me break this down!

 

Out of the Mane 6, I've been compared the most to Pinkie. The chatter, the bouncing, the crippling insecurity and intense emotional reactions.

 

But... The pony I love and admire the most is Rarity. She's got all the qualities I wish I had, and she's the type of person I wish I was!

 

It's strange because it kind of makes me sad. I love Pinkie, but I feel like I'm always going to be stuck as Pinkie (being the "annoying" one) and never a Rarity (confident artistic bombshell!).

 

Have you felt this way? Love Fluttershy but are really a Gilda? Want to be a Rainbow Dash but really are a Derp?

The way I see it is that having a lot in common with a pony isn't the only way to relate to one though it is probably the easiest. I have almost nothing in common with Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy and Rarity but have related to them in some situations because I kind of understand where they are coming from. I related most strongly to Pinkie Pie in the episode Baby Cakes because while I have never babysat there have been several times where I have taken on more than I can handle. I related to Fluttershy the most strongly in Putting Your Hoof Down because I have been bullied before and have taken my counter measures a bit too far as a matter even further than Fluttershy actually did which caused me to teeter on a razor's edge between being expelled from school and going to prison for most of the time I was in high school. And I related most strongly to Rarity in Suited For Success because though I have never sewn a dress before I have had people take advantage of me before, though none of those people actually apologized for it.

 

As for me the ponies I have the most in common with are also the ones that are the ones I like the most in part because they are the easiest to relate to as well as other factors. I like Applejack value highly value honesty, detest liars and lying, can often be very stubborn and set in my ways and overdo things. I like Twilight Sparkle used to have a lot of trouble socializing and making friends and since a young age had an inquisitive mind and love of learning. and I like Luna was in the past often feared, hated and misunderstood. In the case of Applejack though I also liked her because I greatly admired her and that admiration has only grown as the series has gone on. Applejack is the most inspiration character in the show because she has endured what would have destroyed most ponies. She lost her parents at a young age and had to take charge by helping her brother take care of their younger sister and run the farm.

Absolutely.  I can identify the most with Twilight Sparkle, trying to be logical as well as liking order and planning as opposed to 'winging it'.  However, my favorite pony is easily Fluttershy, likely because I have a weakness for that which is adorable (though I can also identify with her shyness).

 I feel I can relate to Twilight Sparkle the most.  I'm a little OCD and can stress over stuff a little more than I should.  I freak out a bit when something goes wrong/ doesn't go according to planned.  I plan things out when I feel it's necessary ( which can be quite often).  I kinda enjoy researching stuff and do well in my classes.  I was more socially awkward in the past.  I also didn't have many friends, or put much effort into making friends, until I moved to a new city and decided it would be good to be more sociable.  I also tend to over think things from time to time. 

 

  I love Dashie though.  We don't share many similarities, but there is something abut her I admire.  She is generally laid back and doesn't stress the small stuff.  I also think her personality is cool and don't mind her cockiness.  Her cockiness portrays confidence, which is something else I like about her.  She also has a great design, which doesn't hurt.

Actually my favorite pony is the one I relate to, atleast at this moment. Because I think all the characters are great, so most of my favorite characters has to do with the amount I relate to them.

 

I can relate to every pony of the mane 6 to some extent, just some more, and those happen to end up higher on my favorites list.

 

Which is why Fluttershys first, shes a quiet kind soul, whos very shy, and also fearful of alot of things aswell as self conscious. Which is all stuff i am.

However, the pony I relate to the most is Rainbow Dash. I'm a pilot, so I share and understand her passion for flight. (She's close to my favorite though...an EXTREMELY close second)

Well, it just so happens that my favorite pone, Rainbow Dash, happens to also be is the one I relate to the most. Mostly because we have similar dispositions, I suppose. That's not to say I don't relate to anypony else, of course; I've had many moments of relatability with the other Mane 6 characters (and occasionally others, like the CMC). Heck, I can even relate to my least favorite Mane 6 pony, Flutters, inasmuch as I used to be cripplingly shy like her. But I suppose that's the genius of the show - as very different as a lot of the characters are, many of them have at least one thing about them that most viewers will find relatable in some respect or another.

I definitely without a doubt relate the most to Fluttershy. I'm pretty much the real life Fluttershy, except not cute nor charming. Anyways, I do relate the most to Fluttershy, but I love Rainbow Dash more. She is a pony that describes how I wish I was. Cool, praised, respected, and social. I relate a lot to Pinkie Pie because I can often go on ranting about something and get really hyper about a topic I love. Plus, people often find me very eccentric most of the time, especially when I sing at random and when I start to sing "Smile, Smile, Smile"! I'm a musical person, just like Pinkie, so there's a lot of connections between our personalities you see?
